The blu-ray color looks nice too. Your hard work will definitely not go unnoticed!

I'm listening to the Prague re-recording now and it's going to be fun seeing it alongside picture.

Conan is less of a movie and more of a blueprint for living according to John Milius. :-)

LOL, I just watched the Blu-ray yesterday with the new 2010 Score, and damn does it sound nice.

So, unbelievably excited about this reconstruction! Especially the color correction.

Kudos to Netflix for streaming the theatrical in HD but who knows how long that will be available. Finding the theatrical on oop DVD was even a chore. And as best I can tell, it is from the same master as my old LD.

Well not sure if you are aware or not, but it was corrected to match the retail Blu-ray, it would have been way to much work to do it the other way around, while working with You_Too on this we had a hell of a time just doing what we did, it ended up being a lot more work than either of us thought, and I am thankful as hell that he stuck it out with me until the end, it really did pay off and looks great!

The OOP DVD is also letterboxed, it isn't even anamorphic, but who needs the old DVD now when we have this, and yes, if it wasn't for Netflix HD streaming the HD version of the Theatrical Cut this project would have never been.

It is 25fps, there should be no problem at all bringing this to 23.976, not sure how you are doing it, or what you are using, but I was going to wait and download your version if you made it available because I have enough projects on my plate at the moment, but I see now I should probably do it myself.

Thanks anyways, and I did read above LOL.

... Maybe wait for you 2nd isolated score then.

It would be a third, not a second, and I have been reading about this for a while now and have seen no mention of when it is coming out, or if it truly is, so for right now, I am taking this a BS until I see real proof, but I certainly hope it is true.

OK if there is anyone left still following this, I finally have some news and updates to share on this, first it is finally done! I have burned a test BD this afternoon and am going to watch it just as soon as I get done filling everyone in here, but before I go on, I have to Thank a very Special member right here at OT for spending a lot of time on this with me, if it was not for him this would not be ready yet, and surely would not look as good as it does,

so You_Too(We are on a first name basis now but because this is an open forum I will use his nick name) you are the MAN! you truly know this coloring stuff hands down, I knew when you agreed to help me with this it was going to look fantastic, but I had no idea it would turn out THIS fantastic! you are a great person, and your help couldn't have been any easier to understand, your instructions and files and tips and tricks are second to none, very, very easy to understand and use, you are truly an asset here at OT, and I hope that if I ever need any kind of help like this again, you are still available here at OT, so a HUGE Thank you to you my Friend, great job!

I also want to Thank The Lizard King for the Conan The Barbarian LD ripped bit-perfect PCM, Imrahil for the kick ass cover, and Netflix HD for the much needed Theatrical footage.

Here are the specs for this now, they have changed from my initial thoughts, first, I had to ditch the DTS-HD MA 5.1, there are just to many differences between the US Theatrical ending and the Extended, and I had no good sources to draw from, MrBrown provided the German 5.1 DD English tracks but these were just horrible upmixes, I could have done a better job upmixing LOL, but I still Thank him for helping in any way he could, so no HD 5.1 main audio on this one, there was just no way to make it blend right, hell a lot of people I told this to was actually glad I ditched it, I guess most do not like it anyways, so here is what the audio options will be(selectable by your remote)

1. LPCM 2.0 (Original Theatrical) *sourced from the Theatrical Laserdisc by TLK.
2. DTS-HD MA 2.0 (Isolated 1982 Original Score) *sourced from the rare OOP Varese Sarabande 16 track CD.
3. DTS-HD MA 2.0 (Isolated 2010 Re-recorded Score) *sourced from the new 2 Disc CD Set which is complete score.

a note on the Iso Scores though, obviously these are not 100% accurate, there is just no way to be 100%, some tracks run faster, some slower, and some have more music, but I lined them up the best I could, and on the 1982 score I realized that the last 2 tracks were meant for the extended version of the film, because these tracks did not fit at all, so instead of editing the tracks, which probably would have sounded bad LOL, I just let 1 of them run and omitted the last one altogether, and you will hear that the re-recorded 2010 score is just a little different, but still sounds really cool, I added this one just for fun, I have read that this is actually how Basil Poledouris actually wanted this score to sound, he was unhappy with the Conan Score, it lacked instruments and such, he wanted more people and instruments, but anyways, I hope you like the tracks, I know I do.

