Star Wars Episode I: Cloak Of Deception (Released)

Problem has been diagnosed: all my sequences and nested sequences do not have the audio panned left or right like they need to, so anything in the left or right channels is heard in both. The solution is to pan everything on the left and right tracks left or right.
The problem now is that this needs to be done not just to the top level sequence, but to every clip inside every nested sequence. FCP7 appears to only be able to change this one sequence at a time, and so I need to systematically go through and do these things in a labyrinth of nested sequences without missing anything or losing track of where I am. Not all sequences are even listed in the list, so I truly would need to go from left to right in the timeline, going deeper and deeper each time there’s a nested sequence, and work my way back up. It would take quite a long time, so I am still searching for a quicker solution. It makes no difference how I export anything, because fixing the issue at the top level doesn’t fix it at the deeper levels and so the problem comes from the bottom up.

Sorry to hear about this Hal 😦 If it makes you feel any better, Iv watched your amazing edits multiple times by myself and with company and no one thought there was any problems with the audio.

Abrams was interviewed by Empire magazine a little while after his announcement as director. They asked him which versions he showed to his children, he replied something along the lines of, “The original theatricals, that’s very important.”

I’ve tried to find the issue with the interview (both in my flat and online!) but I can’t so you’ll have to take my word for it!!

Question is…did he know of the despecialized editions or did he have to resort to the GOUT DVD’s. Yay for Abrams though! It’s awesome he showed his kids the theatrical

Well, Simon Pegg is like his best bud, so considering this https://twitter.com/simonpegg/status/249553559320928256
I think the odds are pretty good that JJ watches Despecialized at home 😃

That’s awesome!!! It’s great when people find despecialized. Iv tried to always spread the word to friends and families and help them obtain it so long as they own the Offical blu Rays. Simon Pegg is the bomb!!!

The Force Awakens: Official Review Thread - ** SPOILERS **
Time

It’s fun looking back on the experience. Had all my Star Wars gear on that opening night while trudging through a line outside the theatre. My anticipation was unmatched at that point by any other movie. The crowd cheered and laughed plenty. I went out of the theatre with a few minor issues, but still was thoroughly satsified. After watching Chris Stuckmanns “The Star Wars Forumula” video it shows why I think the whole “it’s basically ANH” argument makes no sense. It even pulls off certain similar elements of the story better than ANH. I still prefer ANH over TFA but to this day, I truly have fell in love with these new characters and am sooooo happy we have ourselves another worthy entry into the franchise 😃

Bring on episode 8!!!

P.S I think now that I love the new characters so much, and am anticipating Mark Hamill returning as Luke Skywalker, I can say that episode 8 might even be more anticipated than episode 7 for me.

Zootopia- 6/10

Not very fun. Sloth scene was hilarious but I felt it forgot about being a good movie and spent more time beating you over the head with its political messages. Pixar films like Wall-E, Toy Story, Monsters Inc, Up etc. present touching and resonant messages without making things too political. I agree with some of the messages but the line where she gets called cute and she says “it’s ok for other bunnies to call me cute but not you” (something along those lines) goes too far. I think that’s actually a genuinely bad things to teach kids. Not very fun. My mother and I were so excited for this but it overall was dissapointing.

-New city celebrations/new song (SE)

Add the new song, but please don’t add the cities. It’s so out of place and makes no sense.

I like the cities cause it gives the victory more scope and it can explained by means of the holonet. I will keep this in mind, in case I get more complaints. Then I will reconsider it. Thanks for the suggestion 😃

I preferred the newer emperor for awhile until I thought about a couple key points:

-The original voice isn’t actually all that terrible. It somewhat does resemble the emperors voice but more monotone and direct.
-The look is actually better. It keeps the emperors looks more of a mystery because his face is much more hidden.
-and of course nostalgia. I cannot deny it feeds my passion a bit but it’s the two points above that actually made me prefer this over the SE.

