As stated before, some shots could use some work, but this is a phenomenal starting point for color correction.

I think some people would enjoy a flashback, but I’m of the mindset that edits should be used to tie the prequels to the OT, and not the other way around.
In my opinion, using bits of the PT in the OT really just hurts the OT. I can live with the force ghost of young Anakin at the end of RotJ, but I’ve only recently come to terms with that haha.

I don’t think this will happen. I think Obi-wan is a more likely next spin off.
Considering they have officially announced this spin off, have directors, a writer and are currently casting Han Solo my guess would be its happening.

How about just adding music?
So one scene Iv always hated in Return of the Jedi that feels dull (no music/emotion) is when Obi Wan talks to Luke on Dagobah. Yet it is still a critical scene. So there’s a low quality preview I found that has prequel flashbacks during the scene.
I thought the timing of where the flashbacks are is good but obviously the shitty piano music and horrible quality is annoying.
I know I will get hate for an idea that directly implements prequel scenes into one of the OT movies but if you were watching in Machete Order this could be such a more powerful scene if this idea were to be used in HD with different music and better quality. Thoughts? (And not on the YouTube video but the idea)

-Rey’s Theme
-Jedi Steps/Force Theme at end
-Kylo Rens Theme
I find these three are the most redeeming pieces of the soundtrack. Rey’s theme is a unique and beautiful composition. Same for Jedi Steps, mainly because it ends the film so well. And Kylo Rens theme also gives him a personal and recognizable theme. Just curious and am fine and supportive of whatever you choose to do. Thanks again !
The only thing that would have destroyed Han’s character arc in the OT would be for him to become selfish again. Hell if anything he’s more selfless than ever in TFA. Him going back to the only thing he was good at makes sense due to his split with Leia

Definetly agree with your point about Han Solos arc Haseo. I thought that the way he died just sold it for me. It portrays to the audience how much he has changed as a person. I am so happy that they sent out the character like this contrary to that of ROTJ.

Jedi Council is literally the best YouTube show ever. I think any Star Wars fan would love it. Their recent upload with Freddie Prinze Jr (Kanan) and Matthew Wood (Maul) is so great.
I honestly think that Anakin should have a purple lightsaber. It would show that while he’s not quite as dark as Sith red (until he becomes Vader, of course), he has a dark side.
Idk. Cool idea it’s just that is the most iconic saber in Star Wars. I have grown (and thousands more) so attached to Anakin and Lukes blue lightsaber. Idk just my 2 cents

I really feel a lot of dissapointment when it comes to ROTJ. So I’d agree that TFA is equal to ROTJ or better.
Ugh these colors are just gorgeous. They honestly are my favorite color palette done so far. Harmys 2.5 is too yellow and I thought 2.7 fixed everything but for some reason the colors here are better looking to my eyes. Do you know if there’s any color differences between like those tatooine shots versus 2.7 colors?
Accidental Repost
So I have recently been playing around with serious plot restructuring of the force awakens and am trying to move the Hosnian destruction to the third act. I can throw up a link for a preview for things like Hux’s altered speech which is rescored and a star starts getting sucked up by Starkiller instead of the base firing. I think it works well. I found that I also had to cut out every reference to the destruction of the Hosnian system before it happens in the last part of the movie. I found that they are seamless cuts that don’t take away from the film. Everything was easy to rearrange and cut for this new plot change but once I got to the third act I realized some problems.
Where to put the destruction?
I’d like to put it close to after Hans death but then Poes trench run and everything feels to happy and disconnected. Here’s my two ideas!:
So I thought maybe I could rescore this sequence of events. It would be Hans death, Leia reacts, we cut to Hosnian Destruction, we cut back to Chewie shooting Kylo, Chewie detonates bombs, THEN Poe cuts right through hole and blows everything but I might rescore this since it may feel too happy.
Orrrr… I could try this. So Sequence of events would be Hans death, Leia reacts, then when Chewie starts shooting troopers we don’t go from sad music like “The Starkiller” to fast music when Chewie starts shooting but INSTEAD we then cut to Order 66 Music and once it cuts to Rey and Finn shooting troopers it cuts to Starkiller firing. Just imagine Order 66 music, Chewie desperately shooting down troopers in angst, Finn and Rey with tears down her face are hopelessly firing at troopers, we cut to Starkiller firing and destroys the republic. Chewie detonates a hole as Poe flies through and blows it up knowing on the inside they didn’t destroy it in time and they ultimately failed. The problem here is Id have to move the fighting above the base with Poe before Hans death then maybe show people evacuating in the middle of the lightsaber duel. Ideas? For rescoring I’m waiting on someone to remove the music from the 7.1 channels which I would be eternally grateful for.
I think if implemented correctly this would work well. Please post pretty much any ideas concerning how you would choose to handle this plot change in the third act if you were to or actually are thinking of doing a fan edit.

How is this actually used as an algorithm. Does it integrate into Adobe CS6 (my personal current choice of creative software) or is it a standalone thing. Again I’m sorry for probably such a stupid question
Iv gotta admit I really loved the ending but it truly will be difficult to go back to this scene in episode 8.
It’s great that each of those scenes are so powerful since each one is the pinnacle moment of their trilogy. They both feel so heavy and weighted and with fantastic scores.

Honestly the large majority of my friends and family are Star Wars fans to some extent. It is widely known by them that I’m the “Star Wars guy.” So I don’t often hear people talk about SW like they’re experts because they know they’re at risk of being schooled by myself.
Same thing with my family. After the force awakens I got about 20 text messages from grandparents, aunts and cousins asking about the movie and it’s connections to the other movies. I wouldn’t brand myself as an expert. My entire family just isn’t nearly as intense as a fan.
It would be cool to go since I grew up on 97 SE trilogy. I remember when my mom finally bought the 2004 DVD’s and it even confused the hell out of a young one. I asked her always “why is darth Vaders lightsaber pink?” or “where is Anakins ghost? Who’s that 20 year old?”. I eventually in a confused and frustrated state told my mother “I don’t know why but these DVD’s suck, where are the VHS’s?”.
But this was the ultimate travesty. I was gonna introduce my 8 year old little cousins to the original unaltered Star Wars trilogy on Vacation. One of them wasn’t allowed to stay up late on the second and third nights for ESB and ROTJ. The cousin who could stay up just ate it up. His favorite was ESB (good taste). Once we came home from Vacation the cousins family as requested by me, purchased the complete saga on blu Ray, THEN I burned a despecialized set for them free of charge. He now is in love with Star Wars and loves talking with me about it and it was such a great experience.
The other cousin not so much… his family returned and their parents blindly pulled out their handy dandy 2004 DVDs for the whole family and within a couple days that cousin of mine thought Jedi Rocks was the greatest thing that Star Wars did for Humanity. I failed that cousin of mine.
Now him and my cousin who saw despecialized debate the changes. I took no mercy nor hesitance to debate a 8 year old about such important matters.
Man, these are the experiences that make the SE’s really sting the soul lol.
I forgot to mention ROTJ. I think ROTS Fanedited is barely superior. And my fanedit would be LOE V4 but once Anakin and Obi Wan start fighting I have L8wtrs till the end.
