You are right, I did not see your response, but I have now, I say let's just stay with the video you have the sample to, the main thing to this project anyways is the audio, not the video, at least for me anyways, because either way the video is going to have a low bit rate anyhow because we need it for the RAW PCM(wav) or the DTS.

I used the GOUT v3 ESB video, I could use the 2004 DVD's instead, that would look much better, but then we will be sync'ing to the SE and not Theatrical, which to me makes no difference, I would use the better video, I am NOT a Theatrical only guy, I like ALL versions.

Let me know what version you want to use, because obviously I will have to get you audio that is in sync to that version.

That said, I will sure use the new improved material especially for D_J's DVD. ;)

Speaking of which, this is a sample of what I had in mind, I think this is what ABC wants to do as well, it is a clip of ESB in Black & White with a track from ABC's AE, it was put together fast just to see if this is the direction we wnated to go in.

Thanks for posting, the subs do look ok I guess, I was a little worried there. I hadn't actually seen them in motion yet. ;) The image look great unsquished and the audio is in perfect sync, good job!

Is it just me or does the line "every bounty hunter in the galaxy will be looking for you" look a little off in the timing? I don't know, maybe I'm just used to how it is in the original cut. I did use the LD timings though... oh well, done is done I guess.

Well if you are going to do some tweaking better do it now, it is going to be finalized soon and I won't go back.

I am thrilled to work with you on this project ABC, just tell me what you need and I will upload it for you ASAP.

in the meantime, here is a sample of ESB in B&W with one of ABC's tracks, it is not perfect but it gives an idea of what I would like to do with a complete score.
(it is ESB GOUT 16:9 widescreen and ABC's raw PCM file for audio)

I just want to echo what msycamore said, these do have some minor issues as well, I am not going through these frame by frame, I am also NOT color correcting these, the '97 has its own look and feel, it is NOT supposed to look like the GOUT or the '04's, it is its own thing, like they say, it is what it is, but these do look way better than my LD captures would have looked, hands down.

I should have ANH and ESB done soon then onto Jedi, as I said before they are movie only DVD's with the LD 5.1 audio fully sync'd up.

There is also another error in the '93 PCM for Empire.  It comes right at the beginning of the carbon freeze scene--there is a weird jump cut in the music just before C-3PO says, "If only you'd attached my legs, I wouldn't be in this ridiculous position."  The music cue starts and then it seems to start again less than half a second later.  It is distracting and weird once noticed.

Neither the GOUT nor my Faces vhs tape have this error--it must have been spotted and fixed by someone at LFL in '95 (which lends credence to my theory that the GOUT Empire's audio came from a vhs master, hence its dynamic compression).  I don't know whether the Faces laserdisc also has this fix or if it is carried over from the DC, but it's worth checking.

Sorry to say it is on the "Faces" and "DC" LD sets, I just checked.

There's file size and SFV from the disc Belbucus sent me.
Will listen for the glitch when I get home....

I got a set from ChainsawAsh and I downloaded the GOUT audio alternatives from the newsgroups and all versions I got have this error, but it doesn't matter now, I already have it fixed, and as I said above, no more having to add delay either, straight up PCM already sync'd to the GOUT.

The more and more audio sync'ing I am doing in Vegas has really opened my eyes, whoever did the '93 tracks they were not 100% accurate, there are some very minute discrepancies in there, so these will never be 100% perfect for everyone, but I cannot find anything at all glaring on my sync jobs, as a matter of fact, I am redoing them now because I think I can even do even better, also anyone who has the '93 PCM tracks might want to check their copy of ESB, there is an audio glitch(high pitch screetch) shortly after the part where Han says to turn the Falcon around on the Star Destroyer to make an "attack" run and the guy says shields up, hairy_hen spotted it and asked if I could send him a patch and sure as shit, it was on my copies as well, so I am going over the '93 PCM tracks.

so ChainsawAsh, just a soon as I get ALL PCM tracks sync'd perfectly(because even Belbucus' needed delay, these new versions will not) I will contact you if you are still interested in all the PCM tracks.

PCM tracks I will have,
Star Wars - '77 Mono, '77 Theatrical, '85 Stereo remix, '93 Stereo mix.
Empire - '80 Theatrical Stereo, '85 Stereo remix, '93 Stereo mix.
Jedi - '83 Theatrical Stereo, '85 Stereo remix, '93 Stereo mix.

Just a small update, I have ANH SE done and ESB SE will be done today, I am going to burn and watch them and make sure there are no issues, I was going to add some stuff to these but have changed my mind, I have to many projects going at once and am starting to get really Star Wars burned out, so they will be movie only DVD's with the LD DD 5.1 audio.

Oh and 1 more thing, msycamore has graciously put some his time to this project as well, he is doing all the sub work for me again, Thanks msycamore.
