Don't forget your English for Dummies book!
Do you think he heard me on the way out?

Do you think he heard me on the way out?
Seemed like such a nice fellow, too.
Well, Sam on the East Coast or blowfish in the Netherlands, you're up way past your bedtime. You're not going to get much sleep saying "poop" on the Internet.

Computer hacking skills...
It's been close to a month and more than 50 signatures with no update! What good is this thread if we don't get regular updates?
Is Sam back? Truthfully I'm not convinced, but it could be. Oh, the suspense!
He and Leonard Maltin were the first two professional critics I ever cared about, and even in recent readings, I still appreciated his view on movies.
Why so down? If it's really Father Skywalker a.k.a. TheAmazingUncleSpam, it makes me happy we get to laugh at his antics some more!
(BTW, I'm going through my posts a little more thoroughly to make sure I don't make any inadvertent spelling errors)

I have no problem with you being Mormon or whatever., but you started the religion thread which tells me you are a religous fantic religious and fantastic!
Hey, not bad this time, but there were still some errors. I give it an A-, but only because you were being so flattering.
What a jerk!
Darn! Akwat beat me to it! Would've been fun to fix up his shoddy spelling and "gramar".
Fish tacos giving you heartburn, Bingo?
I am a Mormon, Mr. Blowfish. I don't mind discussing the merits of religion with intelligent folks, so for that reason I won't be engaging you in this thread.
Well, when I first joined I called myself the Dark Lord of Grammar or something like that. But "Intro" is a spelling issue, not a "gramar" issue. Anyway, I don't have time to argue with you. Welcome, and I hope you find the right foot soon.
Whoa! Chill dude. It had only been 16 minutes between your first and second post. It's been slow around here lately. People will greet you when they're good and ready.
Hello.
BTW, before Frink gets to it, you spelled "Intro" wrong in the heading.
Kinda slow around these parts lately. Probably a good thing, since I need to focus more on my studies and not have you clowns distracting me ;)

Qui-Gon is probably my favorite PT character! I think Neeson is a great actor, and I like that Qui-Gon is noble and good, yet often does things that are considered less than perfect: he lies, cheats, steals (in the book, though never explicitly on film--didn't you ever wonder where he got that power source for Anakin's pod?), resists the council's ruling and encourages Obi-wan to do the same, manipulates, belittles, attempts to use the Force to make a purchase using unacceptable to the seller, and imposes his will on those whom he protects. Yet he remains a good guy, and really most of his actions were noble and saved or bettered lives. I think he was completely unnecessary, and if they were to use him, why not make better use of him instead of killing him, but I think he is actually a very interesting character
This. Seriously, this. It really shouldn't have to be up to the extended universe/deleted scenes (Qui-Gon stealing) to make a character awesome, but believe me when I say as a kid reading the Jedi Apprentice books sold me on Qui-Gon. He's a flawed, highly opinionated character that believes in action at any cost, which is probably why he wasn't on the council. To be honest I would have liked to see Obi-Wan's training under Qui-Gon as a TV series, much of it directly lifted from said books, but I'm sure that's not happening. I think he's actually the only PT-exclusive Jedi that I found compelling. Then again, I didn't watch Clone Wars so I might be missing out.
edit: for that matter, it really fleshes out Obi-Wan too. Despite their target audience, I'd still recommend the series. Easy reads for anyone over ten, perhaps earlier, but compelling stories that still suck me in if I choose to revisit them. And they're not shoddily written, either.
I'll have to check them out. I don't get to read enough, but it would be nice to get to know Qui-Gon better. It's a real shame that the most interesting Jedi serves the least purpose to the overall story, so it would be nice to get some good background on him.
It has the deleted scenes from Behind the Magic for ANH and the original Jabba scene, and all other deleted scenes are merely a few pictures and very short clips from the trailers. Jambe Davdar's works are more thorough.
Ants in Pants - In the fine tradition of movies based on board games, this truly thrilling, action-packed fest about aliens attacking humankind and torturing them by thowing ants in their pants is a fine addition to the sci-fi/horror genre.
Blue Dawn - A North Korean film countering the evil propaganda machine of the capitalist United States, providing a glimpse into life after a completely unprovoked invasion and the subsequent actions of freedom fighters trying to preserve the North Korean way of life.
Eat More Chicken - The expose' of fast food mogul S. Truett Cathy and his rise to power and his insidious methods to undercut the beefy burger market.
Snow White 2 - Another Disney "cheapquel" about a close relative to the villain of the original film seeking revenge against the main character and blah blah blah...
Boring Stories to Read While Eating Your Oatmeal - read by Bert

Haven't actually seen it for more than a year, but I'm excited to have learned about the BD release of Little Shop of Horrors, which includes both the original and theatrical endings. I hear it was directed by some guy who did something significant, but I can't seem to place him. ;)

Sad but true. But as I pointed out, emanswfan and aalenfae are very gifted. TMBTM is another candidate. I'm sure there are others at fanedit.org. But in the end, I understand it's Ady's game and Ady's rules. I just think he might be more successful with a little help.
That's what I mean. He's obviously a good leader, and others are willing to follow him and help out. I just feel like he'd have more success getting through his projects with a team of CGI and physical model-building wizards.
Perhaps that's true. And I certainly wouldn't mind if it is true. But I believe there are several reasons the Collaborative ROTJ didn't work out, first and foremost was because no matter how hard I tried to not lead it, I started the thread and was very enthusiastic about ideas, so I think folks looked to me. But the fact of the matter is I have no talent for fan editing, and was not deserving of any leadership role. But Adywan has already proved himself to be quite capable, working almost entirely alone for ANH:R (though I think he had some help with the TIEs vs. X-/Y-wings, didn't he?), and has only further honed his skills for ESB:R. He is exceedingly talented, has a fanbase (and thus a source of fiscal donations to finance the project), and I'm confident many other editors would gladly work under him. And if he actually had the final say (as opposed to the perhaps overly-democratic Collaborative project), all joining the project would have to understand that they may have different ideas, but that they are trying to work towards Ady's vision when joining that project.
Indeed. While I only mentioned emanswfan in my earlier post, it was only because of his interest in ROTJ and his "filmized" PT color work, both of which are goals for Adywan. There are other very talented editors, such as aalenfae (who never ceases to amaze me with his special effects wizardry). I honestly would recommend expanding Team Adywan to include some of these very talented editors (if they are interested), and maybe a couple from fanedit.org. Adywan would still lead with his story goals, but the others could take part in work that would be useful for the project as well as for themselves and their own edits down the road.
I believe that if these movies are to be tackled simultaneously, this is the only practical way to do it. Otherwise the timeframe will be so far down the road that video standards may have changed, not to mention any potential legal troubles as Revisited becomes higher profile. I believe it would be in the entire project's best interest to get it done faster. And if I had to settle for an incomplete project for whatever reason, I would also prefer to have the complete OT.
Yep, you're right. Stupid typo. Let me fix it.
I guess *sigh* tacos are becoming official and JEDI: is a potential candidate.
JEDIT: I meant to say JEDIT:
