I recall someone mentioning that the James Earl Jones reading of the Bible is a place to find different varaiations of the word mother. You could find a phase that uses the word similarly to how Vader is forming his sentence and then see how well you could make it match through some audio manipulation.

Honestly still just too much work in my opinion for such a small change.

I like this! But however, this will remove the foreshadowing of Kylo’s saber spinning on his feet after Rey gets thrown by snoke. The spinning saber gave Kylo the idea of killing Snoke that way.

Yeah. Even with the change, you still get the moment of Kylo noticing the saber spinning in front of him.

I enjoyed the first two well enough but ended up sleeping throughout nearly the entire third one. And it was a friends birthday as well which goes to show that I didn’t even have that much pity on the film to stay awake for my friend.

I just need episode 9 to really make it clear the effect that Luke had on the galaxy. If they are able to communicate the necessity of his sacrifice toward the eventual peace of the galaxy then that would help uplift his actions even more in TLJ.

During the Supremacy infiltration I have tried out cutting the first section of Finn and Rose at the door. This is when DJ gives the medallion back and Finn calls Poe. The sequence now flows as the following:

I really like the edit for Snoke’s death! I’m curious if before the clip starts we hear the lines of “Where I sensed conflict, there is resolve” and such. I just wanna make sure those are still in there because I feel they do the most explaining to what extent Snoke can see inside Kylo’s mind.

Great edit though and it really adds a lot more suspense!

Ok this makes more sense. My proposal is simply to remove the fight. I haven’t even touched trying to remove her entirely which I agree is pretty difficult.

If you show them running towards the shuttle and then the shuttle leaving, it’s not choppy at all. Quite smooth actually. I’m not incorporating the deleted scene so I can’t speak for that but removing the Phasma fight is very seamless and flows well in my opinion.

Handman, I cut the silly close up of Snoke’s dead face right after I scrolled through the scene on my editor 😉

I agree with your points there. Whether Broom Boi should be cut is still up for debate in my own mind but ending with the characters we know is an essential change in my opinion.

I’ve cut the phasma fight as well and one can very easily assume that as they run for the shuttle that BB-8 rejoins them. One could even cut them running to the shuttle and make their arrival on Crait even more of an surprise but I’m still debating whether to implement that.

jarbear’s idea of swapping the shots sounds like a solid idea.

I like that ending quite a bit.

I also am planning on removing the joke with Hux entirely and like what you did there.

Could you post some screenshots from the regraded scene with Rey handing Luke the saber? I need to end up marching that footage with the overcast colors from TFA and this sounds like something along those lines.

Yep. I simply care more about TLJ. I find it’s great for being trimmed down since it’s good stuff is just so amazing in my opinion. TLJ is messy and flawed, but I’d be damned if it’s not an film that I really like and feel emotionally invested in.
