God damn, the Young Turks amount of dishonesty and use of straw man arguments is appalling.

Interesting opinion to say the least. I do not think that the special edition changes made any of the OT films worse than the PT. Except for maybe a fanedited ROTS going head to head with the special edition of ROTJ. That would be a close one.
Congratulations on finishing the edit! I’ll check this out as soon as possible 😃
As it is in Restructured right now, there’s an odd key shift in two places where the ‘Starkiller’ track has been inserted. As well, there’s no reaction from the Resistance, so here I’ve tried to remedy both issues:

There’s still a discordant sound when Han falls into the pit, but it could be further tweaked.
Thoughts? If im not wrong, the thing that sounds its originally Han steps once he leaves the bridge and starts to fall?
I liked the idea of reactions from the Resistance, but the slowness feels a bit odd, specially with the shot of the asian guy (feels too long on him imo), and the transition from Leias face to the fire of SKB, doesnt feel right to me
But anyways, I liked the idea 😃
+1. General idea and experience of the clip is pretty positive, just some minor execution nitpicks as stated above.
YASSSSSS! Adywan you just made my day.
What you had in mind is better than what I put in there, I’ll use your idea.
Squeezing in the clip wouldn’t work, though. I’m using Harmy as a base and I believe you used the 2004 DVD as a base.
I actually used DarthRush’ RotJ Remastered, and he says that he used Despecialized for about 95% of the edit. So it should work, unless the 5% that isn’t Despecialized just happens to be the clips I used, or he did some color correction of his own.
Just checked. It is Harmys.

I can not get enough of Ben Shapiro. I agree with him on most issues except religion but even there he admits that there are legitimate arguments for atheism and he consistently says that he absolutely respects that viewpoint. What I love most is that he does not let emotion get in the way of facts and he presents his arguments with the use of pure logic and facts.
He is a conservative who is against Trump. I really couldn’t ask for more, unless of course he became an atheist/agnostic 😉
Speaking of RLM, their Rogue One commentary track was fucking hysterical. Had me laughing so hard in so many spots.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. What a fun ride. I like it even more than the first one (which was a bit of a letdown because of all the hype it got beforehand). 4 post credit scenes, btw.
Very surprised to read this. I have heard from all of my trusted reviewers that this movie was quite underwhelming. Your review now makes me even more excited to check it out for myself! 😃
^Everyone else gave their 2 cents…I thought this was uhmerica?
Giving their two cents on ideas for a fanedit of Rogue One. There is nothing wrong with what you said. It’s a well thought review of the movie and I loved reading it, just think it would fit better in the review thread.
Everything went right for Luke in Star Wars. He learned the Force, joined the Rebellion, blew up the Death Star, and got a medal.
You seem to have forgotten the part where he whined and got bossed around by his Uncle. Then the part where he did a stupid and let the droid wander off. Then there was the time he got his ass kicked by a sand person and was being dragged around unconscious on the ground. Then there was that time his aunt and uncle got murdered and his home was destroyed. Then when he went to Mos Eisley he nearly got killed in the cantina. Then while training against the droid he got blasted over and over again before finally succeeding.
He also got dragged under the water and nearly drowned in the trash compactor. He had to look on helplessly while his mentor was killed. He watched nearly all of his comrades get shot down and die during the final battle.
And then he won.
Exactly. The statement that “he learned the force” makes absolutely no sense. Luke barely was able to do shit with the force. Compare the development of his abilities to Rey. Luke BARELY force pulled his saber a short distance in the SECOND movie of his trilogy. Rey was able to snatch that thing quite firmly across a much greater distance and then beat a force-trained leader of the Knights of Ren. She also could do a god damn mind trick in her first movie! Luke tried deflecting just a few laser bolts and it took him a few go arounds to get good at it. Then we see him fail even more in Empire. Luke is far from a Mary/Gary Sue/Stu character. He fails again and again and has MANY weaknesses that are shown in full light by the means of the screenplay. Rey does have a weakness which is that she does not want to accept her destiny and she is afraid to leave Jakku. But that never comes to fruition. After she gets the force vision, she runs away, then gets captured, which shows her weakness. Now we wait to see the implications of such weakness and how it will affect the story. It ends up meaning absolutely nothing since she simply escapes after besting Kylo Ren in a mind game, then uses her mind trick skills to escape, and then promptly ends up beating Kylo.
Luke’s desire to save his friends and the stupidity that can come with that are shown again and again throughout the entire trilogy and it comes full circle when he learns to control such weakness and use that compassion to ultimately end up believing in his father and helping to redeem him. This is the one biggest issue that I can see leaking into episode 8 which is that Rey is not set up for much of an arc currently.
Best video I have ever seen when it comes to the dissection of the new disney films.
I feel like the movie I saw is not the same movie you guys saw. It was the best looking Star Wars film I’ve seen in years. It was shot masterfully, and was acted fairly well. But it was devoid of any substance. The prequels had more of a soul than this film. There was little to no character development. I can’t even tell you the names of the people I saw in the film. I’ve watched it twice now. Don’t get me started on Tarkin…I’m going to be having nightmares of that for years. I also think Darth Vader didn’t belong in a single frame of the film. It’s completely out of his character to swing his light-saber through the halls like a madman, only to be calm and collective in the first shots of A New Hope. Those are 2 completely different characters. Why also doesn’t he mention their escape? He just mentions that the plans were transmitted by spies. There’s none of the anger or urgency you see in the final frames of Rogue One. I don’t even think the stormtroopers would’ve fired a shot if the rebels weren’t waiting with their blasters ready.
For a film that was supposed to be the dark and gritty Star Wars film, it played things too safe, and didn’t allow the audience to become invested in the characters. Yeah, the Death Star is a big threat that needs to be stopped, but we know it’s going to be stopped in a much more interesting film, by characters we care about. The way to make the film have it’s own drama and it’s own voice is to make you care about the characters.
Perhaps this would have fit better in the review thread.
Where do they stand legally? Can I buy one on Amazon?
The only reason you would ever need a VPN is if you are a consistent heavy downloader of illegal content. I’m talking HEAVY downloading. If your just occasionally downloading a few fan edits then I can assure you that you won’t get any flak from your ISP or whatever.
It’s just so unbelievable in The Empire a Strikes back when Luke makes the lighsaber come to him in the wampa’s cave. I mean, he didn’t see anyone do that and wasn’t trained on it by Obi Wan. I wonder why they decided to make him so overpowered?
He was already established as being strong in the Force from ANH, and it had been several years since that. It would be stranger if he hadn’t progressed at all on his own.
This was early in the movie, where the filmmakers were re-establishing our leads and giving us an idea about how they had changed. Such a scene is essential character work.
The music and cinematography sold the fact that something impressive and magical was going on.
+1. I really find the comparison between Luke and Rey doesn’t work at all.
Eating goodies made with it is a much more intense feeling than you get from smoking. I find a smoke to be much more relaxing and eating brownies more of a “trip”.

