Just checked out a post on his patreon from a viewer who previewed a draft of the edit. Reading through the complaints, it really seems like the editing is quite shabby.

and I don’t get why he opened a thread here if he doesn’t show up from time to time (maybe he does but since he doesn’t login or leaves replies it’s hard to tell). Perhaps we should stop posting his new videos and let him do that himself ? (for example Adywan doesn’t show up very often but he’s a long time member of the community and each time there is something new he posts the news himself in his topic)
I actually was the one who reached out to him early on and said he should post his progress on here. We exchanged some emails over everything and I thought he would actually post progress and gather feedback but I think he interpreted it more as plugging his Youtube channel. Personally I think hundreds of random Youtube comments aren’t as helpful as the responses you could get on here or FE.org.
And I also suggested that he use vimeo for his previews. Oh well…

This looks very promising. Honestly gave me chills. A few things could be touched up in the sound mix but I like the overall idea.
Stephen Colbert’s star wars bit on the late show was not funny.
I responded enthusiastically to my first watch of TLJ, and should emphasize that I don’t agree with the haters on the majority of things they love to complain and rave about it for. BUT on re-watching, it didn’t really hold up. Not because of FEMALES or anything like that, but because the main quality that made me feel excited watching it the first time – its subversiveness and unpredictability – no longer applied. Which meant that all that was left was the basic elements of the film – plot, character development, dialogue, etc. – and they had to stand on their own. And that meant an overlong movie filled with too many jokes that didn’t land, situations that made no sense, and characters that behaved stupidly.
Not to mention the hat trick Johnson pulled to make it feel like he was creating something fresh and bold was obvious on re-watch, and consequently it in fact feels even less original than The Force Awakens at times – i.e. the Snoke scene is literally almost verbatim the same as the Emperor scene in ROTJ, just with a TWIST. Luke sacrificed himself like Obi-Wan did, but it was more EXTREME. And so on. It remains somewhat interesting as a deconstruction of Star Wars, but in the end Johnson didn’t really capture what I personally like about Star Wars. That is especially clear when watched back-to-back with Solo, which DID capture what I like about Star Wars to a greater extent.

Lessons From The Screenplay convinced me to do so with his video on The Last Jedi. I really agree with him on the film, which is that it is one rollercoaster of constant hits and misses.
And in regards to progress on the edit, I have been very busy with school lately. Things should free up dramatically though in the next few days. The edit is in its final stages of completion. (all in addition to getting my Force Awakens edit ready to go)
I think any young fan who wants to legally listen to then badly enough would invest in a cheap portable CD player or a DVD player, which are also super cheap these days. Some models even rip audio files to MP3 now.

I don’t think it’s been mentioned yet, but I also absolutely would take out the “You want to be the new Vader” lines from Snoke to Kylo.
Removing the lines might not make the film darker, but it sounds so corny and un-starwarsy.Everything else has been perfect so far and I support every decision you made.
I’m fine with those lines from Snoke. They highlight that Snoke is well aware of exactly what Kylo wants.

No, it’s shot by shot, so there’s no single LUT, but roughly 4,000 LUTs, 2,000 for the 4k77 scan, and 2,000 for the bluray.
Okay, and I’m assuming you’ll just release a high bitrate video of it rather than thousands of LUT’s for people to apply.
Or at least a Premiere or Resolve project with the shots chopped up and LUTs applied. 😃
