but it will be a cold day in ***** before i ever touch a newsgroup,

or post files there (see my sig)....torrents work for me, so i don't

mess with anything else......besides here in the US, some providers

are cutting off the whole alt.* newsgroups anyways...

With a premium news server, NOMP, and a subscription to Newzbin, Usenet can be just about as convenient as BT.

Not really.  I click one button and my torrent starts.  And it's free.

I'll never do newsgroups.  And I guess that means I'll never be getting Wookiegroomers editions :(

I've tried asking around about these ultra-exclusive HD torrent sites but it doesn't seem like anyone is offering up any info.

You're the first to mention it, which parts are you referring to? Has anyone else had any problems?

The only source I had for the DirectTV commercial was a webrip (via tb1971). If you know of better...

Hmm...I just watched the TV commercials...and they're about a second out of sync.  I'm going to have to watch the rest.

The last thing I want to do is disrespect you guys for putting this together.  Maybe it's a problem with the download?  I dunno...

Doesn't make sense that a rapidshare download would create a sync problem

your best bet is to get "raid edition" drives, which are designed for more usage regardless if you use them for raid or not (i.e. WD RE3 drive, NOT RE4-GP which is a green/low power model). the seagate 7200.12 drives are good, too, but i wouldn't be surprised if you are opposed to them...

I'm already up and running with 2 Western Digital 620gb drives.  They'll be cloned so no worries about losing info again. :)

Guys,

I want to thank you all for the kind words and the paypal offer.

As much as I don't want to take you up on it, I just may.  At this point, i don't even know if the material has been saved.  if it has, I will let you know and we'll take it from there.

As a thank you, I would promise to get the Indy discs out immediately and I would give early download links to anyone who contributes.

I'm also planning on re-doing the original discs for the first 3 movies as well.

I promise to keep you updated.

I disagree about IMAX, but only if the film is *shot* in IMAX.  Blowing up 35mm (or worse, digital) film to IMAX (which is 70mm turned on its side) is completely pointless.  But I guarantee if you compare something that was shot on 70mm/IMAX to anything shot on 35mm, it completely blows it out of the water.  If it weren't so damned expensive, I'd prefer that everything were shot on 70mm.

I don't like the fact that you have to shoot in one aspect ratio for IMAX.

But, yes, 70mm would absolutely be preferred.
