Darth Andeddu. There shouldn't be any Darths in his era.

How the Legacy comics predestined things to end up a certain way. Why should I care about Caedus, Abeloth, or the Lost Tribe when I know that Krayt is going to end up in charge? Why should I care what Luke, Leia, and Han are doing when I know that they'll be dead?
Dathka Graush. I love when the Sith species kicks ass.

^Where I draw the distinction between the two instances is that Yoda was shown instructing multiple students (and served as a surrogate mentor for Obi-Wan following Qui-Gon's death), whereas Dooku's master was created specifically for the novels and had no basis in canon.
Obi-Wan not being Yoda's padawan would fall under "what do you hate about the prequels", and the prequels' problems don't make the EU's any better.
Empire's End. A rushed ending for The Emperor and everything's back to where it was in ROTJ.

The WEG stuff is much better than the EU that it spawned.
There are exceptions to my statement.

What?
If they don't care about Lucas's treatments, no way they're going to care about his special editions.
There's a huge difference between an unused script and a thing the public saw.
The OOT is also a thing that the public saw.

I'd say WRONG THREAD if this thread was actually about something.
I'd say RIGHT THREAD if this thread was about the OOT.
Not fully sure if missed the point, but pretty sure.
I got the point. I just don't agree with it.
Maybe Marvel wants the comics to match the Marvel movies better.

Great to hear! I said from the beginning they shouldn't use his treatments, and that they were cursed.
If GL's treatments weren't used for ESB, Yoda wouldn't exist and Vader wouldn't be Luke's father.

How little mystery was allowed to remain. There's lots of "The Force is objectively this way" crap.

All nonsense. There is nothing in the films to imply a year ISN'T what we mean by a year. Anything else is EU writers trying to hard.

What I hate is the very concept of "canon". I don't care if one story is consistent with another or not, I just want a story that's good.

Welp, just read the first issue. It wasn't bad. The art is definitely a step down after Dark Horse but it was serviceable.
*SPOILERS*
I do take issue with Luke facing off with Vader right after Star Wars, using his old lightsaber against him no less. We'll see how that pans out next issue I guess. At least Vader didn't already know who Luke was like the last Dark Horse series.
It's possible that Luke was having a vision of Vader coming.
DuracellEnergizer said: That ship sailed a long time ago when Lucas made TPM. Why bitch about Disney tossing out the EU now when Lucas himself has been doing it since 1999?
We all remember when the Republic fought against insane clones and Yoda was Obi-Wan's master.
I stopped reading the books when Chewie died. Chewie's death was an unneccesary "sacrifice" that was just there for shock value.

Nothing ruined the EU more thoroughly than the Legacy era did.
This. Jacen, who was firmly on the light side in The Unifying Force becomes a Sith and becomes more powerful than The Emperor and Vader were. Luke, who forgave Vader and the Vong, doesn't forgive Jacen. A Force Vision from The Clone Wars is now something that actually occured. Krayt brings the Empire and Sith back into power and purges the Jedi AGAIN.

I tried reading "Tarkin."
it opens with a chapter describing why Peter Cushing's uniform looked the way it did. Very detailed. Very dull. Stopped reading, went back to library.
James Luceno is one author whose SW books I'm not even going to bother with in the future.
What else did he write that you dislike?
Tobar said:
That's not EU. That's "canon" now.
I don't think that canonicity is enough of a distinction to warrant a separate thread.

I have noticed no new star Wars books have come out since Disney bought them.
A New Dawn and Tarkin both came out post-Disney.
