This hasn’t been mentioned before. Could you be a little more specific?

Sure, when Boussh speaks around the 14:45 mark, I believe you can hear the thermal detonator beeping when she speaks. This is when Chewbacca is being taken away. I thought it was Boussh’s lines reused from 14:30, which would explain why you can hear the detonator “beeping”, but I might be wrong.

Hmm, yah, it is faintly there. It’s always passed unnoticed to me just because it is so soft and quiet. It kind of blends into the background noise.

Ranking the Star Wars films
Time

ktkore said:

My rankings are as follows:

 1. Return of the Jedi
 2. Empire Strikes Back
 3. A New Hope
 4. The Force Awakens
 5. Rogue One
 6. Revenge of the Sith
 7. Attack of the Clones
 8. The Phantom Menace

Sometimes I switch between Return and Empire but I think overall I find Jedi to be more fun and I loved the ending the most of of all of them.

It’s always fun to see Return of the Jedi ranked high. Although I don’t rank it as high as you, I agree wholeheartedly about the ending. Really well done and emotional.

I laughed, but then I read his last post, and I think you aren’t making him suffer enough.

Well i was going to release ESB:R next month, but i think i will leave that until 2020 just to make him suffer more after his comment 😉

I am just fine with this plan of action Ady 😉

TFA: A Gentle Restructure (Released)

I won’t be doing anything that radical with this simple, concentrated edit on the SKB restructuring. But, the finished edit could easily be used as source material for one that implements any of these other ideas.

This sounds like what this edit should be. Restructuring the movie already requires enough work and it should have our full attention.

Just checked it out, and it might have context since Leia just came from the site of a FO attack, and no one seems to know the Starkiller’s specific target until it fires.
Can anyone remove the time code, though?

I recall someone doing the same thing with the “Kyle on the falcon” deleted scene. From what I saw, it was done pretty masterfully.

One more suggestion for V2 - Due to the Hosnian system surviving into act 3, the scene where Leia asks Korr Sella to go to the Hosnian system can be reinserted after Leia’s introduction. It would have to appear before Leia learns about the Starkiller base from the reconnaisance/Finn, but after she returns to the resistance base. Therefore, the only possible place it could work is right after Finn and Poe’s reunion, after Finn’s line ‘I need your help’.

I just saw this scene (search ‘Leia and the Resistance’ on Youtube), and in my opinion it is essential. A wonderful Leia AND Carrie moment.

Just watched this scene and I LOVED it! Really some good stuff from Carrie 😃

The Force Awakens: Official Review Thread - ** SPOILERS **

The fact that he wants to be Vader and Rey learns that’s he’s afraid he’ll never be is one of the best parts of their respective characters. Ren’s flaws make him more interesting.

This was something truly incredible about Force Awakens. I absolutely loved Adam Drivers acting when she says “…that you’ll never be as powerful as Darth Vader”. In that moment he feels so violated and like she finally discovered his darkest secret. I’m excited to see this play out further in episode 8.

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION

Ronster said:

Because of “Rogue One” it has made me very interested in the original film again. I watched the original Battle of Yavin and then I watched the Revisited Version.

I then set about Color Correcting the Original Version just for fun and then I noticed the Pilots Jumpsuits keep changing color and a lot of the Cockpit shots of all the Rebel Pilots have moments where they are in the wrong Hue.

But I then thought hang on… I prefer the Battle of Yavin in ANH Revisited in a lot of Ways but I also like the Original in a lot of ways too. But I noticed the pilots Jumpsuits were still off in a lot of shots in Revisited.

I am currently putting together a version of the Battle of Yavin with Extra shots and alterations using Revisited as the main source but it’s going to be expanded in certain areas and cut in different areas restoring quite a few original shots and basically I am working on a Re-Hash of the Battle of Yavin ONLY and have done color correction on a large number of shots to sort the Jumpsuits out and also various other shots.

