I translated most of it, but deleted the file before I posted it anywhere.  Maybe I only found the few times you did put your kids' names in there, but I did see them often enough that I could read them without figuring it out.  I was going to post screenshots with the translations written over them, but it was getting too tedious.  I'm sure I'll try again someday.  Heck, I've got the ISO here, I'll probably do it today.

*sigh*

I had to.

Now the question remains: who's the more nerdy, the nerd, or the nerd who follows him? :)  Nice translations 005.

I feel bad for you Ady... you're doing amazing work, and, although the intent of the forum members is to give you constructive feedback, you must feel at times like we do nothing but bitch :)

Just wanted to let you know that your thoughtful, patient responses explaining the rationale behind your decisions is much appreciated.

Might wanna look again. I see them. NO offense intended. I hate sounding like a whining nitpicker. But truth told they aren't that noticable unless circled in a still, and This shot is only onscreen a very short time. If you don't wanna bother with them it's not a big a deal as I once thought.

I think at this point in time, we would all do well to remember the immortal words of William Shatner:

"Get a life!" :)

Ah, I should have done that.  Give me a minute LOL

EDIT: The difference isn't noticable enough between all the previews to justify it.

EDIT2: Aw, heck with it, I already did all the work!

MAN that is horrendous colouring on the 2004 DVD!  I can't believe how superior a fanedit can be compared to an officially licensed commercial release.

Speaking of the END of EMPIRE, this shot always bugged me.  The Falcon leaves and zips off... to where again?  The galaxy is THAT way (pointing down, as they fly upwards).

Is there any way Ady could ... show the Falcon heading TOWARDS the galaxy and not into random space?

Astronomically speaking, what you're seeing in these shots is ANOTHER galaxy beyond the edge of the galaxy in which Luke and company are situated.  It's like looking up and seeing the Andromeda galaxy in our own night sky -- it's not WITHIN our own Milky Way galaxy, we can just see it beyond our own cluster of stars.  As such, the Falcon is not heading into nothingness; the other galaxy is not their destination.

Now, whether or not such a galaxy would look that close is another matter (something that your mockups exaggerate Vaderios).  I guess considering people can hop around all over the galaxy in the Star Wars universe, it's possible that wherever the Rebel fleet is at the end of ESB just happens to be very close to said galaxy.

BTW, I personally like the idea that it could be the Rishi Maze mentioned in AOTC.

I 've watched the new yoda scene where adywan has articulated Yoda's mouth. Very good work. The first time I watched it the stretching  really jumped out at me. It seemed almost too stretched. The second and third viewings seemed much better.

Really?  I hadn't even noticed the tweaks to his mouth movement until doubleofive pointed it out.  The only thing I picked up on during first viewing was his enhanced blink... says a lot about Ady's skill, methinks.

I don't know. Yoda's pretty intense. Watch Michael Caine act... the man never blinks.

^ I don't think speederbikes would make for a logical addition to the Battle of Hoth.  Their use makes sense in ROTJ because, given the density of the forest, they are the only real means of transportation (aside from the AT-STs).  On Hoth, however, any Imperial trooper riding a bike would be an easy target for the rebels.  The idea for the Empire here isn't speed, it's defensibility while making a frontal assault (which is where the AT-ATs, with their impenetrable armour, comes in).

I'm not sure if logic can be brought into play here.

What's the logic of putting speeder bikes in an environment full of hard obstacles that are almost impossible to avoid travelling at high speed (like say...a forest moon)?

What's the logic of mounting an assault using walking attack vehicles that can be brought to the ground by unstable ground conditions (like say...a forest moon)?

That said, speeder bikes on Hoth aren't something I really feel the need to see, though it would be nice to have more AT-STs on that hard stable frozen plain (without logs).

Touché :)

Just look at Ric Olie in TPM. he's almost a narrator. why does he have to explain everything that is going on when we can plainly see that?

I laughed when I read that... my friends and I refer to him as "Captain Exposition."

