My favorite Palpatine first name is "Cosinga". A good nod to the rough draft.

makes me sad.
Vodo Siosk-Baas, like Yoda, should not be shown wielding a lightsaber.
I agree so much. Where did you come across this image?

I think Palpatine works better as a self-taught darksider, someone who attained all that power working alone, someone who has his own personal reasons and goals for following the dark side.
Making him a Sith Lord -- making him part of any greater Force religion -- having it so that he does what he does because its in line with some pre-existing dogma -- reduces the character in my eyes.
This, plus TFN's fanatical zeal for the word "Sith" has made me hate that word.
In 1977-1983, I thought that "the Sith" was Vader's Stormtrooper legion.

It was really dumb he had to be called Darth Sidious and have a red lightsaber, like Yoda having a lightsaber and being a great warrior.
I was always convinced the emperor and yoda were above mere physical conflict.
And this too.

The convention in Anaheim is just a few weeks away. There will doubtlessly be a lot of people there wondering the same thing we are. Disney/Lucasfilm can't expect it to go by without at least saying something about it. It's been almost two and a half years since the buyout and they haven't said a word. The elephant in the room has become too big to ignore.
This is why i think that we'll get some sort of quality presentation of the OOT on blu ray, maybe not a restoration on the same scale as 1997, but at least a transfer on par with most acceptable blu rays released today.
In other words, a fresh transfer...by Lowry.
That wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing. It depends on whether Reliance Media Works (who bought-out Lowry) still uses the old Lowry's restoration methods.
As well as how much say Lowry had in the process.

That's good news.
Another random thought: if you post anything bad about legends or good about the new canon on the Star Wars Books facebook page, they'll create memes with your profile picture to make fun of you.
Most of the EU ignores what's implied in the movies, screenplays, and novelizations, but WEG is largely true to them. For example, in some drafts of the ESB screenplay, the Empire has a Grand Vizier. WEG talks about the Grand Vizier, but the Thrawn books are like, "nope, the Empire has "Grand Admirals" and "Emperor's Hands"".
The planet Fiddanl. Mercury oceans and rapidly drifting continents are cool concepts that I would love to see.
Thank you for your take on the Emperor hologram scene. It makes the scene much more enjoyable.
- "Dark Horse will never loose the license."
- "The EU will never be decanonized."
- "Episode numbers will never be excluded from marketing."
I kept hearing all those claims, and look where we are now.
The TIEs that we see in the movies actually being "TIE LNs", with TIEs actually being a predeccesor and T.I.E. being a predeccesor to that.
The Rogue Squadron games
It would have been cool if Amidala's advisors in TPM dressed like Palpatine's advisors in ROTJ. It would show that the Naboo aristocracy is in charge of the Empire thanks to Palpatine's Naboo origins.
Three things I like about the Vader comic:
1. We see Tagge's starfleet that Motti mentions in Star Wars (1977).
2. We see Vader's starfighter squadron, something I've always been dissappointed that we didn't see in ESB, ROTJ, or the legends EU.
3. Tagge outranks Vader, which fits how Vader is presented in Star Wars (1977).

Those eyes have an interesting color.
Just because the ships look the same doesn't mean that their specs haven't changed and maybe the Empire no longer has the resources for new ships.
Luuke

How? Any Sith Lord could have trained Palpatine.
DuracellEnergizer said: an overpowered supervillain in a poorly written comic book.
I definitely hate the comic-bookyness of the EU. "Clone Emperor has World Devastators! Greatest threat ever! Daala has the Sun Crusher! Greatest threat ever! Yuuzhan Vong can Vongform planets! Greatest threat ever! Vitiate can suck the color out of planets! Greatest threat ever!"

Luke goes one further making himself a Grand Master.
He was in charge of all the other Jedi.
There's also a big difference between claiming to have a rank that you don't have and claiming to be part of an organization that you're not part of.
skyjedi2005 said:
Or C'boath or Luke Skywalker self appointing themselves Jedi masters.
C'Boath was insane and nobody else considered him a Jedi master, and Luke was already a Jedi when he took on an apprentice, making him a Jedi who's a master of another Jedi.

Not any more stupid than Kun and Ulic Qel Droma self appointing themselves dark lords of the sith.
They didn't appoint themselves. A spirit appointed them and marked their foreheads.
- How KOTOR II went "You thought Revan and Malak turned to the dark side on their own and became Sith by taking control of Kun and Ulic's followers? Noooo, there's "true Sith" out there". I also hate that KOTOR II renamed the Second Sith War the "Jedi Civil War".
- The idea that you can become a Sith just by calling yourself one. Sorry Sith fanboys, but you can't.

How the Legacy comics predestined things to end up a certain way. Why should I care about Caedus, Abeloth, or the Lost Tribe when I know that Krayt is going to end up in charge? Why should I care what Luke, Leia, and Han are doing when I know that they'll be dead?
Well, when "Star Wars" came out in 1977, there was a pretty good chance Luke, Leia, and Han would all die someday.
But we didn't know what sort of galaxy they'd leave behind.
Darth Andeddu. There shouldn't be any Darths in his era.
