Agreed. I think their reactions make sense.

I disagree. I think that when you further establish the friendship of obi wan and Anakin it makes all the events in the OT mean more. This is obviously theoretically speaking (since the actual prequels did a terrible job of establishing them as friends).

By focusing on Anakins fall and the tradegy of it, his redemption in ROTJ means even more. So, merely explaining backstory isn’t a reason to focus on Obi Wan and Anakin but the true reason is to make so many aspects of the OT more emotionally resonant.

Do I wish the prequels didn’t focus on Obi Wan and Anakin? No.

Do I wish the prequels did the relationship more justice? Yes.

Glad you don’t drink. I’ve been sober since March 5th. But last weekend I bought 2 Crystal Heads with the idea of crashing and burning. But somehow I stopped short. I didn’t even open them. They’re still sitting in the corner. It’s not that I’m not tempted. It’s more that I hate myself too much to give me such an easy out. I’d rather keep them there. Tormenting me. Wonderful stuff.

The change is that before Qui-Gon even encounters Anakin, you see a few scenes of his life as a slave and a podracer. My edit will contain two podraces, one where Anakin loses second place to sebulba and another one where he uses Qui-Gon’s advice and wins the race. Both races have been edited very differently. Neither races will use the exact same shot twice, they’ve been edited into one-lap races as well.

The first race contains many racer death scenes and showcases Sebulba cheating, it will contain Anakin’s conversations with both his mother and Sebulba before the race. It shows how dangerous the races can be and how much Anakin risks every time he goes out onto the track. The music is intense and holds suspense, the entire first race is about 4-5 minutes long. The second race is more about Anakin’s emotions and his first time truly accepting and channeling the force, it will only contain Qui-Gon’s words to Anakin before the race. It will be scored with much more emotional music and hopefully it’ll feel very much like the final trench run with Luke in ANH. Both races will be edited to feel both fresh and non-repetitive.

Jar Jar will make a short appearance on Tatooine in the edit but he will be color-corrected and dubbed. He’ll just be portrayed as an alien that exists in the universe but isn’t really a character. Same thing goes for the Gungan who announces chancellor Palpatine’s election in one of my clips, he’s just an anonymous Gungan, not Jar Jar.

I will upload clips for all of this once I have some dialogue recorded for Anakin, the voice actor I’ve picked has quite a bit of experience in plays and has also done a few commercials. I’m confident that he’ll be able to bring the emotion that the character needs in his line delivery.

Only if you sit there and compare the two! Eventually everything is going to look shoddy compared to the latest new thing. As far as modern standards go, I’d say that in most viewer’s homes a 720p movie on a big screen telly (especially when given Adywan’s care) is going to look perfectly good.

Maybe once a super-duper-brand-harry-spankers new official version is released on ultra HD some fan editor will do what Ady has done again.

I, personally, don’t plan on going past 1080p HD for the foreseeable future so the fact the Revisited Saga is “only” in 720p doesn’t really bother me.

Nice photoshop and work in all but the 2004 and 2006 DVDs I thought had absolutely terrible art.

In ROTS (Labyrinth of Evil 😉) palpatine convinces Anakin to join the dark side because the sith embrace all aspects of the force and that the Jedi are corrupt and wrong. Whereas in ROTJ he just says “you’ll turn to the dark side”. You understand how Anakin turns cause Palptine convinced him that what is presented as wrong is right. Luke is simply told that he should do what’s wrong. It really seemed like the emperor used reverse psychology on Luke.

I buy all movies on blu Ray considering it gives you the best possible home experience with beautiful transfers and incredible surround sound. Then I’ll torrent a copy of each movie AFTER Iv bought the blu Ray to put on my phone and computer if I wanna watch it.