James Cameron is a douche who only gets away with it because most of his movies turn out decent. Good luck on people caring about the 5 million Avatar sequels.
I loved Avatar…sue me.

But if you think the PT is better made, or do something insane like give the PT a 5/10 and RO a 1/10, you’re just trolling for reactions.
TFA plot is way bigger mess than any PT plot. It is simply horrible. So ranking TFA below PT is completely natural in this respect. When you also count in the complete lack of originality in TFA, the judgement is clear.
What PT plot?
I think the PT had a solid story that was squandered by a lack of competent execution, dialogue, and overall direction.
“Across the Stars” is more than enough to put it in front of ROTS and possibly RO.
I really disagree. I absolutely love the ROTS soundtrack. I think it by and far the most emotional soundtrack in the whole series behind ESB. The unique war drums at the beginning of the film, Grievous’s theme, the music when Anakin talks to Padme about his dream (I used this in my ROTJ edit), Order 66 music, Anakin’s Dark Deeds, Battle of the Heroes, the Immolation scene music. The soundtrack for ROTS does a massive load of heavy lifting for the emotion of the film.
Watched Interstellar again last night. Besides the scene with Brand talking bout how love binds the universe together, I consider this movie to be a masterpiece. The acting, the story, the characters, their chemistry, the effects, the amazing soundtrack etc. It just all comes together into one of the most ambitious movies I have seen in awhile.
Hilarious and horrifying compilation of Trump clips…
‘Donald Trump Exposes Donald Trump’
This video really reminded me of how much Romney would flip flop on all issues.
Just wanted to say that this is a damn cool project. I think that these types of cases will slowly begin to become more and more relevant in the future.
For all you guys struggling right now.

Quick non-binding poll: Do you all want me to come back as a regular poster at OT.com?
Sure! I agree that you did post a little too much but I consider you to be a welcome presence on the forum 😃
