I absolutely agree with suspifciouscoffee (which also is exactly in line with my previous post). And I really don’t think it’s a “crazy idea” or that anyone reasonable would disagree with that.

At least I hope not.

And that’s the whole point of my last post. I basically agree to a certain extent with what you guys are both saying (not Peterson).

I feel this issue is very simple once three basic facts are acknowledged:

 1. Firstly, in no situation, is there ANY justification for sexual harassment. Someone could be walking around naked and it makes things no different. Sexual harassment/assault are never “more justified”, and if someone tries to suggest that because their clothing/makeup choices were part of the blame then that is a clear misogyny alarm.

 2. Secondly, everyone is well aware that there are certain clothes and makeup choices someone can make, which might draw people’s attention somewhere. Those decisions might raise the attractiveness of the individual. Typically they do since it is the purpose of sexy dresses and certain makeup.

 3. And lastly, both points 1 and 2 can both be true at the same time. We can acknowledge what makeup/clothing choices can do to the appearance of someone while still establishing the fact that any form of sexual harassment/assault is unacceptable REGARDLESS of what someone is wearing.

All in all, we all can’t delude ourselves to the effect of makeup/clothing choices. And we can agree to regard all sexual harassment crimes as equally terrible.

General Star Wars Random Thoughts Thread

Man, all this talk of the romance in the Prequel Trilogy just makes me more confused and frustrated with how they handled Anakin and Padme’s relationship. In the Phantom Menace, the age difference looks ridiculous. We all know the trainwreck that was their relationship in AoTC, but TPM also gives us a weird, eerie vibe to begin with.

Ok but “Luke becomes a hermit” is entirely on TFA’s docket.

I agree, I should have better phrased my argument. I like Luke’s arc, but I feel it requires too much of a leap in logic for Luke to become the type of hermit he is in TLJ.

In all honesty, I do think I now agree with this. The jump of logic is hard for me to accept but once I buy into it, the arc works really well.

Glad to hear you are happy with your work! I think you really nailed a great balance for your edit and it serves as a perfect edit for people who don’t want something too radical. The only remaining flaw is the repeating music in the Luke deleted scene and the tree scene. I think replacing the music in the Luke scene is probably the best idea.

Luke is out of character in TLJ.

I liked his character but this is the most understandable complaint I have heard of against the Last Jedi. I completely see where people are coming from cause it was a bold and risky decision.

I’m still bemused by the way people think that he would have stayed in stasis for 30 years and not changed as a person. It’s a pretty long time in which a lot of events could have happened. On top of this they had to write a story in which he doesn’t just come back immediately (making him look like an idiot for hiding in the first place) and an arc that doesn’t end in a videogame massacre where a dozen AT-ATs are smashed (making it look like one man could have won the war - or the wars that came before this - single-handedly at any time). Outside the third flashback being too similar to Kylo’s version it was all pretty well thought out.

I get what your saying about how it would be stupid for one man to be able to single handedly win the war but there are two things I really wish they did one of two things with Luke at the end of the movie: Either give us an epic lightsaber duel with Luke against Kylo or have him live at the end and do something else with him in 9. I honestly just wanted a moment like what we got with Vader in Rogue One. I’m not saying I wanted Luke massacring people but I wanted something that really showed his fighting abilities. It’s very much a fanboy like desire to have but I can’t deny that I still really wanted that.

The Last Jedi- Full Movie Re-Edit

How is that going to work? Is he going to have those guys dressed up as Luke and Kylo, then somehow insert them into the actual movie? That’s a helluva feat if he can pull it off and make it look realistic.

Yep. He is using some static wide shots from the movie, painting out Luke and Kylo.

Then they will film in front of a green screen with the costumes and paint themselves into the movie.

You could always try and find other places to put the scene. You could even place it after Rey leaves with the Falcon and Luke feels like he has hit an all time low. I think it would be a great placement as well since it really gives you a sense of desperation before we enter the end of the Second Act.

And it would require color grading the deleted scene to being at night, but I think it is doable as shown by the collaborative work on your PT edits.

I wouldn’t put “I’m Only Sleeping” as my favorite, but “Yellow Submarine” is definitely the worst.

I probably would in retrospect agree with this. I’m Only Sleeping is one of my top tracks. I’d put “And Your Bird Can Sing”, “For No One”, and “Tomorrow Never Knows” as my other top tracks.

Yellow Submarine on the other hand is the one track that I consistently skip when doing a listen through.
