Finn saying R2 was a little awkward… like there wasn’t really a point. Having Finn say “look sharp” is similar to saying “get ready” which I felt made more sense to the scene the way it was cut down.
I dunno… the joke lands for me, not just the 3PO line, but the idea that the babbling little guy would go out of his way to secretly aid the resistance movement, I think it is meant to be outlandish and comical in the right kind of cheesy way. He doesn’t need to appear again at the end, it has enough of a payoff in and of itself: first we don’t expect this “black market droidsmith” to be a tiny frog fella, then we don’t expect the tiny droidsmith to help out in such a fashion after meeting him. It fits with the idea that good people are willing to stand (and would be even more fitting if the ‘rebellious Kijimi’ ideas are implemented).
I feel nitpicking that one line is just taking things way too serious, the kind of person that would have a legit gripe over this would probably have a problem with just about everything else in this movie. And again it’s a matter of weighing the options and I think it does more harm than good to alter/remove things and cut Jannah’s introduction even shorter for the sake of changing this.
Yeah, I got my participation trophy!
Could I get a link to this ?

I passed this project along to someone I encountered through work who mentioned thinking about rewatching TCW but said, “But there’s no way I can do allll that again.”
I started rewatching the Clone Wars in July of 2019, almost done with Season 5 lol
No Episode 9?
Not to change topics but what is the status on the crackling saber effect for V2?

Further, removing the dialogue doesn’t solve the problem of gathering such a large force so quickly. You would need added scenes to do that.
To clarify, I’m not proposing a better justification for assembling the fleet so quickly. I’m proposing eliminating the very idea that the fleet was assembled so quickly to begin with, but rather that it was already assembled by the time TROS begins. Poe’s lines are a hurdle to this change because, as one of the Resistance’s top leaders (and THE co-General by the time of the final battle), he would presumably have some idea of the fleet’s actual size.
Yeah, this make sense. I honestly expected Lando or Poe would transmit an inspiring message to the worlds much like Ezra or Mon Mothma did in Rebels, asking them to meet Lando at some kind of rendezvous point. Not saying all the people in the galaxy wouldn’t be instantly swayed by Lando’s charm but it feels a bit of a reach to think the Falcon visited the systems one by one (considering most of them were also besieged by First Order forces) in such a short span.
This is the canon answer. He went in person to a few places but he beamed an inspirational message to the rest.
If you rode Star Tours when TROS released you got to see Lando’s message and everything.
Apparently Disney just updated TROS on D+ with a completely different color correction with less blue. No idea why they did that but it’s kinda funny.
Are you sure? I just did some comparisons between the Blu Ray and the current D+ version and they look identical…

Train an AI voice based on Hayden Christensen and use it to redub all of Anakin’s lines.
Better yet, replace all of Hayden’s lines in ATOC and ROTS with Matt Lanter. This will require meticulously replacing each word to match the timing of Hayden’s mouth.
Wow, I really couldn’t tell that “and” was supposed to be there. It just looks like she’s opening her mouth! This is such a great subtle change.
I personally think we should keep it to the original four ghosts. They’re the most important ones to the story of the saga, and the others (besides maybe Ahsoka) never learned the force ghost thingy. Plus, at this point in the film Leia’s body is still physically present.
Regarding that intro, I feel like what Lucasfilm is doing is having one intro for Live-Action material and another for Animated material.

There’s also a shot of the torture chamber where Chewbacca is kept. It might work to have Rey see that when she senses Chewie is still alive.
That is a more creative use for it than I ever had.
There are some amazing shots of the Executor-class Star Destroyer, including interiors. An amazing Skellig Michael shot, a very long Vaders Castle shot, along with a Tatooine flyover. As far as Ascendant is concerned I think that’s all that useful.
There so much HQ footage now that we can pull from and add stuff to! Its amazing!
The Babu Frick line is just classic Star Wars nonsense to me and I would hate to see it go. Plus it keeps the scene at a length that doesn’t truncate the movie even more. Plus, why would Janna offer to take them to the wreckage if she has no idea who they are?
Why are we cutting the mention of Babu Frick again?
I just feel like some of these new ideas stretch into the realm of being easily noticable. In the past, and for V1, the desire to make all edits as clean as possible was abundant, but now some of the changes appear to be more… “fan-editty”
I feel like we’ve gotten to the point where we’re just changing things for the sake of changing things…
Really the only thing I would think to add-in from the Joss cut is the conversation with Flash and Batman before the first fight with Steppenwulf
I feel like the lava shot is out of place, since the three shots surrounding it all focus on the three ties journeying from space to forest. While the lava shot leaves out those ties.
As much as people would hate it… The Justice League extended edition with all scenes, Snyder and Whedon, put in. Continuity be crushed

Make Luke’s ghost in TROS green to “honor” the Irishness of Ach-To.
WAIT WAIT HEAR ME OUT!
We only see… what? four force ghosts throughout the whole Saga? Why not have each force ghost glow a different color?
Obi-Wan could be white
Yoda could be green
Anakin could be blue
Luke could be teal?
We could make the TIE on Pasana the same TIE from TLJ? (of course non of us are miracle workers)
