The thing is, in this case I'd actually be more inclined to believe that this isn't the footage from the actual Blu-Rays, as they're snippets from documentaries, so they would probably use the 2004 HD master just as it was, just like Empire of Dreams uses a lot of 97SE footage.

Doubtful...the footage isn't snippets from the documentaries. They wouldn't show scenes this long in a documentary. The intro's for each little EPK would be clips from the documentary and then there's a corresponding snippet from the actual film.

And don't even get me started on the fact that there aren't any legitimate documentaries on discs 7 and 8.

Which probably means we get the same edited version of SPFX that has always been on video, or worse yet, the 90's version of Making of Star Wars that replaces William Conrad's original narration. :(

How was SPFX edited?

Some clips from a couple Disney films apparently couldn't be cleared for home video, and were chopped out. This makes Mark Hamill's reference to them later on in the doc rather cryptic. An uncut version recorded from an European broadcast has been spotted on Youtube.

Interesting. Never knew that.

You're probably seeing a cached version. Try a forced refresh/reload (ctrl + F5). I see a message from the hoster saying that savestarwars.com has expired.

Edit - NO! Don't do a forced reload yet, instead try and save the pages - anything in your browser cache may help with none's attempt to save as much as possible.

You know what? I was looking at a different site. Don't mind me. ;)

Idea & Info: 'Bon Voyage, Charlie Brown' and 'Race For Your Life Charlie Brown' - airing on HD channels throughout June and July... how bout a DVD preservation?
Time

marioxb said:

Don't think anyone had any luck the last time, but I'm actually watching right now, Bon Voyage Charlie Brown on Time Warner Kids on Demand. It was 1.99 and I don't know if it's uncut or anything, but I hope so! It seems to be non-letterbox, which I heard was the correct ratio anyway.

Is that in HD?

For those of you who were looking, you should definitely invest in the Hauppauge PVR. it's currently the only way to record ANYTHING in HD. I have TONS of stuff in hd.

Unfortunately, I don't have HDNET. Time Warner has something against it and they almost always have a movie on there that I'm dying to cap in HD. :(

Star Wars coming to Blu Ray (UPDATE: August 30 2011, No! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!)
Time

here's some news...

On a different note - the FSK that rates movies here in germany has tested some more material from the upcoming Blu-Ray Set:
Star Wars Episode IV - A New Hope (Blu Ray Version) (New Edition) 125 Minutes (24 fps)
Star Wars Episode II - Attack Of The Clones (Blu Ray Version) 142 Minutes (24 fps)

Movies that are released again on a new medium are only reviewed by the FSK if they are indeed altered versions or different cuts. LotR for example has not been reviewed again for it's Blu-Ray outing...

Furthermore on Disc 7 there is something called "Boba Fett: First Look" (8:39 Minutes)
That's the Boba Fett-Cartoon from the Holiday-Special I think...

Info & Offer: Does anybody still need any LD captured?
Time

resonator said:

I'm not gonna do LD-DVD transfers, that's not what I was shooting for. What I COULD do is capture the Laserdiscs I already have and post the raw captures on Usenet for OTHERS to use in their projects. My current pet project is not SW related, but I love this community and I wanted to contribute somehow.
Plus - I'm afaid I can't capture AC3, I don't have an RF modulator.

How are you going to capture and in what format?

Darth Lucas Strikes Again!
Time

http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/brooklyn/forced_flick_nix_R1STAy0HWiY4HJdb5gbHzO

George Lucas may have crossed over to the Dark Side.

In a move worthy of Darth Vader, Lucas' production company plunged a lightsaber through a long-planned "Star Wars" movie marathon at a Brooklyn bar.

Organizers claim Lucasfilm's legal stormtroopers fired off a cease-and-desist order just two days before the event.

Organizers of the 13-hour screening, which had been slated for the Wicked Monk in Bay Ridge on July 3, promptly called it off.

The order cited copyright infringements and added that there was a moratorium on public "Star Wars" screenings.

Mike DeVito, who promoted the event through Facebook, Twitter and a blog, said he was blindsided by the Death Star-like attack -- grousing in true "Star Wars" geek terms that "only a Sith deals in absolutes."

Lucas, he said, "has crossed over" and now gives Vader "a run for his money."

"I've seen the 'Star Wars' movies about 150 times but never in one long run together, and I thought it would be great to put something like this together for like-minded people," DeVito said.

He said more than 200 had been expected to attend the marathon.

"What bothers me most is that they waited until the last minute to notify us, so we couldn't get a chance to try working something out," he groused.

The order said the organizers couldn't show the films because they planned to charge admission. But fliers promoting the event say the only potential cost to patrons was for bar drinks.

Lucas' lawyers also claimed that DeVito and the Wicked Monk hadn't tried to get permission to use "Star Wars" material.

DeVito admitted he'd never thought of it.

"But it wasn't as if we were making money off it," he said.

Lucasfilm did not reply to requests for comment.
