Don't have time to look this morning. Will explain when I can.

And I don't think something bad had to happen. You've been playing very well (in combination with me playing badly). I don't mind losing as long as I play a good game. But I don't want to completely turn the game around either. You deserve to beat me.
Time for bed, my friend. Have a good night. Sorry if I disappointed you.
Yikes. Now that I've accomplished my primary goal, I have no idea where to go from here. Hmmm...R-8a. We'll see if I can get anything done now.
^Hey, I'm reading the same book(s), albeit very slowly. I'm on Revenge right now. It does feel like it takes a while to get anywhere. I actually enjoyed Star's End quite a bit. I really like Bollux and Blue Max: a droid duo, but very different characters from R2 and 3PO.
Same versions? You mean same armies? Or same zillions file? If the former, I imagine you are joking. In any case, generally with this game both players are supposed to randomly select their army. However, I would recommend that one of us select the Fabulous FIDEs (or the standard chess army), just so we can see how the new army really does match up. The other player can select randomly. If we play another game later, we can try both players selecting randomly.
Yes I know. I can't afford to waste a single turn trying to recoup that silver. Gx4c. Yes, I am enjoying it better now. I don't mean to be a complainer. I don't mind losing, but losing so badly and due to such awful carelessness makes me prefer to just start over. Knowing that I can lose but put up a fight makes a game much more enjoyable. But don't give up on your offensive either. You can pull off a victory without too much difficulty if you know what to do.
G-5b. I think have that sucker for real this time. But it's been costly. The game might even up a bit, but it still lies very much in your favor. My position is crap. You have more pieces to drop. You still are set to win this game if you keep playing as well as you have. At least I can enjoy losing if I still end up losing. Before each move was depressing.

Didn't really get to do a lot of our own self-capturing. I'm a little disappointed, though not terribly surprised. I honestly don't think the occasion arises too often, and usually only when a player is really in a stuck position. I thought about capturing my pawn on f2 with my rook to let him out to attack your king, but there were always better options. Not sure if the variant is that special or not. I'd be willing to try another game if you like, and see if it turns out differently. But first I'd like to try something more radically different, and Chess with Different Armies keeps calling my name. Does that interest you?

The thing is, I probably could have pushed you for a few more moves and successfully hemmed you in. Now I blew it! Again!!! Arg!!!!!!
I'm such an idiot. I thought I had you cornered!

G-3e. If you had not been so concerned about my evening things up, do you think you might have tried harder to protect your dragon horse? I really don't want to capture him just because you were going easy on me.

I prefer "Captain," as that was also what was used in the novelization, and later Threepio denies any familiarity with her while Luke is checking out her hologram. It doesn't appear he is lying, so I find this to be a mistake. Captain seems to be the original line, and it makes more sense. I'd go with that.
Don't know how I messed that up. Qxh8

I hope you weren't leaving your DH there just to give me a chance. I do have it trapped, but I hope you were not trying to be merciful.

Hmmm...I remember that move, but I guess I forgot to make it. But I'm not sure where else I made an error, since I must have made some alternate move for you. Can you show me a diagram of your board, please?
EDIT: Obviously, if you're willing, I'd like to go back to before my previous knight move.
Well, I guess I'm going to use the wh*ning thread to wh*ne about disproportionate reporting. There are problems everywhere. The state of Israel has many problems, but it is hardly the worst offender. There are far more serious issues elsewhere, even in that part of the world that I get tired of hearing that Israel and the US are somehow responsible for everyone else's problems.
Yes, but the fact is that only of a certain political slant (media outlets and audience members) single out Israel while virtually ignoring the numerous human rights violations performed by Arab nations, or virtually every nation, including the stateless PLO.
