That is very, very cool!
That is very, very cool!
I mean "I'd hate for everyone to know them all yet." I really am hoping to get this project released eventually, and if I spoil all the fun, then, well, the fun is all, um, spoiled. ;) I intend to share everything I have eventually, and if I never get this thing done, I will upload everything I have as is somewhere, including all pictures and clips, just so everyone else can have a go at it. Don't worry. I'm not selfish :)
Whoa! Can't update the OP because I have no idea who Johnny is or what that bizarre creature is next to him. Give me a clue and I'll add an update.

Seeing as I've never seen TDKR (and have no plans to ever do so), I wouldn't have known that. Regardless, I had more problems with the way the character was written than the way he was performed.
For all the absolutely shitty movies you watch and leave negative comments for on here, I am often surprised at your lack of willingness to waste time on mediocre ones.
Best comment ever!

Regarding the actual 12 minute reel, I hope it contains the deleted portion from Luke and Biggs in Tosche Station where Biggs says, "Third mate Biggs Darklighter at your service," and says he's going to serve on the Rand Ecliptic. I have evidence that this was filmed and not just part of the novelization, and it looks like the officially released version has a pretty obvious cut where that would go.
Yes, the scene was definitely shot. A picture of this scene (where Luke is saluting to Biggs) was released somewhere - the 2004 DVD maybe ?
That photo was posted on Hyperspace (and is unfortunately no longer available to anyone at all - thanks sw.com!), and showed Luke making a mocking salute to Biggs inside the garage at Tosche Station. However, it's not a 100% guarantee that the scene was shot...it could have been an outtake or just some clowning around on set. I'd like to think it's that cut bit, though.

You know, my "evidence" was indeed that picture, and it's part of my incomplete slideshow for my deleted/alternate/changed project. I didn't want to spoil it because I've got so many cool pictures I'd hate for everyone to know of them all. But I agree with pittrek, there is a noticeable cut and I believe the picture matches the actual footage well enough to not simply be a promo shot or messing around (especially considering the dialogue in the novel where Biggs makes a salute himself, and where Luke could have returned the salute--btw, he's first mate, not third--my mistake). But either way, I too hope it's a real cut picture and not just goofing around.
LOL SKot, you are the man! Anyone so unabashedly proud to be a fan of the Holiday Special deserves major kudos!
Minor spoiler alert:
In spite of of how much I liked the movie, I noticed one serious logical error right away. In Metropolis, Zod's ship is work in tandem with the world engine or whatever it's called on the opposite side of the planet. In Metropolis, it's broad daylight. After destroying the world engine on the other side and getting knocked out, Supes gets some recovery as he soaks in sunlight from the morning light. How could there be sunlight on opposite sides of the planet simultaneously???

Well, in that case, you definitely want to check out:
Star Wars Documentary
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeiL3Eru1A0
"Over seven hours of behind the scenes action and information, from one of our greatest science fiction sagas of all time."
... re-posted from the author who took it down (or had it taken down) and dropped by for a nod. Get it while it's hot!
Isn't that just Jambe Davdar's three Star Wars documentaries put together?
Finally saw it last night. There was a lot of destruction, which certainly would have resulted in damages like noted in the above picture. But honestly I really, really enjoyed it, and I don't care what fake people like Frink's wife think about it. It was fantastic! If I were a fan editor, the main thing I would change would simply be the extensive destruction.
I actually watched that news story a few weeks ago!
We don't have enough of these.
As for the unusable footage, there are several fairly high quality copies of the Holiday Special available that are better than what you see there (Zion's Hybrid I believe is best). You can just splice those clips in if you wanted.
Very good news. You deserved a break, but everyone's looking forward to some ESB, so we're glad to hear you're ready to go.
Not yet. Application is being processed. May still have to wait for a few more weeks. Alternating between studying and posting as we type. Thanks for asking :)
This never-ending topic:

Who has had any change of opinion because of this thread? It seems to me that it's a perpetual argument without any terminating point and a lot of contention. At least in the politics thread we run out of steam every now and then and let topics die.
As always, marvelous work on the new clip. That's a fun way to portray the whole battle. I really like it :)
I will see it Tues. It appears critics are not big fans but real people are. Interesting. I wonder why it appeals to the general populace and not the cinema proletariat.
Sadly the problem is complicated by the fact that I wear a kilt and she wears a lava lava, so we never know who's in charge :(
And I'm really hurt that georgec hasn't commented even once to note how well I'm doing. Maybe pat man could be my official counter, preferably with links!
I bet I can get there before Frink does! Only 45,735 to go! Georgec, I'm counting on you to handle the countdown from here on out.

So America are now prepared to arm the Syrian Rebels because they say that the president has used chemical weapons. I'd be very wary of this. It was a very small amount used. Doesn't this ring alarm bells with anyone? Top experts have warned that these weapons were used by the rebels (the UN's investigator Carla del Ponte informed them about this after her investigation), in order to get the support of other nations and they were not used by Assad. But what's more worrying is that it is known that Al Qaeda is fighting alongside the rebels (same thing as what was happening in Lybia). So, if America start providing this military support, they are in danger of arming those they are supposed to be fighting against.
There are some terrible things happening over there, but is it all that we are being told it is? Rebels executed a 15 year old boy in front of his parents because they claimed he used the profit Muhammad's name in an offensive manner. And we've seen the pictures of the rebels eating one of the government soldiers hearts. Is this really the type of people that we should be helping? Also videos of Rebels training to use chemical weapons surfaced.
I'm hoping the Uk stays well out of this but the chances of that happening are slim to none. Shouldn't we be listening to those independent investigators instead of brushing their reports to one side without any evidence to refute their reports?
And, before any one suggests that this is another Anti-American post by a Brit, it isn't. I'm curious to know what you guys over there think about all this.
Honestly if we were to get involved, we should have done it a long time ago when there were distinct rebel factions we could support and others we could disregard. Now when we support the rebels, they are a conglomeration of the extremist brand and the better folks. At this point we may be supporting the takeover of a worse regime than the one we've already got. I won't argue with you about that.

Wow, you still can't read!
No offense.
And you still can't write. In proper English it is spelt "offence". :P
Offense intended.
Non taken. Intention failed.
"Non taken" LOL
I guess I'm displaying my stupid ignorance here. I didn't make the connection (due to my studying for my state board exam I guess) that this guy was the one who revealed the government snooping stuff. Now I feel stoopidd. I'm with you guys that such things are absolutely wrong. I was just reading the first couple paragraphs and thinking this guy released more stuff like that guy did a couple years ago. That's what I get for skimming the stories instead of reading in depth. Sorry :(
Rumor is that they are now working on around 10 episodes, which could possibly, though not necessarily, mean that other episodes are already complete. But the fact that we'll get at least 10 is somewhat encouraging.
