Have you still got any of that stuff? I was just watching the movie, and the thing that sticks out to me is that if a few of the shots were tightened up, and the dialogue about Ducard halfway through the film that spoils the twist were removed, it would be even better.

And to the person a few posts back, there's no way in hell this film needed a grand score. The one in the film is brilliant as it is. Granted, Hans Zimmer hasn't always done the best work (listen to the intrusive score on the recent film "The Holiday"), but seriously, if you didn't find yourself getting excited when "Molossus" started blasting during the car chase, there is no hope for you as a fan of films.

Oh, REALLY? So should I accept a film like, oh, let's pick a random example here...Alien 3. Should I accept that film just because David Fincher's "vision" was compromised by company suits? Or maybe I should accept it because it was directed by the same guy who did Seven and Fight Club? It doesn't change the fact that much of the film is a bunch of bald British guys running around in tunnels from a crawling CGI monster. Or the fact that it's a complete letdown, both in story and tone, from it's predecessor. That said, are you implying that I should just "accept" Lucas' brand of revisionist history bullshit?

Bollocks, I say. My reality determines that YOUR reality sucks ass.

That is the most fucking retarded thing I have ever heard. Tell me how I can "understand" a Jar-Jar look-alike shouting "Yippee!" at the end of ROTJ. Oh that's right, you can't explain it, as it was stupid and redundant.

my memory isn't that bad, is it? (in SW '77 - Luke misses with the grappling hook?)

It's kind of like the film "Aliens", where there was apparently a scene that was only shown on the opening day of the release, where Ripley does up her futuristic Reebok shoes. Despite the fact that numerous people have recollections of this scene, it has not appeared on any release since. So, does it exist? Numerous film reels are shot for virtually every film nowadays, and yes, some of it may never see the light of day. Does that mean it doesn't exist either? The same thing with LOTR: Return Of The King, where there's apparently an additional epilogue that Peter Jackson shot for the end of the film that hasn't surfaced. The point I was trying to make is that there is ALWAYS additional footage, regardless of whether or not the most "complete" version of the film is ever released.

I meant that OCP wont be around, because...well, you know.

I know that OCP can do restorations without this board (but I don't know why you feel the need to come here and say "hey look OCP won't be here anymore !". It's pretty childish).

As a person who has gotten DVD's from him, I believe that without the support of the community, especially one like this, and the state he's in right now, it might be difficult for him to get the time to pull together another massive project. And don't you ever call me childish. I'm being rational.