The video is 1080p with 19.5 avg Mpbs, with the audio options already mentioned above, and the BD weighs in at 23.1 GB's

1 more thing on the job You_Too and I did on this, not only is there no difference in the color between the sources, we even went as far as to add grain to the Theatrical source to match the BD source, and it even fades in and out just like the BD, it is truly amazing, I just can't say enough about how good this looks.

Here is a sample of the Theatrical ending, it is low bitrate 720p video, it has DD 2.0 audio, but this audio was sourced form the lossless LPCM I am using, so what you see and hear, is what you get, I hope you like it.

and here is the new updated cover to match the new specs, Thanks again to Imrahil,

So how is the audio on the LD? I actually have this LD as well as Nosferatu and both versions of Bram Stokers Dracula(Criterion and Special Edition).

also so without knowing how good the LD audio is, and going by what captainsolo is saying, would it be better to use the 99 audio for a base and fill in what is missing with the 06 audio? and not waste time with 04?

it does seem though that the 1080i HD video is the best hands down to use though, it really looks great! here are some screens,

also captainsolo you have a PM.

also which audio is on the HD version, I would assume the 06, or is it new? I have not watched it yet, just skimmed through the video.

You_Too, I just have to say that your color correcting looks DAMN good! and all the tweaks you show on others projects(Harmy, Puggo, etc.) just look very, very nice, you really have this color correcting stuff down, I truly wish I could color match\correct well, but I fully admit, it is definitely not my strong point, keep up the GREAT work, it is all looking good.

OK, I am going ahead and putting the files I have in sync, 1130-85 side1 is finished and I should have 1130-85 side2 done some time this afternoon, then I need a break LOL, as I have said several times like a busted record LOL, this type of work is extremely boring and time consuming, but worth it in the end.

Just wondering how that extremely boring and time consuming job is going?????

It is not going so good at the moment, actually I have not even touched it again since my last update, but it will get done, all the new files I have will be put in complete sync for the updated BD's I am doing.

DJ, any updates to share regarding the blu's?

No not yet, I NEED to finish my Conan project first and clear it from my hard drive, plus I am redoing all 3 of them, SW & ROTJ are pretty much done, just waiting on the files from h_h so I can encode a new DD 5.1 & DTS-HD MA 5.1, so that is about it, have a lot of things going on right now and not all of it is good, when I have more to share, you know I will.

Very interested in your DTS-HD track if its still available, DJ!

I will have to re upload it, I deleted it a long time ago after all the interest had died down, also I may revisit this and see if I can tweak it even better, I have learned so much in the audio side of things over the past year or so, I will let you know when I dig the files up off my external and re upload.

Thanks again for all that info, as I said, I will wait until you verify that it is uncut or not, which really only amounts to seconds LOL, because like I said above, I got burned buying that Kinowelt DVD, it was definitely not uncut, as I was thinking, but was probably uncut for that particular Country.

I ordered a Total Recall SteelBook a while back, and they claimed it was uncut, well I learned then that it was truly uncut for that Country, but it was the same cut that We in the US have always had, so I have learned that just because a Foreign Country claims their release to by "uncut" or "uncensored" this does not necessarily mean it is this for us in the US, and I am thinking that is exactly what the deal is with Scream, but I hope you prove me wrong.

Thanks

Well that sounds good, you said you are getting the Trilogy? let me know if it is truly the uncut version, I ordered the Kinowelt DVD years ago with the understanding it was the uncut version, and when I got it, it was not, so I am not going to make the same mistake twice, I will wait and see what you say, so if I understand you correctly, you ar saying that the Trilogy will have this,

Uncut version of Scream (so if this is true, finally uncut version is good quality)
Remastered version of Scream 2 (this should look a lot better than our US version correct?)
Scream 3 (probably same version all releases have)

also any extras on this Set?

Thanks again MrBrown, you are very helpful!

OK MrBrown, new project added to my list of BD projects LOL, I just got my German Bruce Lee Box Set, so I am obviously going to use the video from this Set, and the DTS 2.0, but then I am going to add the DTS 5.1 from my DVD Box Set, and fix that 7+ minute audio error you mentioned on the Game of Death BD, so then I will be 100% happy with my Bruce Lee BD's.
