Team Negative1 - The Empire Strikes Back 1980 - 35mm Theatrical Version (Released)

I got hold of the 720p mkv version of the Renegade Grindhouse in the end (from usenet). It doesn’t seem to have any glitches towards the end after all, which the original 1080p mkv file suffered from.

However, I can’t get it to fit on a dual layer DVD disc despite this version having “DVD9” in the filename. I know that it won’t fit if converted to AVCHD format (which needs more room than just a raw mkv file), but I am simply trying to burn the raw mkv and it already seems too big. The mkv file I have is 8,724,585,522 bytes and ImgBurn tells me the capacity of my Verbatim DVD+R DL discs is only 8,547,991,552 bytes. I believe a number of posters in this thread have succeeded; what’s the trick?!

back in the CD burning days, you could usually try to do an ‘overburn’ if it wasn’t too far over capacity. not sure if that would be a good idea for this. it has the possibility of ruining your dvd drive if you burn past the edge of the material on the disk.

In what way I should watch a Star Wars Marathon?
Time

Completely get the good vibes… I just have a feeling that i will really want to watch ANH once the end credits of Rogue One roll, and i have a hard time justifying that to my Wife if i just watched ANH the week before. lol.

i can’t believe its barely a week away either. December is a hectic enough month, which is maybe a blessing in that i am not overly obsessing about Rogue One.

Someone hire me please.

Thanks.

The pay will be very low, in fact you probably won’t get any. but i would hire you (at no pay, and with no contract, in fact not even in any way hiring, just suggesting you do it) to explain to all the new users in the Preservations section, how they need to read the FIRST POST to see how to find SW DE 2.7.

i think its going to get noisy again for a few weeks.

ESB Grindhouse is on: myspleen, piratebay, a.b.starwars so you can take your pick. I think ROTJ is on myspleen & a.b.starwars, I just did a search and it wasn’t on tbp.

Are you able to send invites to myspleen? I have no idea how I can get one.

The same way everyone else does. Send TV’s Frink a PM.

Not sure if that is some version of a joke. I would not recommend PM’ing anyone on here for an invite to MySpleen unless you were invited to do so by the person you are sending a PM to. It is not nice to spam PM’s to people.

JEDIT: Stryder you have a PM

Hi Pug, thanks for the effort you’ve put into this. Any update? Life happens, (I hope we all get that), but I’m still hopeful for an update soonish?

I echo the same question. In the most respectful way possible on an internet forum.

I hope this 16mm preservation isn’t loosing steam due to all the other 35mm presentations. This is still valuable.

Trying to pick a space/alien type movie to watch this weekend with friends, in celebration of my birthday next week. trying to decide between more recent (perhaps Interstellar) and older (perhaps 2001) or in-between. Maybe spaceballs… or even something i haven’t seen if i think it looks good?

Any great classic movies out there (in the space genre) that would actually have some level of mass appeal?

We really desperately need mods to be color coded or something. It took me a minute to figure out how Anchorhead got the last post in a thread before it locked the other day.

I’ve been asking for a super cool moderator hat, or just an extra icon by my avatar, for some time now. I don’t think Zion is still a mod.

Nooooooooo!

Make Site Rules more obvious
Time

It seems that the site rules are not very obvious / discover-able for new users. (Not that this excuses anyone).

I just revisited the registration page, and it makes you agree to the Terms of Service but it is easy to scroll over that without realizing it is a list of rules.

And the Announcements category is getting full, and the Rules are kinda pushed down out of site. perhaps a “Rules” announcement should be made sticky?
