An average American Citizen who lashes out immediately instead of being rational, is nowhere near the problem for the nation as a President who lashes out immediately instead of being rational. We do and should hold the President to a higher standard.

My opinion is based on moral principal, not who holds a higher office, LOL. How you carry yourself is important regardless of how anyone else carries themselves. If you’re happy with double standards, that’s fine, but then say you’re okay with it.

😃

Consider this:

both Frink and the President are being judged by the same principle: they both could be considered knuckle heads if they lash out immediately with out being rational.

Now, we see they are both being judged by the same moral principle. they are both knuckle heads (in this thought experiment)

The part you seem to discredit however, is that a position of power (in this case being president of the “USA, USA, USA!!”), the fact that someone meets or doesn’t meet a moral standard, is amplified. in simple words, it matters more, because it affects more.

knuckle head on OT, annoying, but doesn’t get my laws or taxes changed.
Knuckle head in WH, annoying, can get my laws or taxes changed.

yeah. and another difference, i don’t think there was a national vote that had Frink on the ballot.

Jesus Christ, is he trolling? An idiot? Suffering from dementia? All of the above?

well we can rule out the first one. i wasn’t sure for quite a while, but i think we can now safely say that Donald Trump is not, in fact, Jesus Christ.

He could never have been because if I remember my Bible reading correctly, Jesus was not a white guy, LOL.

I guess i was confused by his spray tan

SEE YOU IN COURT, THE SECURITY OF OUR NATION IS AT STAKE!

@realDonaldTrump you have over 3000 pending lawsuits. Everyone has seen you in court.

https://twitter.com/HillaryClinton/status/829846842150096896

I’m no Hillary fan, but brutal.

Here’s the full decision:
https://assets.documentcloud.org/documents/3457898/2-9-17-9th-Circuit-Order.pdf

Here’s an important bit from it:

The States argue that the Executive Order violates the Establishment and Equal Protection Clauses because it was intended to disfavor Muslims. In support of this argument, the States have offered evidence of numerous statements by the President about his intent to implement a “Muslim ban” as well as evidence they claim suggests that the Executive Order was intended to be that ban, including sections 5(b) and 5(e) of the Order. It is well established that evidence of purpose beyond the face of the challenged law may be considered in evaluating Establishment and Equal Protection Clause claims.

Of course what is overlooked is the fact that the list was created during and by the Obama administration. I am not in favor of a Muslim Ban. I do think our vetting system is broken when it comes to obtaining real information for the investigations they use for vetting.

Creating a list of countries to keep an eye on because they are of greater risk than others for terrorist threats and taking steps towards creating a ban against people from predominantly Muslim countries are two very different things.

Something else not accounted for. The FBI has already stated publicly that large numbers of these refugees aren’t even native to said countries on the list they say they come from so they cannot get the proper information to clear them via the process.

That’s exactly what the Obama-era bills did: applied greater scrutiny to visas and travelers to and from the seven countries named, whether they were from that country or not, whether they were from a country with a visa waiver or not (so someone from the US or Canada traveling to Syria or Yemen would be watched more closely upon trying to enter the US). It didn’t try to ban people outright based on their citizenship (or perhaps religion, if taken far enough) like Trump’s Executive Order would.

What Tyr said. also, yes, vetting refugees is tough, we all should know this by now. being a refugee is even tougher. they are hard to vet, precisely because their lives have been destroyed so completely. it is sad that most refugees never leave refugee camps. many are born in them, grow up in them, and die in them. its a shitty world, and Trump trying to ban them is the shittiest.

In addition, the new trend of not wearing socks with shoes is stupid.

Where on Earth is that a new trend? LOL

mostly concentrated on the green and brownish bits. never really caught on in the bluey whiteish areas.

Weird because I know white people (presumably that is what your comment is referrencing) that do this.

I think he was referencing the parts of the Earth not covered in water or snow/ice.

Handman gets the prize. the prize is pride.

My mistake. I missed it. Go make the post in the correct thread so you can claim your pride.

😃

we have a pride prize thread?

trump doesn’t think the pipeline is controversial. Can any reasonable person justify that line of “thinking”?

It’s just one misrepresentation after another from Trump. In the case of the Keystone XL pipeline, it would create 35 permanent jobs: http://www.foxbusiness.com/markets/2017/01/27/pipeline-backers-make-big-promises-about-jobs-growth.html

The Dakota pipeline would probably create even fewer permanent jobs.

The idea that a pipeline would create more jobs is absurd on its surface, since that oil would be transported via truck, train, or ship into the US without the pipeline, and these methods would employ many more people.

And in what universe is this pipeline uncontroversial? It was literally stopped by thousands upon thousands of protesters in a nationwide outcry. The fact that he seems to be so uninformed about the pipeline protests is damning evidence that he lives in his own bubble surrounded by a force-field of alternative facts.

agreed. I have always viewed the “doing A will create BBBBBBBB jobs!” as a case of making very obvious white lies. and never assumed that those making the claims really took themselves seriously. Isn’t it obvious that anything related to constructing these pipelines is temporary? and also, the people building these things probably already have jobs, its just that they will be working on the pipepline instead of a different project.

if you want to help with employment, i think you need to think farther ahead. encourage research and development into new energy markets. you know, like Obama did?

“Eh, fuck the children of this country, I’m a Republican and the guy pretending to be a Republican wants her, so good enough for me!”

This is the dilemma of having McCain as Senator. Once in awhile he does something neat, and then he shits on it a day later. It’s a rollercoaster.

But rollercoasters are fun‽
