This sounds amazing, I can’t wait for the fixed release! Hopefully things can be worked out with the myspleen admins so it can be accessed from there as well as usenet.

What’s the issue with MySpleen?

negativ- I mean rogue1 is being a bitch and flagging all further uploads of the SSE.

And he’s allowed to get away with this… Why? I mean seriously what a whiny little bitch. “Waaaah they banned me because I was a tool, now nobody gets to see it.” That’s even douchier than George Lucas not letting us see the originals in the first place.

Ironic, ain’t it?

Color matching and prediction: color correction tool v1.3 released!

The color correction tool v2.2 has been dubbed the color matching tool v1.0 to distinguish it from the upcoming color balancing tool v1.0. The functionality of the color matching tool v1.0 is the same as the color correction tool v2.2.

The white zone is for immediate loading and unloading of passengers only. There is no stopping in the red zone.

The red zone has always been for loading and unloading. There is never stopping in the white zone.

Star Wars Despecialized Editions - Custom Bluray Set (Released)

It’s ok, I am able to remux the official MKV now without any loss of picture quality so will get started on Empire and Jedi soon.

As for the Star Wars set, I would like to add Harmy’s recent BBC interview as one final feature, then will upload over this weekend.

That’s good, but I was under the assumption that you would want the lossless masters to reencode them to fit BD50s.

I saw that clip that someone posted in the 2.5 thread from the interview and I’ve been wanting to hear the whole thing! I love your taste in special features, njvc.

Personally, I believe the name Team Negative 1 is no longer relevant since poita and Williarob et al. (re: the anonymous contributors) are pretty much the main players here with regards to handling the 35mm prints. Did negative1 come up with the name “Silver Screen Edition?” I never did like it, and if he came up with it then I like it even less than before. I’m all for changing the names of both the team and the project. Something simple like The Theatrical Edition/Version sounds spot-on to me.

But I’m just one of many voices here.

TL;DR

Can we just have a dedicated disc for all the special features? Either one per film or one giant disc of all three films’ special features.

And I propose a compromise for the BD25/BD50 question: use a BD25 now while the DE is still locked in at 720p but then upgrade to BD50 when the 1080p v3.0 rolls around.

In all seriousness though a huge portion of us are 100% in favor of fixing 3PO’s unexpected movements, it’s like a silent majority. You can rag on the guy all you want but it’s something I’ve been PM’ing Harmy about every week for at least 3 years and I know I’m not alone.

What is the source of his unexpected movements?

AIDS.

Ah yes, Abruptness In Droids Syndrome

Dragon Ball Series Preservation (* unfinished project *) - much info & ongoing discussion
Time

I have been flirting with the idea of this very project for a few years now, but I’ve never had the consistency in my own life to tackle a project with such scope. Although just tonight I’ve been working on syncing up the audio for GT using the very sources you speak of: the Taiwanese (not Mandarin) Bootleg set from ADC, the season sets, and the singles with the dubbed next episode previews.

If you want to do this, you’re gonna have to accept using the Dragon Box as the main source for the Japanese audio. Sure you can sprinkle in what is available, but nobody has this stuff just lying around except for the two people who sent the audio to Chris Sabat months ago. Also, the audio for 1-17 that you talk about is only compressed AAC, whereas the audio for episode 95 was encoded to match the DBOX standard of 448 kbps mono.

It might be worth looking into DrDre’s color correction algorithm for usage with the faded DBOX footage instead of manual correction. It’s made with restoring faded film footage in particular, which would apply here in spades.
