Was your rook already promoted? If so, you can make that move, but I don't remember that being the case. I thought it was a regular rook, in which case it retreats along a diagonal instead of an orthogonal.

I think I can get a pic uploaded. I'll do so shortly.

Don't worry about it. We all make mistakes. Perhaps now would be a good time for one of us to put up a quick schematic of the board so we all know we are on the same page and can resolve any potential discrepancies. Ric, I don't know if you've got the time for that or not, but you're usually better at not missing stuff than I. :)

And I'll pass on the message. Thank you :)
^Or mustakes like *Px7vw, witch from yore perspecktive is a sidewaze capchure. The only too sells avaleble to that pawn are 9vw or 8wx. ;)
Gotta get some shut eye (just got back from work), and today is my twin sons' birthday, so I'm not sure how available I'll be.

I assume that "wear the hyphen is" is a spelling joke, right?
Never mind, I see where I missed it. Carry on.
You then are not making the move N-12op, correct? It was out of turn, and you changed your mind, right? Problem is, I have a bishop of yours on 14mn. Did I forget something?
+R-7vw
Yes, to any cell within his territory as long as he has never moved or been in check. I can't play again till tomorrow.

There is the checkbox to automatically log you in, if you are using a different computer (or browser) than Ric.

Ric, it was my turn, but you are welcome to keep that move, just after me :)

I'm fairly certain he means B*11lm.
Ah, of course. And is anyone else having reply formatting issues? The advanced editor seems to be deleting every 'enter' I press.
Yes, I meant to promote. That was the main goal of my move, thanks. I need to get some sleep. I've been up for about 30 hours and need to get some sleep

The commoners, those trodden under foot, are usually the first to join the resistance, Ric. Now that I've taken this impressionable young man, I can make him a warrior for the zealots of Red!
And yes, Praetorian, I saw the propaganda video with my bishop assuring everyone that he was being treated well while two armed and masked men flanked either side of him. The only way you could have gotten to him was by "feeding" him powerful drugs! I will redeem him and welcome him back to the true fold!

It took very little for your Bishop to see the light. I showed him that our ideology is clearly better and he turned after only four waterboarding sessions.
Probably can't move again tonight, but feel free to play your two turns. See you both tomorrow :)
How you feeling, Ric? Better start to this game?
Perhaps you could put together a spreadsheet for Nimmar when the time comes :) Gotta reread those rules.

Let's try to stir the pot a bit.
And I'm glad to hear you are interested in all those games. Ric had mentioned Nimmar before, and it looks pretty cool. I'd love to try it out. I don't even mind playing simultaneous games of a different category. For instance, there is a chess thread lying around here somewhere, and your son created a Nimmar thread as well. I started a chess variant thread, too, so theoretically we could run games simultaneously in different threads, though I personally would only choose to play two at a time.

It was clearly a joke based on other people's overreactions.
I'm surprised there was any question. Thanks brash. People in this thread overreact to everything. Bingowings, you know this very well, as people overreacted to you when defending the right to ask for updates. It honestly leads me to seldom post in this thread because everything turns into an argument defending everything Adywan does.
Xegoog, you go right ahead on with your excitement. I am excited too. I was just kidding, and my joke really was meant to pick on others, not you :)
Clearly it wasn't clearly a joke otherwise three people wouldn't have been confused. I've seen a few over-reactions over on the Facebook page but I can't really see what this jape is lampooning over here.
Anyway back to sleep everyone :-D
Um, clearly it was.
Wow! That is exciting news indeed. I really can't wait!
This is one of probably at least three times where my comments were nothing more than expressing my excitement and that I "can't wait". Yet I have NEVER jumped on the bandwagon of harping on others for asking for updates or making suggestions in this uptight, anal retentive thread. I'm sure I confused more than three people, but that was part of the intent. I pondered over using a winky face but decided not to in order to maximize effect. Now you tell me, how many times have I had Bingowings to tell me what my true intent was? How many times have we argued and I've clarified my position again and again, only to have you attack what you think my argument is despite multiple debunkings? How many times have I said that I meant one thing, or believe one thing, and he asserts, "No, no, you think or say or believe another thing"? No wonder you cling to ridiculous conspiracy theories: you don't take anyone at their word or any evidence at face value, but instead are convinced beyond the shadow of a doubt that your immediate interpretation must be correct.
So just to clarify, my previous post was a joke, a deliberate attempt at feigning overreaction, hoping most people would get it, but deliberately leaving room for doubt. This post, on the other hand, while also an overreaction, is completely genuine. I'm really tired of you telling me what I think.
If you, Post Praetorian, are interested in sticking around for a while, there are other multiplayer versions we could try out:

This is a 3-player game on a hex board as well, but in general it is simpler. The pieces move exactly as a hexagonal counterpart to the square board, for instance, instead of modified version. There are no rules for alliances, and if you read the description in the link, the author believes the nature of shogi does pretty well to counter the petty diplomacy problem as it is without special rules. What I like most about it are the victory/defeat conditions: a player must have all three kings to win, and does not lose if his king has been captured. A captured king must be dropped immediately, so a player can try to get a king back. These simpler rules could make for an interesting game and do surprisingly well to overcome the problems inherent to 3 player games. I am certainly more interested in the game we are playing, as I've wanted to play it for 18 years to see its complex rules in action, but this other game seems worth a try as well.
Also, I hope I could get enough players for 4-player Yonin Shogi, if you're ever interested. :)
