But I’m really enjoying the discussion so far. I think I’m gonna take a look at both versions and might look into doing a hybrid in the future. There is some great potential in Superman 2.
If you follow the right subreddits, download the right visual plug ins for the sites interface, then reddit is freaking glorious. But seriously, it all hinges on what subreddits you follow. I fondly enjoy strolling through the subreddits for my favorite bands and such.
Still pretty neutral about the movie and cautious. It all hinges on how Han is played. I do like the visual look of the movie however. The pristine falcon walls and gold lady are some cool touches.
I am guessing one of the first scenes in the film will be Leia Organa’s cremation.

I only watch the first two nowadays. His story feels perfectly summed up by the end of the Dark Knight. The whole idea is that he learns to become a hero despite being hated but it’s undone in Rises when he works to look good in front of everyone. It’s a fine film and ain’t nothing that I particularly dislike, I just don’t think it’s worth watching.

The reed is maybe the best/most important joke in the movie from a character/story perspective.
Close second is the lightsaber toss.
I agree it’s funny, but important from a character/story perspective? You mean showing Reys naivety? I’m not sure what else you could mean, but I’d be interested to hear what you think.
With the light saber toss, this one fits the character at that time and the story, but I just didn’t like the choice. If he had simply dropped it, or even not taken it at all and just walked by her I would have preferred that. Throwing over his shoulder just didn’t work for me. So much so that I don’t even know if it’s supposed to be funny? People laughed in my theatre so I presume so but I just found it really jarring.
It’s amazing how specific people’s complaints are sometimes.

Adam West is the True Batman.
That batman series is far more entertaining than Burton’s batman.
And Nolan’s, and everyone else’s. That’s the point.
I simply don’t get the love for the Burton series over the other adaptations. It’s campy but not campy enough to be enjoyed like the Adam West series. It’s somewhat serious but not serious enough to be taken seriously like Nolan’s batman.

I’m SO sick of loud advertisements! I’m watchin’ tv and have the volume set so that the show I’m watching is at a decent level. Then the damn ad’s start and it’s LOUD NOISES! AAAAHHH!!!

It ain’t like I agree with him always. I just found his Wonder Woman review to elaborate how I felt on that movie well. And he also is just a great youtube reviewer in my opinion. Justifies his opinion very well and is pretty funny at times.

Your absolutely right on Youtube haha. The overall quality is atrocious and I only subscribe to a few channels.
I must add that it was very predictable.
Not to mention the awful BvS level bad of an ending which absolutely destroyed any sort of theme or message it had and was just a cgi mess.

It’s the most over hyped movie of the year in my opinion. Besides some good chemistry between her and Pitt, and one cool scene of her storming the battlefield, I found it to be really uninspiring and lackluster. I find ralphthemoviemaker does a great breakdown of where the movie fails.
I hope I ain’t crazy for finding the C3PO and R2 cameo to be stupid cause I groaned when that came on screen. It just felt so hamfisted.

This. Same as the blue milk. Felt like I was being treated like a two year old. No, it couldn’t have been just in the corner of a medium shot, it had to slowly zoom right in on it for a solid two seconds and just screamed “Remember thissss!?!?”
Totally disagree about that, the blue milk wasn’t what the camera was moving towards. I guarantee if you don’t know what blue milk is you wouldn’t even notice.
As for Evazan and Ponda, I agree, I thought that was the worst offender. I didn’t mind R2 and 3PO because of the brevity of the scene (and once you have Vader and Tarkin and Bail and Mothama and Leia in the movie, you kinda gotta but the droids in somewhere too).
Yeah, I agree that the droids should have been in the movie somewhere. I guess I just wasn’t too big of a fan of how it was done or what they said but I follow what your saying.
