Are there any screenshot comparisons between the GOUT and 35mm? Just curious to see the upgrade.
Only in the shots that are 100% GOUT (because the 2.5 shot resembles that, though it’s obviously further processed). Admittedly, it’s a bit hard to tell the difference in some for a single scaled down screenshot, but it’s more noticeable in motion. Darth Lucas’s saber element upgrade from GOUT is immediately clear even with the screenshot.
That’s what I meant. I’m just curious to see the detail/resolution difference between the GOUT and a 35mm scan.

Just an idea for another audio track would be the “cine-concert” one performed live by John Williams and his orchestra that took place at the premiere, I believe, and that should be on the NTSC DVD as it is on my PAL.

What about the behind the scenes segment from “60 Minutes”? I’ve been looking for it online but only found SD recordings.
I recorded it from TV. There are certain segments that are web-only and are only low quality.
I have a full disc of bonus features that weren’t included in the Blu-ray but this won’t have enough room. Don’t bother. Just work on the movie.
There’s a new BTS feature about the costumes of TFA thats now exclusively available on itunes, but it seems its only for people who purchased the movie through them.

would I also be eligible for you to send me a copy, I know I didn’t really do anything but I feel like im a big part of it for suggesting it in the first place, plus im just so blown away about how quickly everyone jumped on this its nice to see my one man quest to find out if an HD version existed not only proved successful but also became a preservation my only regret is not being able to help gathering sources, perhaps one day I too will be able to assist in a project id really appreciate it btw how big do you think the file would be, my internet sucks and id really like a copy but depending on size I might not be able to download (without it taking an insane amount of time)

The first 3/4 is not really official or unique material, aside from the Storybook. Not my interest at all.
The last few are all on later editions.
This is about 1/3 done. Everything is synced (inserted 2x deleted scenes from BD, removed shotgun) and ‘specialized’ about 40 minutes worth. Had to adjust the contrast of the 20th footage since it was a bit washed out looking, which really shows off the pixelation of the rip in night scenes. But yeah, two shots so far seem to have some corrupted video going on, so the other rip will be helpful. 😃

People need to stop quoting IMDB like it’s gospel. It’s a Wikipedia for movies before Wikipedia was out - user cultivated and generated. It can be (and frequently is) wrong.

I agree the 720p version seems to have more detail, Im not exactly an expert on upscaling and quality control but being the blu ray is 1080p and this is 720p wouldn’t it fit better if both sources were 720p because the upscale clearly looks darker and less detailed than the blu ray would, I think the 720p footage mixed with the blu ray even if it were a combination of 720p (for the 20th anniversary footage) and 1080p (for the blu ray) would go together quite nicely, unless it possible fore some one to clean it up a bit and make it more seamlessly match (the blu ray looks incredible, to say the least is seems like it would be hard to match without a true 1080p source) I am sure it will look good regardless anyway then its just a matter of syncing the audio which seems like it wont be too hard

I think that 720p and 1080p are closer than most people think. I’d rather one source be upgraded than downgraded. This isn’t like it’s going to be a Harmy version with multiple editions. It’s one and done. Might as well do it right the first time.
I would use the Blu-ray as a base and upscale the 720 as needed and then use the DTS track as the main audio. Watch out because the 720 isn’t cropped as much as mine is and is a slightly off AR. You might need to crop.
Well, I guess this is another case of a direct-stream broadcast 720p being better than a 1080i re-encode by the Hauppauge.

I had someone capture it from HDNET movies. If someone is going to create a hybrid version utilizing the original film, I’d be happy to supply it. Would love it synced with the DTS track.
