Force ghosts not being permanent. It undermines the whole point of Force ghosts.
Has anybody seen the final 3 episodes of "The Lost Missions"/Season 6? People say they feel like the original trilogy.
There's always been connections between the games. The back of A Link to the Past's box says that the game is about "the predecessors of Link and Zelda" and OOT is obviously the story of how Ganon was sealed in the Dark World. However, I do think that the official timeline went too far in connecting things. For example, Four Swords Adventures is inconsistent with the other games that involve Ganon(dorf).

I've never cared whether a game is 2D or 3D. In fact, A Link to the Past did the best job drawing me into its world. For example, I loved the foggy Lost Woods with the fitting music and the Master Sword deep inside. (the highlighting is a result of copy and pasting).

there's just something mystical about a link to the past
Agreed.

So if Nintendo were to approve a live-action The Legend of Zelda movie film, which games would be adapted and the reasons for your choice.
A Link to the Past for sure. It has the best story out of all the games in my opinion.
I love the idea of OOT and ALTTP as one big story. OOT flows into ALTTP perfectly.

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If the Sith keep coming back, why do the Jedi keep thinking that they're extinct?

What I'm talking about is far stupider than what they're talking about in that thread.

A Link to the Past is my favorite video game. I've completed it way too many times (more than twenty, at least). I have it memorized. o_O
Agahnim and Ganon forever!

Although the EU describes multiple Jedi orders/philosophies and the earliest Star Wars book chronologically describes the Jedi as finding balance in the force (i.e. balancing the "light side" and "dark side") rather than being strictly "light side" users. I thought that was the way Jedi should have been in the prequels. They're also a lot more individual, are allowed to marry and have families, and have much more interesting methods of training.
Anyway, in case you're interested, the book I'm describing is Dawn of the Jedi: Into the Void by Tim Lebbon. The writing style isn't great unfortunately (meaning it isn't bad, just that it could be better), but I still enjoyed reading about what the Jedi could have been.
Have you read the Dawn of the Jedi comics? I love them.
The Zelda games arw my absolulte favorite video games, A Link to the Past in particular. It's fun to explore Hyruke and swordfight and Ganon(dorf) is an awesome character.
I'd love if Exar killed Maul and said, "I was wielding a double saber before there were Darths!"

Ya know, I've really come to dislike KOTOR. The prequelization of eras outside of the PT began in earnest with this damn video game.
Drew Karpyshyn's a shitty writer, though, so it's really no surprise that he likes painting things with a PT brush.
My feelings exactly. The different eras aren't distinguisable anymore.

Just thought of this issue, for all the EU fans.
Ep. 7 is going to come out and with it will be a bunch of tie in novels. These will be new extended takes on characters featured in ep. 7. Kinda like the prequel novels that centered on Obi Wan's training etc.
They are still coming out with EU novels but eventually these ep. 7 novels will take precedent. They are probably being written write now.
Are these novels going to be EU since they are after ep 6? Most likely they are starting an alternate timelline. So at some point Disney will have to announce the EU is done and this new timeline takes over. So Mara Jade will be erased from existence...
As Doc Brown would say Great Scott!
I hope the EU writers use the upcoming overhaul of the EU as an opportunity to finally establish the existence of a greater SW Multiverse. There's no reason whatsoever for there to only be a single universe with a single timeline (and never has been).
Stories set in a universe in which Vader isn't Luke's father and Palpatine is a figurehead could be interesting.
I disagree with ratpack's prediction. I think the existing EU will comtinue as a separate universe.
All the revisionism that canon nazis use.
NeverarGreat said: The EU means Expanded Universe, not Different Universe. This is why Lucas specifically forbid writers from delving into the Clone Wars period and tried to make the prequels fit with the EU instead of disregarding it completely.
This is why Lucas should be ignored. Lucas called it EU, but Disney should call it DU (different universe).
I wonder what the saga would look like if Lucas decided to make a prequel in 1980 instead of making ESB.
Were the different colors of Imperial uniforms intended to mean anything?

Isn't that just a rumor on Latino Review?
Its a guess on my part really but I have a feeling its going that way. We're not getting Rinzler's Making of Episode I for instance. I know they want to concentrate on ep. 7 but really those books are for hardcore fans. They really want to put the prequels behind them. I bet there are a few winks and nods in ep. 7 that the prequels didn't happen or things happened differently "from a certain point of view"
The Rinzler thing could be because he's busy working on an Episode VII book.

Tales of the Jedi. It doesn't take itself too seriously and it feels like Star Wars. Definitely Kevin J. Anderson's best work.

That's exactly what I was trying to say. Thanks for the pictures.
I hate how the EU uses "prequel logic" to get away with nearly anything.
To each their own. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion.