Loved your post Ady.  I really don't get why your edits seem to occasionally get people up in arms -- they act as if you're planning to destroy all other copies of Star Wars on the planet and replace them with your own.  The fact is, you have every right to make an edit, and everyone else has a right to not watch it if they so choose.  As Ripplin (I think) stated, people seem to forget that we're LUCKY you're choosing to share your work with us.  I'll tell ya, it freaks me out to no end when I see people verbally attacking you for doing a fanedit because I think, "Christ, maybe he'll just get so fed up with us that he won't bother releasing his projects in the future."

I'm sure you know this, but hey, it's nice to hear so I'll say it anyway: tons of people love what you're doing, and it means a lot that you're willing to share the fruits of your labour with us.  I can't tell you how excited I am at the prospect of one day having an entire Revisited saga to sit down and watch, as your vision of what the films should be totally coincides with mine and many others here.

So, again, thanks Ady... looking forward to see what you have in store for us.

P.S.  Hope the issue with your tooth gets resolved sooner than later... can't imagine it's too pleasant.

No offense intended to those of you who are still actively following the "progress" of the X0 project, but let's be realistic.  The last member aside from MeBeJedi to post on this thread was Zion back in March 2008, and Laserman back in September 2007.  For almost 2 years, then, there has been no real progress on the project, and the discussion incessantly revolves around asking the same questions:

- has anyone heard from Laserman?

- has anyone heard from Zion?

- is the project dead?

- can we at least get the raw captures of the X0?

Look, I was right on board with those who were salivating at the prospect of getting the X0... I was checking the X0 website daily for over a year for updates... but the fact remains that nothing is happening on this project at the moment.  As such, this thread should either a) remain open and get filled with posts lamenting the passing of the X0 (which is exactly what's been occuring), or b) get locked until such time as the team's members have informative updates to present us with.  But please, don't expect this thread to stay open for purposeful discussion, 'cause that just ain't gonna happen under the present circumstances.

well yeah, i noticed that too. i personally would like to see a PT that has been retrofied to have the same feel as the OT. not saying the PT was bad, just not the PT i wanted.

Retrofied? No Coruscant? It would never had the exact feel unless it was made and first watched by us around the time we watched to originals the first time.

We had a Tantive IV, Lars Homestead, Star Destroyer bridge and other things that look just like the OT, seriously what did you want? The prequels were set on mostly heavily populated planets, the OT was set on mostly low populated planets. 10,000 SW fans want the movies 10,000 of different ways, a movie can't be made custom for all.

did my opinion upset you or something? i loved coruscant.

I think the point ben_danger was making is that the PT doesn't have the same visual feel as the OT.  Yes, part of that is due to having populated settings vs. unpopulated ones, but part of it too is that the PT seemed to be missing that used universe feel.  I know their exist popular explanations for this (it was before the Empire, Naboo was a rich, artisitic planet, etc.), but when it comes right down to it, a lot of the environments in the PT didn't feel lived in like they did in the OT.  I could believe Luke spent hours in his garage.  I could believe Han and Chewie clocked hours upon hours in the Falcon.  I could believe the rebel bases on Yavin and Hoth were working structures.  Naboo, Kamino, and many parts of Coruscant, however, look pristine and unused, and hence unrealistic.

My rotating room idea seems to have fallen off the map with all this talk of glowing faces and the like.

I had thought about something similar (regarding the rotating room) awhile back.  In theory it's ok, but it just strikes me as a very PTish thing to do.  Plus, in practice, it would be rather awkward and time consuming to have a room rotate just to enter through a particular door.  My money is on just redoing the matte to account for the interior structure of the place.

As for the issue with the sabers and their lighting, the only value I see in it is that it would create consistency between AOTC and the other films.  However, I can't imagine that would be an easy task for Ady to undertake.

Ady, have you thought about this issue (saber light in AOTC vs. the rest of the saga)?

I was just thinking, the X0 project would make a great mystery movie:  4 dudes working on a SW preservation effort, mysteriously disappearing one by one, never to be heard from again.  The climax of the film could be discovering that it is George himself who is hunting down the team members in an attempt to halt any version of SW that looks better than the GOUT from hitting the public.

Oops... yes I did.  Thanks for pointing that out doubleofive.  I've updated the image to include them.

I also got "east" and "west" screwed up in some of the captions.  For what it's worth, I corrected those too.
