STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION
Time

The red R2... I like it. It fixes a continuity error and, IMO, was so well done that as I was watching I actually had to stop and ask myself 'was that droid always there?' (and this from someone who's seen ANH well over 100 times).

As for the added music to the briefing room... love it. In fact, I find it's the best addition out of all the added music (very subtle and, like ImpFighter said, makes the scene much more ominous).

Sorry to hear about your back ady... what exactly is the problem/ailment you're dealing with? What's the prognosis?

As for further funds, if I can get the OK from the wife, I'll send you another small donation (although with house renovations set to start shortly, I'm not sure how understanding she'll be). Chicks... they just can't see the really important things in life... like ESB:R :)

oh_riginal... love the mock-up of the Slave 1 cloaking! It exceeded my expectations; very neat effect.

As far as cloaking technology in the Star Wars universe goes, however, I've always thought of it as radar cloaking (similar to a Stealth bomber). In other words, the ships remain visually visible to the eye, but don't register on instrumentation. That being the case, I've always assumed the Slave 1 had cloaking technology, hence why the Falcon didn't pick it up, and no need to make it visually disappear.

^ I doubt ady would create an inconsistency within his own Revisited saga by not giving the lasers the same treatment as he did in ANH:R.

That said, I too love the way the OT laser bolts look. For years I felt they held up as the most believeable-looking lasers in film.

^ Didn't I end up with a quintuple post awhile back? :-)

Vaderios, nice mockups, as usual. However in pic 1, as AxiaEuxine pointed out, the structure would not be visible behind Vader from that angle (I think it would be off to the left).

As for pic 2... I feel like I'm the only person on the forum who doesn't see any continuity issues with the vane/duel sequence. I always imaged the underbelly of Cloud City to be pretty big, and that the duel could occur anywhere within its bowels. In pic 2, then, is there any reason to believe that that balcony is part of the vane-like structure? Could Luke not have been somehere else (i.e., higher up or below) that structure on the balcony, only to resume the duel in a different physical location?

Edit: sorry, by "pic 1" I meant the 2nd one (the one with the structure behind Vader), and by "pic 2" I meant the last/3rd pic (the long shot of the entire structure in the shaft).

Just checking out the updated list on page 1. I think there's a problem in flipping the shot discussed above...

We see Han preparing to slice from (his) left to right, which is consistent in the following shot of the tauntaun's belly being cut. However, if the shot gets flipped, the saber will be going from in the wrong direction on the next shot, no?

have a look at the first shot of han you posted. Look at the emblem on his coat and you will see that its a flipped shot, so flipping that first shot and the taun taun and the sabers are all in the correct direction

"Ahhhh," says the blind man... I didn't realize you were flipping both shots. I never realized the first shot of Han was flipped to begin with. Thanks ady.

It would be interesting if Leia could sense what it was before she saw it , like Ben does with the TIE Fighter in ANH, it would go someway to adding more cred to her latent Force abilities (stopping her pointing would help, as would having her deliver the line before the Executor comes into view) her picking up Luke could be down to him being a strong sender rather than her own telepathic potential but if she did this it could create a mystery to be picked up by the next episode.

This could be a neat idea... I wonder if it would be possible to paste a static image of Leia's body over her existing body so as to avoid having her point, but still mouthing the words "star destroyer." Or maybe use the close up of her saying "Luke" when sensing he's in danger, and tweak her mouth to say "star destroyer." Of course, in this case, the background would need to be replaced so it looks as though she's standing rather than sitting in the pilot's seat.

However, seeing as though ady doesn't plan on touching this, this whole conversation is academic. Too bad, though... as you stated, a tweak such as this would be nice to follow up on in ROTJ.

I say, why bother with the prequels? They are beyond repair. All the skills in the world can't make them work. You can't polish a turd.

I beg to differ...

Adventures on Hoth:

21. Flipping the shot of the saber cutting open the taun Taun because its hind legs are the wrong side of the frame.

Unless you have a way of eliminating the saber from the shot ady, might I suggest that, if you still want to flip it, you simply zoom in to avoid seeing whatever it is we're seeing to the right of the frame? (I'm assuming this is the tauntaun's leg, which I assume you're assuming as well, hence why you want to flip the shot in the first place).

Boy, that's a lot of assumptions...

Oh, and by the way, sorry to hear you're not doing well at the moment ady... I hope you feel better soon, and that it's nothing too serious.

The weekend of the 26th I'm going to Ottawa so if I do get around to doing new covers it'll have to be during the next dew weekends. Thanks for all the positive comments guys!

Hey, I'm in Ottawa... nice to see some fellow Canucks on here (seems like 98% of all forum members are from the UK).

BTW, like everyone else, I'm digging those DVD covers... very nice.

Quick question.. does anybody mod these boards? Just askin cause when 2 or 3 people standout form the 100's here and consistantly get called out for trolling or posting redunant threads or being a general nuisance, I mean isnt that what the mods are for? *sigh*... even with ignoring on there are still 20+ posts responding to waid thru....

Yeah, I'm really getting sick of these people too! Mods where are you?

LOL!

Sorry for reposting this, especially in light of the recent comments about trying to stay on topic, but I just had to say that this is one of the funniest posts I've seen. Either Janskeet has a very good sense of humour, or he's completely retarded.

I don't have immediate access to my copy of The Thing at the moment, so I can't confirm anything, but are there not additional shots taken from the viewpoint of the helicopter later in the film, when Kurt Russell goes to the Swedish camp?

Nope... popped the DVD in last night to take a look. Neither the opening scene (of the helicopter chasing the dog) nor the later trek to the other research station offers up any good camera shots.

Not that it matters, since ady now has Serji-X Arrogantus's excellent CGI landscape to work with. Any word on that render, btw?
