No chance of offering the Jaws Biography special on a regular DVD or DVD-DL?  I don't think many of us would have the means to either burn or view the BD version.  :(

On a related note, did you happen to record the Biography Channel's similar recent special on Caddyshack?  I'd love to get that preserved on disc since it was a wonderful comprehensive doc on the making of the film and better than anything we'd get on a future Caddyshack special edition DVD/BD.

There's already a single layer DVD of it out there and, to be honest, I have far too much stuff on my plate right now to do conversions and re-encodes.  Since it's Shark Week, i'm also going to include the Mythbusters Jaws special in HD on the same disc.  I'd like to get as much Jaws stuff done this year (for the 35th anniversary) as possible.

I know it's been a while but I'm back on track working on a bunch of things.  I just burned my very first Blu-Ray compilation of the Jaws Biography special...along with a Today Show Retrospective. :)  Very proud of that.

I'm also going to go through a lot of my older stuff and see what to do.  Have to figure out where to seed a lot of it as well.  Hoping to get it out for all of you!! :)

RU releasing your Jaws BR also? Would live to see it @ home....

I'm debating.  The problem is that you'd have to have a Blu-ray burner to play it.

I suppose the complaints made last year, justifiable though they may be, annoyed Lucas, and he is simply looking for a way to strike back.

 Which complaints last year?

Blade Runner: The Complete Music Collection (work-in-progress)

Spiderwalk said:

Anyone wanting to download my mix the links are now up on the final fantasy shrine forum (The Blade Runner Soundtrack Ultimate Thread).

This was not my decision but Kirkenshrir's, he took that choice away from me.

I had been considering the FF forums but ultimately i think i would have posted it on the blade runner soundtracks group forum, because that's where i acquired the 2019 copy.

I just downloaded this project and, judging from the first track, it was taken from a PAL source or something because it's sped up. Too bad.

I have no doubt that Focus' version will be the ultimate version.  I await it.

FWIW, it's an LAY file, whatever that is.

Strange that the burning software trips up on the LAY file - DVDSP and Spruce before it used this file as a 'preference' file (LAYOUT) - it contains volume information and where the layer break would be set etc.

No need for it in a burnable copy, and can be safely deleted, but at the same time should do no harm if left.

DVD-BOY

Well, for whatever reason, the 5th disc wouldn't even get to menu and the 2nd DVD would only play a portion of it.  No idea why but it completely stopped the disc on my player.

In any case, it's been resolved.  I guess that's the good news.

Avatar passes Star Wars at the box office
Time

Ghost said:

Has Titanic been forgotten yet?

No, because it has a very strong plot and it tells a story about one of the most famous disasters ever.

This isn't to say it's good or not good (still haven't seen it yet), but just to say that I don't see it being forgotten.

It wont be compared to the great movies, it will be remembered as a huge leap in technology, it will be very boring to watch when CG improves.

They said that about Star Wars too. ;)

But they put out 3 of the greatest movies ever.  Avatar has one overated movie out.  When I hear people talk about Avatar, the only thing they talk about is how pretty everything was, not anything to do with the plot.  I couldn't even tell you 3 characters names from the film.

Where was the tragedy, the irony, the powerful ending in Avatar?  I knew what the ending would be like an hour into the movie.

Just my 2 cents :)

 Amen.  Avatar is horrendously over-rated.

Both AA5 and AA6 were thoroughly checked for any playback problems before uploading, and they both played fine. They were authored in professional DVD Stufio PROsoftware  on Mac and are in PAL format (PAL uncompatible players from US might exhibit problem with playback). Over 100 users downloaded both discs so far and no one reported any problems. Hope you work it our dfnyc...

Well, there's a problem with the rapidshare version because it has a file in BOTH there that it shouldn't.  I deleted that file and now both burn and play without issue.

FWIW, it's an LAY file, whatever that is.
