There were a couple of clinkers in there 😉 though I did enjoy the more character-based stories - a little more believably as to their decisions/actions - though it did result in playing it safe story-wise for a couple of episodes.

I do wonder if it’s to do more with how PKD’s stories have become staples over the years - with lots of homages paid to them in other sci-fi stories - which then dilute PKD’s efforts themselves…

I think this is certainly most of it, and something I remember reflecting on when I watched the first few episodes.

I enjoyed the last season of Black Mirror - but hope Brooker takes a few more chances in the next season - to mix things up and give a little more uncertainty (maybe more shock/surprise value?) - some episodes did feel a bit ‘samey’ as to what had come before.

Yeah, it’s neat that they are all in the same universe, but it also contributes to the feeling of sameness.

Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams - Season 1

In a similar vein to Black Mirror - and enjoyable to watch too. A few nice twists and turns along the way for most of the stories - and always good to see well executed episodic sci-fi on tv 😃

i saw the first few, and didn’t continue. it seems dated to me, or maybe its just that i feel like i know what is happening in each episode long before it concludes… somehow black mirror seems fresher, or even if i know what is happening, it keeps me intrigued. Maybe i’ll finish Electric Dreams before my Prime subscription expires. (Still need to see season two of Sneaky Pete)

Things that you would like to see in Star Wars that have not happened

I think in theory you could make any sort of movie as long as there is some sort of reference to the force. If you made a movie with a 0 Force content I think you’d be really stretching the definition of a Star Wars movie.

Although Rogue One probably could have dropped all the force connections with the Monk Etc and I still would have thought it was a Star Wars movie so who knows.

As we enter our second decade of continuous zero-to-subzero net illegal immigration from Mexico, Trump is celebrating by sending the National Guard to the southern border.

Presumably while there, they can pick up some litter and rescue some cats from trees, as they contemplate their fate as a sentient but equally pointless wall.

You know Trumpy will fly in and do a big ass photo op. The troops will be quietly withdrawn soon as they’re actually needed somewhere else. Or when nobody is paying attention.

Or when no one is paying
