• I think that Obi-Wan had at least one other Apprentice. Tarkin knows that Vader was Obi-Wan’s Apprentice, but doesn’t know that Vader = Anakin. Obi-Wan having another Apprentice would explain this.

• Maybe Yoda warned Obi-Wan and Anakin to stay out of the Clone Wars because war leads to the dark side, but Obi-Wan and Anakin didn’t listen.

The True Sith, the powerful ancestors of the primitives who the Rakata and Jedi Exiles found on Korriban, the Dark Lords of the Rakata, want revenge. The last Sith ghosts have been destroyed by the New Republic and New Jedi Order. The True Sith watched with horror as Palpatine fell into a reactor and Exar Kun’s spirit was killed. No traces of the Sith species or Order remain in the parts of the galaxy known to humans, and the True Sith have decided that it’s time to take things into their own hands.

Some notes:

• Kalgrath, Palpatine clones, Lumiya, A’Sharad Hett, and the Vong don’t exist.
• All spirits and holocrons on Korriban are destroyed by the time of TPM.
• The True Sith colonized Korriban. The Sith species we all know are the primitive descendents of colonists who lost contact with their fellow Sith.
• The Rakata were corrupted and puppeteered by the True Sith, hence the True Sith being the Dark Lords of the Rakata. The True Sith also corrupted Xendor, the first Dark Lord of the Sith.
• Like in the actual EU, the Sith species uses the dark side because of their culture, not because of their genetics.
• The only things that have to happen are the original Jedi Schism and resulting formation of the Dark Lords of the Sith and the events of the original trilogy. Things like TOR don’t have to happen.
• My inspirations are an early Vong concept described in The Essential Reader’s Companion and fan speculation that occured in between KOTOR II’s and TOR’s release.

Beast Wars, Dark Lords of the Sith, the Sith War, and Redemption were all excellent, so I’d adapt those, although I’d remove the “Sith poison” that turned Ulic and I’d make Freedon Nadd the first human to interact with the Sith species (meaning no Dark Lords before Exar). I’d definately drop Golden Age of the Sith and Fall of the Sith Empire.

• That TPM created a plot hole by having Yoda know about the Rule of Two. When and how the Rule of Two came to be isn’t mentioned in TPM, so as far as TPM goes, the Sith could have openly existed with the Rule of Two for a million years before their “extinction”.

• Sound in space. Why should Star Wars be beholden to the physics of real life?

In one of the Disney canon comics, Luke finds a holocron that says the Sith were born from “the Hundred-Year Darkness”.

The Disney canon hasn’t touched on the
origin of the Sith yet, so there’s still a chance.

Here’s my idea: Rather than Kun reviving the Dark Lords, Kun is the first Dark Lord of the Sith and Freedon Nadd’s master is/was a leader of the Sith species. Also, the Sith Empire would have disappeared from the galaxy in 25,000 BBY rather than 5000 BBY.

In the Legends EU, I would have enjoyed seeing Vader get coronated by the Dark Lords of the Sith who inhabit Korriban. The comic, “Empire’s End” shows that they created a throne for Vader.

The transforming Emperor quote seems to be from before Yoda was created, and the idea was that there would be a battle between Palpatine and Obi-Wan in which it would be revealed that they can switch between physical and ghost forms at will. This is seen in the first screenplay draft of ROTJ and I suspect that introducing Palpatine as a hologram was supposed to make him seem “ghostly”. That quote may or may not have been from before Lucas decided to end the Luke-Vader-Palpatine Saga with the third (in release order) film.

• The definite origin of the Sith. The New Jedi Order novels were supposed to involve a civilization strong in the dark side that corrupted the founder of the Sith, but Lucas rejected the idea because he wanted to emphasize the Rule of Two.

In the video game “Jedi Power Battles”, Plo Koon uses Force Lightning in spite of being a lightsider. I don’t mind that because Jedi Power Battles was an out-of-continuity video game. What I hate is that the EU proceded to canonize it as “electric judgement”.

The whataboutism of the EU’s defenders. Sometimes I would criticize the EU and someone would respond with, “The prequels did that too.”

Another part of the idea was that the masters are the secret rulers of the galaxy, with Yoda being the secret mentor of the more famous Obi-Wan and Palpatine secretly being a dark side master.

You might onto something considering that Lucas initially saw the Jedi and Sith as Samurai serving rival Feudal Lords.

Pre-1985 VHS tapes of ANH use the theatrical stereo mix. I’m unsure about the sound mixes in pre-DC/Faces releases of ESB and ROTJ.

The title of this thread does point to something interesting: The original and prequel trilogies all worked within the premise that there was a Republic and a Jedi Order, but then the Republic became an Empire and wiped out the Jedi Order, and a Rebellion and the surviving Jedi are trying to bring back the Republic and Jedi Order. TFA has the Empire collapse, a New Republic and Jedi Order form, this Jedi Order also collapse, and the First Order and Resistance form off-screen.

It’s just my theory. It comes from my head alone, not from leaks, rumors, or spoilers.

We’ll have to see what direction they take Snoke in. I like the idea that the Jedi were formed to defeat Snoke, so Snoke corrupted one of the Jedi, who then founded the Sith. Now that the Sith are gone, Snoke has decided to take things into his own hands.

I like that From a Certain Point of View gave the Sandperson who knocked Luke out a name other than, “URoRRuR’R’R”.

Thoughts on the concept of lightsaber crystals? Do you like it or would you have preferred that lightsabers just be technology that the Jedi and Sith use?
