For what it’s worth, I hate Encounter at Farpoint, and yet TNG is my favorite Trek. I’m glad that the show succeeded in spite of its pilot episode and first two seasons.

I’m going to take a knee the next time I hear the national anthem in protest of the excessive police action at OT.com and the temp banning of Warbler. 😉

I would argue that it depends on the pronunciation of your er/ur. Are you opening the back of your throat when you pronounce it? More of a dumb “ur”. If your tongue is higher and you have a narrower airway, that’s more of a nervous “er”. These are important details, you ignoramus! Reported!

Can I stammer with “ur”?

Ex.: I…um…ur…I like your…toenails.
