Page Navigation Bar request

Personally, I kinda like it - and results in the member reading/scanning through a bit of the OP’s post before getting to the navigation bar (which on the whole is a good thing).

It’s a bit of a pain for lengthy posts such as per dahmage’s example - yet nothing a few decent hits of the ‘Page Down’ button doesn’t rectify.

Sure, but if you have already read the OP?

Also, on mobile there is no page down. I guess I can ask the doctor to send my Trigger Thumb bills to OT?

New 4K releases - but are they any good?

I’m currently working my way through the Jurassic Park 4k set. The original film looks stunning. The second one looks pretty good too. There’s a massive drop off in quality with the third one though, it looks worse than a lot of 1080p blu-rays I’ve seen. Haven’t watched Jurassic World yet, but it’s a recent enough movie that I’d assume it’s original master would yield a fine UHD disc.

The third one was basically a direct-to-video kind of movie that ended up in a theater anyway, right? No one really seems to care about it.

The third one has some good scenes, like the foggy pterodactyl cage scene.

But if you like strawberry ice cream and you happen to eat a portion with rotten strawberries you know who is to blame: The one who made it.

In my analogy I established ice cream to be a film as an art and strawberry ice cream as a particular film (i.e. PT). Therefore if you don’t like strawberry ice cream (i.e. the foundations of PT: storyline, character development, etc.) it really doesn’t matter who makes it. In the end, a rotten strawberry or not, it will still be a strawberry ice cream.

character development in the PT? You must be trolling 😄

The problem with your analogy is, that strawberry ice cream is generally liked, whereas the PT is widely seen as inferior to the OT. If you translate the PT to an ice cream flavor it would probably be cheddar cheese. There are some people who may like it, but the majority isn’t exactly excited about it.

Now I want to get back on topic, so this is my last word on ice cream analogies.

This might be a factor in why some think the movie is drab looking?

That was definitely a factor in my enjoying of the film.

But it was 12:30 when the film was done and I’ve already complained at this establishment about dim pictures before and got absolutely no response from the management. “We would know if the projector was dim”.

I knew it was a cheap theater when I went there so I didn’t press the issue.

I’d say that she still isn’t convinced to fight for the Rebellion in the Hologram scene. She is actually more interested in finding and rescuing her father. It is only after his death (strangely, at the hands of the Rebellion) that she decides to get the plans. I don’t think she ever really aligns with the Rebellion, more accurate to say that they both have the same objective in the end.

That sounds more like what I remember.

See, I was right without knowing why.

At least you say that there is a character arc.

I mean sure. She changes in the movie. But it happens over the course of one scene and I think that she was an terribly written character.

I haven’t seen the movie*, but I don’t think you are right about this being all in one scene.

*In the past 8 months or so.

I’d love to hear a response to how what I said is not correct. She does not give a crap about the rebellion. She sees hologram in the very next scene. After this she is set on finding the death star plans and stopping the completion of the superweapon.

Send me 2.5 hours of free time and I’ll get right on it.

I’m just saying, I think if this really was such a poorly written scene as you claim it would have stuck out to me and I would remember it. But I don’t remember feeling that way about that scene, so I am disagreeing with you as accurately as I can manage.