So yes, Ian redoing it in 1983 with superior makeup would have been ideal but between the butchered Halloween makeup style SE and the mysterious Orignal, I prefer the latter.

EDIT: and not to mention, the SE emperors new dialogue is shitty. Makes Vader look like an absolute idiot. He’s looking for Luke the entire movie (stated in crawl) because he’s his son obviously yet he doesn’t know who he is? When I first saw the new dialogue, I’m thinking “Dafuq is this shit?!?”

Is this all your subjective opinion?

Yes it is. Did you think I thought my opinion was objectively correct and everyone else was wrong?

No, I’m just making fun of you for getting so worked up over the whole objective art thing.

I’m quite sure your the one still posting about it.

I’ve used this one for a couple years: https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-External-Blu-ray-SE-506CB-RSBD/dp/B00JJGFRIQ/

edit: huh, looks like they have a few low ratings since I purchased. Not sure if they had a bad batch or if people just don’t know what they’re doing. I’ve recommended it to people here before, and they got it and liked it.

Ok, thanks for the reference towne 😃 I’ll maybe look at some other software options and see what works best within the limited budget of a high school student haha

Gotta agree with Rob here. Thank you for being so cordial and backing up straight away, a lot of hit-and-runners don’t do that.

Hope you enjoy OT.com and stick around!

Indeed! He was politely asking, nothing more.

Doesn’t BD Rebuilder do all that stuff for free?

(At first I was concerned that you were burning standard SD MPEG2 DVDs, but also impressed that someone made an app that converts the menus, but also confused that you would spend money on it instead of an affordable BD burner. I think I’m still confused about the last part, if you go beyond the trial.)

Maybe BDRebuilder does, not sure. I appreciate the responses guys. Do you have a recommended BD burner? Thanks

Ok, Iv got good news for those who don’t have blu Ray burners 😃

Firstly, thank you njvc for these amazing professional blu Rays. It means the world to me and many others.

Concerning burning these to DVD’s:

I’m on vacation so I haven’t tried the program yet but it is called “CloneBD”. It is a paid program but I’m willing to pay up to have such amazing blu Rays (or maybe get away with a free trial?).

So far, I believe it has the ability to copy a full blu Ray with all menus, subtitles, and audio tracks with its blu Ray copy features. Your export disc formats seem to be BD50, BD25, DVD9, and DVD5.

I’m not looking to just copy the film but the menus, subtitles and audio tracks, and chapters. Pretty much the whole schabang just compressed onto a DVD9. Many others probably want this too.

So yah… If anyone wants to further research if this program could actually pull this off then that would be great.

Again thanks for everything njvc! 😃

Finding Dory 8/10

The trailers made it look pretty terrible but I was shocked at how good it was! It still did follow the same formula as the first and had some replaced voice actors it was still really good. Check it out!

Very Exicted to check this out! I thought the trailers did look terrible also but the reviews seem promising 😃

Would you say it’s better than Monsters University ? (which I happened to enjoy a fair bit)

Objectively so.

Fuck off

TFA: A Gentle Restructure (Released)

I think everything so far is very promising Hal! The one thing I don’t think I could ever get over is the music cuts. They’re too hard and noticeable. I suggest waiting for Smithers release of TFA with music removed. He said he would do that first before any other episodes so f that’s released then I feel this version would be seamless.

Great Work overall! Very exciting 😃

Blurring the line, as you’ve been doing, between new user and troll is what mocks new users and erodes our willingness to help in general. Just hang out and chat with actual sentences, and leave the humor to Frink and the rest for a while till you see how things generally work here, and you might find that you can have a good time without pissing everyone off by confusing the Hell out of them.

OMG! It’s funny reading all these brutal comments and I’m thinking “There’s a whole different set of rules for Frink!?” You actually came right out and admitted it. This has become one of my least favorite communities. You all treat each other like crap, but especially new users. And I apologize for opening my mouth and continuing this in your thread Harmy… but that one just lit me up.

+1 so hella true
