I can’t find anything confirming or denying it. The only way to find out would be for an expert to rip the audio and visual or something.

There is no way in Hell it will be the original version. Anyone who says otherwise is starting ridiculous rumors.

My friend has it on goodish authority that this is the unaltered version.

Your friend is 100% wrong.

How do you know? Are you from the future?

No. I’m from the present that’s sane, realistic and based in fact. This concert series is run by the same people regardless of venue. This isn’t changing.

How about instead of beings a debie downer lets just wait and see.

Ok. Sure.

Info: Jaws - PCM mono track

If there’s any interest in a preservation, I have both the Signature and 1995 letterbox LDs and can capture the raw PCM mixes. I also have the rare 2 hour cut of THE SHARK IS STILL WORKING, which was recently released on the Blu-ray, but was cut down by Universal and rescored due to licensing issues. I think a definitive JAWS Blu-ray could be made with the resources on this site.

The original was 3+ hours.

Are you sure you have the original?

Sea of Love (Thrillers Edition) - VHS. Extended version of the film. Nothing noted on the box. Contains deleted scenes from tv version but uncensored.

I can’t find anything on a Thrillers Edition, Could it be the Collectors Edition?

Nope.

I own it and did a transfer of it. It was released in the late 90’s.

Do you still own it to maybe take a few screenshots of the slipcase for release information?

I think I still do. There’s nothing on the slipcover that says anything about it being extended. Hell, even the runtime is wrong.

There seems to be an obvious answer in all this that is very sensible and also everyone wins in some way…

I think Mike may have finally found the solution to “I want”, “you want”, “we want” ok rip up the contracts let’s do this!

It’s a fair call on the cat and mouse play, well done!

Going back last year some conference, there was a guy from Sony going on about 4k and HDR and stuff and where things are headed for home video. I said to him “But like a lot of these films don’t look the same anymore…” He said “oh it’s just a bit of fun” so there you have it, a bit of fun. Well perhaps you can give them a better version of serious fun 😉

Considering the Sony discs are, by far, the best UHD discs out there…

Pearl Harbor - Director's Cut in HD on HBO (anyone have this?)

This link is a comparison between the theatrical cut and the director’s cut.

https://www.movie-censorship.com/report.php?ID=1971890

The long and the short of it is this:
The director’s cut is approx. 69 seconds longer than the theatrical cut and there are scenes exclusive in the Director’s cut. However, some scenes from the theatrical cut have been extended and others have been trimmed.

???

I know the differences. That’s not what I was asking about. Did you read what I wrote?

HBO is now showing the Director’s Cut in HD, supposedly. I don’t have HBO but this would be the first I’ve ever heard of it airing in HD ever. Does anyone have it and could check it out?

Would be nice to do a combo of it and the official blu to make a great looking HD version. Not sure how you’d go about making it 23.976 instead of 29.97, though.

Anyone?

The Last Jedi: Official Review and Opinions Thread ** SPOILERS **

Not sure why so many folks aren’t understanding Luke’s death. He didn’t wear out from mental exhaustion, he willed himself to the force, just like Obi-Wan, and he said he was going to do it to Kylo beforehand, just like Obi-Wan did to Vader. And clearly he intends to haunt Kylo.

Last I checked, Obi-wan was killed by Vader.

Luke did something we’ve never seen any other Jedi do before. He projected a solid version of himself across unimaginable distances and could interact with Leia and even Threepio. That had to come with a price. In the end, Luke saved the day one last time and went out a hero.

I didn’t get that from the movie at all. If that had been communicated more clearly to the audience it might not have felt so insulting to me.

It wasn’t. And repeat viewings don’t help

Oh. Ok.

And we’re supposed to believe that Leia Poppins coming back to life and speeding through space didn’t kill her?

This movie is an utter joke.

You’re in the spoiler thread. Perhaps you don’t need sunglasses but reading glasses.

For a film that hasn’t come out to the general public yet it may have been somewhat of a surprise to see that review with the content included (especially your first line of the spoilers you posted).

It may have been better / a little more considerate to have stated that you have seen film beforehand - then left a fair large blank space between that and the start of your spoilers - to give fellow members a choice.

It’s…a…spoilers…thread.

I didn’t realize its inconsiderate to post spoilers in the spoilers thread.

I’m a forum moderator, (see sig file) I have to peek in here once in a while. Especially this week. 😛

Then Godspeed Silverwook. 😂😂😂
