Now that is cool.  I am so hoping any low-grade quality sources were 86'd until better ones were found.  I'm not a huge fan of youtube quality sources as they're usually pretty crappy.

The only extras I have not procured outside the X-Box 360 stuff is the Best Buy Canada bonus disc stuff.  I have the Wal-Mart and Target stuff.

Anyways, I look forward to a well done, well sourced, disc.

I'm not saying that to rag on anyone, of course, I'm just saying -- the guy just put up an entire disc of the thread's puzzle for one and all -- the least you could do is give him a post-# or link to what you said if you're unwilling to reiterate the gist it.

OK here's the deal.

I've been talking to one of the mods over at videoredo. They seem to have fixed the problem that we all have with the enhanced commentary and will implement a fix in the next official version of the program. I'd rather include the enhanced commentary without having to re-encode it.

Once that happens, I'll throw the other extras on there and upload the whole thing. Deal? Nothing will be re-encoded.

ABSOLUTELY! I'd love it! I'd love to be able to replace my DVD :)

Is there artwork for a trilogy? I'd like to put all 3 onto one Blu-ray.

I would have to re-author my disc, since I purchased the Target disc. I assume everyone wants ALL of the unique bonus features on one disc?

It's too bad Babyhum has completely disappeared. I was going to be making a Blu-ray of everything using his original sources.

I just picked up the cheaper version of this because I used a coupon. Ended up being $45 shipped. It's heavy as hell and well put together. The quality, however, is awful. It even mentions on the last page that the highest quality available was 1920x817 so the quality was limited to that.
Awful and sad, for the OT and TPM.

It looks like this problem with kindle vs. ibook has been going on for some time. This sucks. I love my kindle and I really don't want an ipad.

Is uncompressed really what you want? The options for capturing compressed AC3 and DTS bitstreams are the same as before, as far as I know.

I was under the impression it was merely an audio track that lined up with the original movie timing, much like most movie's commentary tracks. However, it's actually an "interactive" movie, so to speak, with the commentators pausing the movie and drawing/diagramming things on the screen. So it wouldn't really be feasible to strip merely the audio track and fuse it into the original bluray rip.

Unless anyone has any ideas, I guess this means we just have to keep the two separate movies? I've wondered if perhaps there's some trickery possible of "fusing" the two tracks of video, so that you can have the option of watching the commentary-edition and have it actively inject the commentary clips of movie-pausing and diagramming. But I imagine something like this wouldn't be possible, or at least feasible.

Anyone here could have ponied up the $700 themselves if they thought it was important enough.

It has been stated multiple times here that a high quality capture will be made, that it is not easy to do due to the state of the disc, and that it will be shared for *free* when it is done. I think that is a pretty good deal that someone spent $700+ of their own cash and is going to share it with everyone for nothing. All one has to do is wait.

It seems that the only payment the archivists expect is patience, why not give it to them?

Plus just the general level of attention it draws. Remember, things on this board are kept low profile for a reason, and with something of this rareness and importance (scenes, alternate takes and angles, etc., that might not exist anywhere else outside of Lucasfilm's archives), it's not a good idea to take chances. Just get it into the hands of those who can be trusted, in both the first pass rough and later high quality capture forms, and the rest will take care of itself...