My question is. Do you mind if I share it when it’s finished? There is no Disrespect towards your work here at all in the slightest. I think I have made a number of Changes that are enhancing things slightly in different areas and making a sort of unusual Hybrid. It’s still quite a way off from being finished I’d say about 65-70% done I have quite a few ideas and I am just having some fun no intention of a serious all bells and whistles Project.

If you want me to be more specific about what I am doing then I can be. If you want me to share it with you first then I don’t have a problem with that either so as you can give it a thumbs up or thumbs down (Even in it’s current unfinshed state). It’s just a bit of fun. But I won’t Share it without your permission.

Of course this comes down to Ady but I’m in full support Ronster. Sounds like a wonderful idea!

I just had the chance to watch and just wanted to let you know that I thought you did a fantastic job. I did make a few notes I wanted to share with you while I watched it. I know you have already done your version 2.0 so I apologize if you have already changed any of this.

Thank you for all the praise!

• Someone may have pointed this out, but when Bib Fortuna speaks to Leia in disguise, you can faintly hear the clicks of the thermal detonator when she responds to him even. I would suggest trying to use a different line if there is one that is possibly cleaner. Otherwise, I would just not have her say anything. I know you have your version 2.0 pretty solidified, this would be the only thing I would really like you to consider looking at if you haven’t already.

This hasn’t been mentioned before. Could you be a little more specific?

• Also, I would also vote to cut that whole reveal shot of Lando if possible. Even though you cut out him slowly pulling his mask down, he still awkwardly bumps his helmet against the ceiling. And I think when Lando reaches out for Leia when Luke falls into the pit is a little more subtle reveal.

You’ll be happy to know that the Lando mask shot is completely gone in Version 2.0 😃

• For the ghost Obi-Wan scene, although I’m not really a fan of using prequel music in the OT, I think that track is a good choice for that moment.

Thank you! And the nice thing is, if you watch Hal9000’s prequel edits, the music I used for that scene is from a scene that Hal removed so the music never repeats itself.

• With the scene of Luke revealing the truth to Leia, was there a reason you decided to remove Han coming onto the bridge? You could cut the jealousy out to just make it seems like he’s just concerned and is comforting her. I’m guessing the audio cuts might be noticeable when cut that way. I don’t think not having it makes a big difference though.

Your correct about the rough audio cuts. Both Ziggy and Yads tried this for they’re edits and the audio cut is way too jarring.

• Wonderful job with the battle! I think you’ve really simplified the battle and really got rid of the campiness of the Ewoks. The Ewoks definitely just seem like a distraction now. I didn’t notice any audio issues either so well done.

Thank you again! I was surprised myself with how well the audio cuts worked in the entire third act.

• I think since you’re keeping force ghost Anakin, having him disappear works really well. Would you say that Luke just burns his suit to memorialize him, or to destroy the last piece of Vader maybe, rather than actually burning a body?

That’s what I have always implied since I did this change.

Anyway, just wanted to say great job and point those few things out to you. Sorry if this feedback is a little late or redudant. I appreciate all of the work you put into this.

Thank you so much! Version 2.0 will be far superior. I have my FULL cut list for the final version updated in the first post.

I still haven’t gotten a chance to watch the whole thing, I’ve only skipped around. From what I’ve seen, you’ve done some nice work! Good job.
One thing I noticed:
The subtitles for “I will not give up my favorite decoration” and “I like Captain Solo where he is” look different than the others. To me it looks like Ziggy’s edit was used there for some reason. Was that intentional?

Yes. It leads into the droid torture sequence where I lovingly borrowed audio from his edit to remove the screaming of a droid. And since he also removed one of the 3PO’s lines I wanted gone, it was convenient to use it there. And I was aware of the subtitle differences but the differences are BARELY noticeable.

It’s a tiny detail that’s utterly inconsequential, but seeing this guy in R1 actually made me squeal with delight. Don’t know why it made me so happy, but it did. Maybe because it could be the closest I’ll get to seeing SW77 on the big screen.

