Any news on potential x264 releases? There was talk a few pages ago of seeing how best to encode to that format. Those of us who ditched DVDs in favor of HTPCs would be most jazzed for the superior quality of x264 (or any modern codec really).

Of course, I fully respect the time and effort DJ already put into the project. So I'll take whatever is released and be happy.

Actually I have looked into it anymore since then, I have just been SO happy to finally get this done and out, but I will look into it a little more now, I am running some tests as I type this, so we will see.

24fps video on retail Blu-ray question.
Time

I have not checked the time on the video, I sync audio to audio, and both are 94 mins, except the DD 2.0 is like 10 or so secs longer because of the studio canal intro, but I line up the audio after that point, I will edit in the intro when I get back to it. I can take the intro off the DTS-HD MA Italian 5.1, the Blu-rays are Italian and UK, the Italian has the better video with only DTS-HD MA 5.1 Italian(this is the version with the DD 2.0 English so I can sync it) and the UK with the crappy video has the nice DTS-HD MA 5.1 English, if both video's are at 24fps the audio can't be in PAL, at least I wouldn't think, but either way both are Region B Blu's so the audio should line right up after the intro, this one really confuses me LOL, this should be a simple ass project.

24fps video on retail Blu-ray question.
Time

Actually, I probably didn't phrase my question real well, the video is really not so much the problem, I just cannot figure out why the audio goes way out so fast, how is the audio made to run at that speed? and can it be brought back to run at 23.976? LOL I probably still am not making sense, the issue is the audio, I need to sync the DTS-HD MA 5.1 to the crappy DD 2.0 on the Blu-ray, I just can't understand the difference whe both files are exactly the same length, time wise.

24fps video on retail Blu-ray question.
Time

OK I have a retail Blu and the video is encoded at 24fps and obviously the audio to that Blu is in sync, well the English audio is only 2.0, I have the English DTS-HD MA English 5.1 track I want to sync up to this video but it goes out right away, I get them in sync right from the start and literally within minutes is already drifting out, by the end of the file it is way out, so my question is, do they encode the audio at 24fps to? and if so how do I get the video and audio back to 23.976fps? I hope this is making sense because I am stumped on this one, at first I was thinking one is cut and one is not, but both versions are exactly the same length, except for the studio canal intro on the Blu-ray with the DD 2.0, but that is easy enough to add to the new file, so if anyone has any suggestions I am all ears.

Thanks

You know the thing with these Verb DL donations that is kind of funny, for 1 thing, it took me a while to even decide I want to do this, I HATE when people take donations for these things, because some of the projects never even show up(I won't name examples) and then you have some here that really get a lot of $ donated and I think that is just crazy(because for me, I would feel like I have to pay that cash back) but to each their own right, that is why I finally decided to accept blank Verb DL's, I most certainly did NOT want money, but the blanks are truly a help, but all that said, only a very select few even offered at the time, but now that everything is finished, now I get a lot of PM's for offers, all I can think of is this, where were you guys back when I started to take them LOL, and these are just my opinions only, and as I said above, I am not 100% certain I won't accept anymore, some were already trashed in error\problems(no bad burns though, got a great burner) and then I think that more testers is also a better thing, who knows.

*Edit - and please do not think I am trying to be a smart ass to you guys, I really do like most of the members here, and appreciate the offers still, hell one guy offered some blank Blu-ray Discs LOL if I didn't need DL's, these projects don't even use those, but since I have a BD burner, those might be nice, especially for my next project.

Star Wars 1977 70mm sound mix recreation [stereo and 5.1 versions now available] (Released)
Time

Thanks h_h for that info, I have to admit when I first saw this had a new post by you, I thought you did yet another version and I was going to have to wait again LOL, truth be told, at this point I probably wouldn't have waited anyways, the V3 DVD's are done.

This is cool thought that you think it is pretty darn close to the Theatrical though, you purist version, did you get a chance to listen to the audio on the Jedi theater bootleg VideoCollector did? be nice to see if that is pretty close also.

GOUT, Automated Theatrical Colouring, and a Reference Guide

You know that is all good doing these adjustments in VLC, but we need some sample adjustments using software that will actually change the avi file, to me VLC adjustments mean nothing, does VLC save the changes and render a new lossless avi? I could be wrong but I think that is what we are trying to do here, is make substantial adjustments to the file and render a new one, but as I said, I could be wrong.

Now that I have the V3 finally finished and just about out the door, I would LOVE to revisit this, I still have(actually will always have LOL)the lossless avi files on my PC of the V3 files, I would like to be more aggressive on getting these colors right, or at least closer, so if anyone wants to team up and help me figure this out, I would love the company LOL, because some of the software used on this, I have zero experience with, I also have all the Blu-ray files(HD) on my external drive.
