Cobb’s opinion on the Pixar sequels is objectively correct.
Monsters University is a lot of fun. Cars 3 is just plain forgettable.

I really like the new crawl. I do however, still prefer that the original opening line is maintained. You can then have a little more space in the opening paragraph to fit in some information.
By “his son’s” do you mean “his brother-in-law’s”?
I think a lot of people thought that Kylo’s saber in the Last Jedi flashback was Luke’s old saber when really it is just the unmodified version of his crossguard saber.
are you sure? it makes sense that that lightsaber ended up being Kylo’s. “that lightsaber. it belongs to me.”
Frame from the Last Jedi:
But I do agree with you Collipso that it would have made a lot more sense for them to have young Ben use Luke’s old saber. Then it really does belong to him, but oh well.

I’d say go for it, you don’t know whether something will work until it’s tried.
That reminds me though, I was going to try and have some reference to the Force Tree from TLJ in TFA, so that it makes more sense when Rey says that she’s seen it in her dreams.
Maybe there could be a dream sequence where we see the island, then the interior of the tree with the books, before she is awakened in the interrogation room. Have some sort of chanting/music to make it seem like the Force is speaking to her from these texts, and it could go a long way to explaining why Rey is gaining power so quickly.
I really like that idea!
Here is a screen test of Holdo with an ugly looking silverish gray hair. This is just to test changing the hair, not the color, since I would prefer brown hair.
At the end of the day, I don’t know how someone could perfect it. There will always be some purple spots left over like in my screen test above and often other colors in the frame will be changed on accident.
Maybe something like this…
If someone could do this for the Last Jedi that would be great.
The purple hair is just plain distracting. No political agenda I’m trying to push.
I do have a few questions for the community though…
After working out these few things, I’ll begin uploading the edit.
I’ll go through all the questions one by one.
Collipso, thanks for your interest in the edit!
Sorry for the consulted explanation, but my point is that there is no difference except the crawl music is louder and more impactful since I used the ESB version while not letting it run too long to miss TFA music.
I made the removal of Rey correcting Han a while ago on my own. I saw ironman23’s version of the duel, and I was inspired by it but did it differently than him. I guess you could say I was a little more conservative with my cutting of that duel. I forgot to add that I also made Finn lose a lot quicker to Kylo. I made sure to keep as many of Kylo’s cool looking swings and moves though 😃 Finn just never lands a shot and gets beat much quicker.
And yes, the standard version will absolutely use the stabilized helicopter shot from Restructured. It’s one of the best subtle changes in an already amazing edit.
It wasn’t cliche and I didn’t see the story coming. Its atmosphere culminated a sense of dread I haven’t felt in a movie in a long time. The whole vibe was harrowing. It being made as an independent film and then later picked up for major distribution definitely did it some favors as the director was clearly not constrained to follow standard tropes and cliches.
Agreed. There are certain images in the movie that just really stick with you. No other way to put it for me other than it has really stuck with me in a haunting way.
This. And the way the music suddenly gets all ethereal and soothing at the end during the most fucked up part of the movie is beyond twisted and I loved it.
Yes! I’m glad you mentioned the music choice at the end, cause I nearly forgot about that! It was definitely an interesting choice but I felt it really showed how messed up everything was in that moment.
The movie I really want to check out after seeing Hereditary is The Witch.

Hereditary-Holy fuck balls this movie. Woo ooohhhhhhhh. I don’t even know what to say about it, it was fucked up. Lots of balls though it was great. Might write a better review tomorrow when I’ve gathered myself.
Couldn’t have said it better myself. It was quite an experience for myself as well.
Cool. So this doesn’t use DigMod’s late Kylo reveal, correct?
It does not. Mainly just his nips and tucks that he did throughout the movie. I did however leave a few of my favorite jokes that were cut in his edit while cutting some that Digi left in.
Main Idea of the Edit
How I would describe this edit is that it is basically what Octorox has done with the prequels. I have taken elements of some of my favorite force awakens edit, as well as adding many of my own custom edits.
Versions of the Edit:
This goes hand in hand with the versions of my Last Jedi edit. There is a “Time Passage” edition where the film ends with the Falcon jumping to hyperspace, and then there is the “Standard Version” which ends as the original.
Cut List:
I have used The Force Awakens Restructured by Hal9000 as the base of my edit, then I took much of what DigiMod did with his awesome Heir to the Force edit to add onto that. I then went through the film and added any other cuts that I felt were needed.
Here is the link to my color coded cutlist which lets you see what I borrowed from each edit.
I have grown tired of the forum, as I obviously don’t gel well with many here so I might be taking a break soon from everything besides my edit threads.
Haha, the stream chat is on fire! Now we’re just a bunch of jealous assholes for questioning the Patreon and asking him to visit his thread from time to time. Oh well…
Lol, the comments are hilarious.
Begun the fanediting wars have…
He’s doing a live stream right now about Patreon.
Yeah, I’d check it out cause he is talking specifically about OT.com
It has been brought to my attention that my fix has created some unwanted attention to the fan editing community.
As well, that some users have wanted to report me. Because of that I will not be posting anymore here.Thank you for everyone that has followed me and given me their time.
I don’t want to come off rude, but its not like you were posting here at all in the first place.
I hope they don’t think that Ivan’s edit is the first fan edit of the last Jedi.
Trust me, half of them most likely do.

No Mala, I’m asking you about your post. Not OutboundFlight’s.
Lol
Jesus Christ, his poor followers on Patreon. If they only knew…
What frustrates me is that the Youtube comments are a terrible way to get feedback. It’s people who probably haven’t seen a quality fan edit before, and are fine with basically anything. It’s just annoying that he would prioritize Youtube subscribers over making a quality edit. He is just one man but he obviously has the time.
This is a fantastic idea.
Am I the only one who likes luke throwing the saber?, Oh well…
Good idea. Terrible execution.
