Jedi 30th Ann. screening at Pixar...of the original version!

I would even go so far as to be skeptical that it was an original, without a reliable eye witness who would know the difference.  We've heard other screenings make the same claim.

His comments were actually in relation to the lack of CGI and how good some of the puppetry was. So he was specifically talking about things that were eventually changed.

Jedi 30th Ann. screening at Pixar...of the original version!

Just got my new Star Wars Insider yesterday. There's an interview with Phil Tippett and he talks about going to a 30th Anniversary screening of Jedi at Pixar. They screened it to celebrate the release of the "making of" book last year. He talks about how it was an original print that was in fantastic condition.

Is this the first "official" screening we've heard about of an original print?

Hmm, not sure if that is really worth including. the other stuff is all great.

@ digitalfreaknyc

what remains to be done?

Apparently I'm not a part of this any more. I have no idea what Dark Jedi is doing but mine will certainly have stuff that his does not. You'd have to check with him. He doesn't answer my PM's.

Whoops, was totally going to post these links last night and... didn't.  My bad.

The videos seem to have taken a little bit of a hit in quality; I assume that's due to some kind of compression YouTube has going in the background?  I dunno.  But it should still give a good idea of how they'll look.

One more thing: the videos are unlisted, so please don't share them too widely.  Thanks.

Hi, all.  First off, let me say how encouraging it was to find this thread!  You guys are awesome for working at getting this thing together.  :)

I read through the thread again but I wasn't entirely sure if these are still needed to complete the collection - I own the SmartGlass version of Into Darkness and I was able to capture the deleted scenes with Bandicam.  If they're needed, I can redo the capture (I did it with the free version of the program so the Bandicam watermark is ever-present) and throw the files at whoever needs them; just let me know.

That would be brilliant -- Please! I'm halfway through the process of acquiring the Best Buy goodies, so this would put us close to the mark!

I'm confused. How many versions are there now of this?

What is the delivery format on this? Is it HD?

Now that is cool.  I am so hoping any low-grade quality sources were 86'd until better ones were found.  I'm not a huge fan of youtube quality sources as they're usually pretty crappy.

The only extras I have not procured outside the X-Box 360 stuff is the Best Buy Canada bonus disc stuff.  I have the Wal-Mart and Target stuff.

Anyways, I look forward to a well done, well sourced, disc.

:)

There is no "Wal-Mart stuff."

7 pages for me, as well. And I second that suggestion.

DFNYC -- you need to hit "refresh" every now and again on the interwebs.

;)

Nope. Your settings are different from mine. I must have more posts displayed per page than you guys.

Regardless, if you're going to be posting in a thread that's only 4 (or 7) pages long, wouldn't you rather be caught up on the progress of said project instead of flailing?

Is the attitude really necessary? Not everyone is able to spend the time reading through every single page of any/every forum thread on the internet before posting. I'd wager there's probably a thread or two on the interwebs that you haven't read from start-to-finish before posting in. And it doesn't help that the forum is void of search-function and user's-posts abilities.

You could've spent half the time and words reiterating what your answer was, and it would've also had the "bonus" of being a more recent reminder for any newcomers to the thread.

And for what it's worth, Oso has done more for this thread at this point than pretty much anyone else, myself included. I'm not saying that to rag on anyone, of course, I'm just saying -- the guy just put up an entire disc of the thread's puzzle for one and all -- the least you could do is give him a post-# or link to what you said if you're unwilling to reiterate the gist it.

Nothing personal, though.

This thread is only 4 pages long. What I wrote was on the last page. Does one really need a search engine for that? ;)

Nothing personal though.

I'd rather include the enhanced commentary without having to re-encode it.

Agreed. BTW, do you have the 1080p version of it? Seems to be not the default setting in iTunes...

There is no 1080p version. It's 720p only.

No offense but do you guys actually read the threads you post in? Or just post whatever you want.

Hint: page 3.

The only hint I found is that you claim to have the disc, but have you uploaded its content anywhere?

Then you probably should re-read it. I explicitly stated what my plan was.

Once the project is complete, would someone be willing to burn all the bonus material to blu-ray discs for me (doesn't matter how many discs it takes, as long as I have everything). I don't have a blu-ray burner so I couldn't do anything with the HD files except play them on my computer.  I will gladly share any rare DVDs and fan edits I have in exchange.

I have never made a BD before, and we are missing the Best Buy disc anyway ... does anyone have it? I mean the actual disc?

Yes. I was including it.

OK here's the deal.

I've been talking to one of the mods over at videoredo. They seem to have fixed the problem that we all have with the enhanced commentary and will implement a fix in the next official version of the program. I'd rather include the enhanced commentary without having to re-encode it.

Once that happens, I'll throw the other extras on there and upload the whole thing. Deal? Nothing will be re-encoded.

Someone (no names) jumped the gun and sent it to some people it shouldn't have been sent to in the unfinished state it was in, but eyes were now watching. So, yeah. Whatever was put out there by this individual is now what you get. One bad anxious apple ruined it for the whole basket. WB should now send this complete team in to work on restoring from the actual elements. Make it "official" already. Ain't gonna happen you know.

Step back. Any upload titled 'Superman The Movie Restored International Cut', 'Superman The Movie KCOP' or 'Superman The Movie Salkind' or variations thereof cuts were in no way shared by myself, phineas, Mitch nor Superman1978.com, its associated websites (SupermanII.com, SupermanIII.com, SupermanIV.com and SupergirlTheMovie.com) or message board or OriginalTrilogy.com and are solely the responsibility of original uploader.

I hope you enjoy whatever versions are available and the hard work that went into their making.

So the version that was uploaded by Jim Bowers is unfinished?

BlackMagic has several devices that capture uncompressed multi-channel audio; the second sentence notes the cheapest one I know of.

Is uncompressed really what you want? The options for capturing compressed AC3 and DTS bitstreams are the same as before, as far as I know.

My apologies. I should have said....uhh....un-recompressed (is that a word?) video and multi-channel audio. :)