I really enjoyed the shot of him as Rogue One pulls away, standing there doing nothing.

If I’m right, isn’t this a shot of Jyn, Cassian and K2SO leaving for Jedha?

(seriously, f*ck J.J. Abrams).

A little much,no?

Why? TFA is nothing but a remake of the first SW and for that it gets a massive point deduction in my book. When I went to see TFA I did so with the expectation of living a new experience, not to see a repeat of what came before.

Does that require you to tell Abrams to f**k himself?

Straighten up and show some respect, even if you didn’t like the movie. I still have an ungodly amount of respect for George Lucas despite his shortcomings with the prequels.

I’m really stressing out over something that I shouldn’t be stressing out over. I’m taking a ton of AP classes this year (and last year) which is difficult but challenging in a fun way…usually. Last year I got a 4.0. This year I have all A’s except one class. I have worked my ass off and I’m gonna be probably ending up with a B+. I know this shouldn’t mean anything since most people I know would love to have even a B in some of their classes. I’m just very worked up over this sort of shit and my parents expect a lot out of me. The most relieving thing is when I remind myself that it literally doesn’t mean shit that I’m getting a B+ in a class. All my friends are nice and try to get a good laugh out of how stressed I always am about my grades. But in a way, now I’m kind of happy that I’m losing the 4.0. A 3.95 GPA with less worrying about perfection sounds a helluva lot better.

I apologize for ranting about a god damn B+. I’m surprised I didn’t delete this post because of how much of an idiot I sound like. I just really don’t want to have people not think I’m smart just because I got one B+.

Good grades are a fantastic goal, and I applaud you for pushing yourself towards them. But at the same time, it’s okay to not run yourself ragged chasing them. I ended my undergrad career with a 3.89 GPA. Still made the Dean’s List every year and still graduated Summa Cum Laude and still got the nifty honors cords. By the time I did my master’s degree, none of that stuff was even tracked anymore (GPA sure, but there’s no fanfare for being a 4.0 over a 3.5). Once you get out of academia, it doesn’t really matter at all anymore.

Definitely push yourself to be your best, but don’t be too hard on yourself if you fall short, just regroup and hit it hard again. That’s what I’m trying to get at. Your GPA doesn’t dictate your intelligence.

Thank you for the encouragement Tyrphanax!

Everybody's Top Ten Favorite Movies
Time

Ugh, this list is hard because my parents never allowed any rated R movies screened at our house. Obviously I have been able to see a few but I can definitely see this list being quite different a few years into college, when I get some time to explore Hitchcock, Kubrick, and Tarantino. Nevertheless, here it goes…

 1. The Empire Strikes Back (Absolute Perfection in my books)
 2. STAR WARS (Just a smidge below number 1, but still perfection)
 3. Lord of the Rings Trilogy (Epicness at it’s best)
 4. It’s A Wonderful Life (Emotionally beautiful)
 5. Spotlight (stuck with me a lot. Directed masterfully.)
 6. Back to the Future (A classic since childhood)
 7. Arrival (favorite sci-fi movie of all time)
 8. Inception (my favorite nolan film)
 9. Captain America : The Winter Soilder (Most would put TDK as their comic book movie of their top 10 list, but I digress)
 10. Rocky (inspiring and very re-watchable)

Man, I’m already regretting every aspect of this list haha

I am very appreciative of your honest post. ALL of us here are human and humans are not perfect. When we admit our flaws and work to better ourselves, those flaws become a positive part of the process.

Thank you for not deleting it and sharing with us. It means alot.

4K restoration on Star Wars

They might’ve been a last minute thing since they couldn’t release what was originally intended for that time.

Maybe.

Hopefully the covers for the 4K OOT will reflect the original poster art and not the horrible steelbook cases. Though I would love a steelbook release to go with my TFA and eventual Rogue One blu-rays.

If they released the OOT as individual 4k steelbooks with original poster art, I would go crazy.
