Frink was around for the Centennial. We should ask him about that.

I never have enjoyed this thread so much!
Yeah, it's too much for one person. Hopefully as a community effort others can improve upon it in sorting and making slideshows. I'm glad you like it. There's really a lot of stuff to go through. Pretty crazy. Can you watch the dance clips? Like I said, they are from my college days. Are you planning on upping it to MySpleen? If so, can you delete the dance clips?
Oh, I loved this project, but not much has happened for some time. I couldn't have possibly made it a reality, just a bunch of dreams. The guy who now wants to take charge is emanswfan. He has the skills to make it real, but he has other projects on his plate at present, so not much is happening here.
As far as missing footage goes, I originally did accidentally exclude a part of the movie that apparently no one who has watched all four parts has missed enough to notice or point out. But I haven't made any changes to the movie since I first uploaded it. I guess I don't know which footage it is, but I assure you I didn't take anything out that was once in. Would you care to describe it more, and perhaps I can tell you where you did actually see it?

I definitely think that Tarkin's lines in that scene go against the point of this edit. Another option would be to cut after Vader says "I told you she wouldn't consciously betray the rebellion," then maybe cut to a silent-but-frustrated Tarkin, if possible.
I agree, this is the way to go if it can be done.
Oh shoot! It just occurred to me what those song and dance numbers are!!! I was in choir in college, and DVDs were made of my last concert there. Unfortunately, all the DVDs were defective and would not play in DVD players. I could get short clips to play on VLC before it started getting blocky and stopped playing. So for a time I was trying to record segments, ultimately hoping to piece it back together into a working DVD. I stopped trying to do that. Unfortunately, I was doing that about the time I was grabbing several clips from other DVDs. Apparently I forgot to sort through that segment. Gosh, I feel stupid. Can you even watch the clips?
I hope whoever chooses to upload this project to MySpleen will have the courtesy of removing those clips from the final upload. I'd be most grateful.
Please don't put spoilers in this thread. There is a spoilers thread already. I am trying to avoid as much as I can.

Edit: Except for some song and dance clips from 2005!
What do you mean? You can't unrar it without all the pieces I thought. And I'm not sure what dance clips you mean.
Wow, it took a while to upload. It didn't occur to me how long it would take to download.
As for MySpleen, of course it would be easier. I tried to do so, but for some reason was too incompetent to figure out why I couldn't. I'm sure someone will put it up, but I don't think anyone else has all the links yet.
I know it's a big bunch of files, but has anyone gotten them all yet? I'd love to know if people successfully grabbed them all and if they are pleased with what they have.
All links are available. PM if interested. All who have requested should have already gotten their's. Let me know if there's an issue.
Just sent out an email to the four people who have provided their addresses. Still missing a few parts, but most of them are there. I should have the remaining parts very soon, and I will send out another email.
Honestly, I think there is merit to at least some of the theory. Bear in mind that we are all big fans of Zombie's Secret History of Star Wars, which has many easily verifiable facts, but also some leaps in logic (please don't ask for specific examples, as I haven't read it for a long time). It's fun to speculate. We don't have to agree with any of it, but I don't mind a little speculation.
...with moar lynx.
Oops. Shows how carefully I was reading. My bad. Thanks for clarifying.
That's right, and Vader still had sentimental feelings about 3PO. Perhaps a little guilty that he himself was never able to clothe the droid, and didn't want to ruin his beautiful gold plating.

I'm with you on the thought that the probe travelled a good distance before finding Hoth....& the Destroyer that launched it, but the Destroyer looked alone out there whereas Vader was in a fleet, so I recon that the Destroyer that was sending the probes was jumping from system to system on its mission while The Executor in the fleet was monitoring any feedback
J
Couldn't possibly have already been in the Hoth system. Consider: "Admiral Ozzel came out of light speed too close to the system," implying that the Rebels would have already been aware of any ships present and likely to detect them. Also, "Comscan has detected an energy field emanating from the sixth planet in the Hoth system," implying that their sensors would likely have been able to pick up other energy readings, even just the generators for such a large shield. And simple logic alone would tell me that if I were in a system looking for signs of Rebel activity in a state of the art vessel with a capable sensor array, I would use my own ship and personally scan over the planets of the system instead of these little droids that can hardly cover any reasonable percentage of a planet's surface and expect it to find a needle in a haystack. Really, probe droids are intended to be a desperate measure for someone "obsessed with finding" someone, a shot in the dark as it were. I just can't believe the ship was actually in the Hoth system.
While there are stretches, there are clearly closer resemblances. But I won't go into that right now. I just want to share the interesting tidbit that for about a year when I still had a MySpace account, I was friends with Elora Dannon--both of them! Yep, I had friended the twins, at the time 19 year-olds, who played the little chosen baby. One had a child of her own. It was kind of cool. That's it for my useless post.
It appears that I'd forgotten how PMs truncate messages. Considering the number of lines required to send so many links, apparently most of them get removed. It would likely be best (easiest for me, certainly) if you sent me your email addresses. I could then send you all the links, or piecemeal, whatever your preference. If you don't feel comfortable with this, we'll work something out.
I think far more vital to understanding would be the opening shot when the probes fire off from the ship. They are clearly not travelling at any substantial speed, yet it appears as if the probe in question just happens to be right next to Hoth. As a child, I thought the star destroyer was already in the Hoth system as it released its probes. I think it would be nice to see the probes jump to lightspeed, then the one we care about decelerate and land on Hoth. Just my thought.
I currently have the first 67 of 198 parts uploaded. PM for links. Once someone with more brains than I clearly have can successfully upload it to MySpleen, I'd be grateful. I'll keep working on getting the parts upped.
I've thought of many of the more obvious points where there are similarities, but was not aware of such detail. Great thread!
Since the MySpleen route doesn't seem to want to work for me, I've successfully converted the whole ridiculously large project into 198 files of 100 mb and am presently uploading them. This of course means more waiting, as my upload speed apparently isn't that fast. But it's uploading, and I should have links very soon. Thanks everyone for understanding.

If I had the time to preview, I would do so for you. As it is, I have little time to sit and watch a movie, much less a movie my wife wouldn't want to see also. I am looking forward to seeing this when things settle down a bit.
