adywan said:Just an Idea, but because the German broadcast were about 17gb in size, adding any more bitrate to them to fill a BD-25 would be pointless. But why not drop the bitrate slightly so each episode comes to about 14-15GB with audio and you could to 2 BD-50 - one for each trilogy with 3 films on each. You really won't see a difference in quality between a 15gb & a 17GB version and this could be a great way to present them as 2 trilogies
I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with this. BD blanks are still ridiculously expensive for just the BD-25's ($5-10). BD-50's are astronomical. I'm not looking to spend $30 on a coaster.
All I remember of this movie is the scene with Richard in his briefs. So hot. :)
Chewtobacca said:No; I'm pretty sure it hasn't. It's still on alt.binaries.starwars though.
Signing up for newsgroups is well worth it and easier than it seems. You could grab all three AVCHDs and ANHR PAL DVD 9 to boot, along with some other lovely items, such as dark_jedi's wonderful anamorphic versions of the original trilogy. Just a thought! :-)
Thanks but an extra expense and trouble that's not needed. I'll just patiently wait for the eventual torrent or find a kind soul to send me a copy.
Has Phantom Menace shown up on torrent yet?
Will there be an NTSC version? :)

It's a start...
Just a heads up to UK and Irish members. All four Indy films are being shown in HiDef on Sky Movies.
Any chance anyone could capture?
I know there’s an AVC version of Raiders. Any chance someone could do the other 2?
Moth3r said:Dolby Digital on laserdisc is still compressed. (In fact, AC3 on LD at 384kbps is actually more compressed than a standard 448kbps AC3 track on DVD).
I hadn't realized that. Thank you.
I also hadn't realized that Ady "released" Eppy 1 on AVC as well. D'oh! Sorry!
chris1712 said:Finally grabbed Ep 1. The compression artifacts seem extra bad in this one :(. It almost looks like dvd! Shame, as the colour correction is great. I can never decide which versions to watch, the original german broadcasts are miles ahead quality wise but the german crawls are damn annoying!
Episode 1? Holy shit. I hadn't realized it had been "released."
I hope Ady now uses the uncompressed laserdisc sound for the eventual HD clean-up version. :) I'm sure he'll have to compress it for this DVD release so as to get the best possible audio/video presentation.
So here are some pics from the Movieum. I'm on the left...

dark_jedi said:LOL I forgot to say,it is Robocop,sorry about that.
Robocop has a horrendous transfer and no extras.
Then perhaps you should have continued the discussion there instead of creating your own thread.
Don't assume that people are going to read every thread on this forum.
???
where is this coming from?
I just wanted to thank everyone for their help with my trip.
I checked out the Cinema Store. There was only one section to the store that I saw...and I started sweating the minute I walked in. FAR too much stuff to look at!!!
Forbidden Planet was much larger than the one we have here in NYC and, again, was a wreck trying to make it through the store before it closed. I also had to do a lot of thinking about how the hell I was getting the stuff I wanted to buy home.
The Movieum was also awesome...took a ton of pictures.
Ulysses1922 said:Dr. No is there as well. Doesn't seem to be a commentary for the Fisher King anywhere though.
I got that set from someone on here a while back. It was definitely archived.
CompMovieGuy said:I dont think anyone will be grabbing this, the seller is capitializing on the media attention riht now and I expect this thing to fetch a nice penny
As well he should. I've been thinking about trying to dig through my archives to find any good Michael stuff.
adywan said:If you are going to London then i would definitely visit this place.
Shame your not going the weekend starting 11th July though.
WOW THANK YOU! This has now shot to the top of my list of things to see!!!!
Elstree isn't still there, right? It'd be kinda cool to see it...if just for nostalgia.
Just booked my hotel and SO excited!!!
Johnboy3434 said:5.) Don't smoke any cigars. They have homosexual connotations over there.
Well, that's all you really need to know.
I'm gay. And it's going to be gay pride the day I get there. And I'm going to a Madonna concert.
And it's actually cigarettes, not cigars.
Mielr said:The Hard Rock Cafe in London may have some SW mementos as the cast hung out there during filming (I stupidly walked past the place but forgot to go eat there when I was in London...DOH!)
Go to Abbey Road and get someone to take a picture of you crossing the street Beatles-style. :-P I managed to do that while I was there, but I missed the studio tour. :-( The London Symphony Orchestra recorded some of the the SW soundtracks there I think.
The place I stayed was a nice Bed & Breakfast but I can't recall the name. I'll post the name if I can find it.
Definitely let me know where you stayed. I'm still looking for a place.
Which Star Wars cast hung out there? Where did you get that story from?
Thanks. Any other stores that might have "older" stuff?
Was this ever torrented? Babyhum disappeared :(
