How about a game of Japanese Chess, i.e. Shogi? Now playing Shogi4

Playing nonsuicidally (is that a real word? ;) ) doesn't look much better.  I would have simply taken your gold with my bishop instead, at which point you would take my bishop with your knight and promote it, which means I'd have to retreat my rook where you would surely have it trapped by so many promoted pawns and knights supporting each other.  There was no hope of keeping my rook, and the best I could do is try to save my bishop by not taking your gold (which would result in a loss of the rook as well), or not taking your knight right now with my bishop (which drags it out and does little to lengthen my game).  You've pwned me this game, completely legitimately, and I'll never underestimate you or make such hasty moves in the beginning with you again.

I hadn't made any move yet.  Thanks for sending the setup.  I wanted to see what your reply was to my suggestion that you take back your move, but since you went ahead with it, I hadn't even moved anything yet.  Yes, I would have captured your bishop, and now that I see your reply, I can't bear to play anymore.  You've crushed my windpipe and you are slowly watching me die.  I'd rather perform what ancient samurai did when their battle was lost, and commit harakari.

I just can't go on fighting such a hopeless battle.  And in reality, it is common etiquette to resign in a hopeless situation rather than drag out the fight.

Arg!  But part of me knows you want to checkmate me.  So perhaps I'll make it easier rather than more difficult.
