Why do people on live streams and on fourm sites including this one ask for mod.

I don’t have any idea what this means.

I am asking why do people ask for mod

This does not clarify things.

He wants to know why some people keep asking to be moderators (even though I’ve never seen this here).

See, I had no idea if he was asking why people ask to be a mod, or why people ask for a mod, and I’m still not convinced it’s the former. Or that it’s either of those two things at all.

I took it as saying they “ask for mod privileges”.

I once played a board game called Pandemic Legacy: Season 1 with some friends of mine. It’s transformative in that the game adds and removes cards and characters, and alters the appearance of he game board across successive gameplay sessions in a way that tells a story.

I got Pandemic Legacy: Season 2 for Christmas, and have been trying to contact one of the previous players, who moved away mid-Season-1 and Skyped the rest of that game, via Facebook and Meetup.com. But she either doesn’t ever use those anymore or is ignoring me.

I just checked Meetup, and apparently she replied at some point after I PM’d the group and I didn’t check for a while after that. So I was inadvertently ignoring her instead.

The Last Jedi: Official Review and Opinions Thread ** SPOILERS **

I suppose it comes down to whether you decide you want to like it or not. If you want to like it, you focus more on why you like it; if you don’t, you focus more on why you don’t. You can certainly discuss flaws in something you like, but primarily after it’s been established that the thing you like is the thing they like. Kind of like picking on a mutual friend behind their back, as opposed to listening to someone who hates their guts.

Donner Cut Vs Lester Cut?
Time

Bingowings said:

There was a fan edit hybrid which was my preferred version as the Donner one isn’t finished. I rather like the Lester one too but Hackman being hacked off meant that version is sort of unfinished as well (obvious body double was obvious).

Donner Cut Redux by Booshman is my preferred version.
https://ifdb.fanedit.org/superman-ii-the-richard-donner-cut-redux/

Neither Memory Kiss nor Time-Reversal. Lois is allowed to remember who Clark is, and her comment that he is “super” at the climax of the film is not coincidental on her part.

…what body double? It is not obvious to me.

I wasn’t writing them off, I was trying to say the traditional movie critic who had a journalistic background or came out of the movie industry seems a rare breed these days.

There were plenty of critics I couldn’t stand back in the day. There was at least one who seemed to enjoy trashing Star Wars regularly. Probably pulling their hair out now if they’re still around. 😉

OOH! Have ya seen the video of Siskel & Ebert defending ROTJ against some fool? It’s great! 😄
Here it is

Ironic that John Simon in that video says Walt Disney could have done just as well at making a Star Wars film (@3:50).

Mrebo, it’s a false equivalency.

There are those online who have declared The Last Jedi a box office turkey, and yes it has performed significantly worse than The Force Awakens did.

However - this false equivalency fails to note that The Force Awakens was the 3rd highest grossing movie of all time. The Last Jedi has in fact already earned a staggering $1.3 billion and is one of the top ten most successful movies of all time.

There are those who have declared that The Last Jedi is a bad SW movie, nowhere near as good as Empire Strikes Back.

However - this false equivalency fails to note that Empire Strikes Back was recently voted the best movie of all time by Empire magazine. Naturally, comparing any movie to the best movie of all time is always going to result in it appearing second rate.

Compare like for like. Compare The Last Jedi (2017) to the other films released for family audiences in 2017. That’s fair, that’s sensible, that’s equivalent. It doesn’t ‘skew’ the results to create a false narrative. It gives a genuine picture of the quality when measured against its peers (which are exactly the like of Pirates Of The Carribean, Justice League, and Transformers The Last Knight).

This is one of the reasons why we still need professional critics. People who can be trusted, unlike youtubers, to have seen a lot of films and possess an understanding of where the benchmark line is set.

Who are the prominent movie critics today?

Leonard Maltin?

I hate reddit. I don’t even care about the content, the format of the site is awful.

This.

Once upon a time, I used to frequent the Telltale Games forums, but they eventually changed their forum software to some Reddit-style awfulness. For the uninformed, on a reddit-style “forum”, individual threads have their own subthreads (and sub-subthreads, etc.), meaning replies to a post get nested into the one replied to. So having a pages-long normal running conversation like we do here, or reading all unread posts in a thread in chronological order starting with oldest, are basically impossible.

Anyway, after TTG changed their forum to this travesty of a “community”, many (most?) regular forum users jumped ship for other sites like Doublefine.

I actually know MusicallyInspired from hanging around the TTG and DF forums. Not sure anyone else from there hangs around here.

If there isn’t already a song lyrics thread, go make one I can ignore please.

Exactly what I was talking about.

Um… you think Spongebob memes are the kind of memes 30 and 40 year olds post???

Out of touch thirty to forty year olds, definitely

Out of touch with what? Posting a meme makes me out of touch? You’re saying I should be more in touch with getting old?

If anything, I don’t see why a year old meme is “old” enough to be out of touch given the frequency of use of much older ones.

Certainly, myself being almost 40, you should probably expect that I don’t care.

Hahahaha.

OOT vhs box set? (answer: an OT VHS box set from 2000; the 1997 Special Editions)

The film Star Wars wasn’t marketed as “Episode IV: A New Hope” until around the time the prequels were released. So they definitely would not be OOT.

The last OOT VHS release was probably the Faces set.

The Faces tapes say A New Hope on them, but the Laserdiscs don’t for some reason.

…*checking for verification.

Okay, on the spine yes. But only on the spine. And the 1997 Special Edition VHS sets did not say “A New Hope” on them at all.

The whole trilogy lacked the episode numbers until LFL started marketing Episode I.

your assertion suggests i make pms jokes frequently or all the time i don’t make them all the time im snarky on occasion and when im not prompted to pretty much a guarantee for me to not be snarky or witty is to ask me to say something snarky or witty because i feel on the spot and consequently cant think of anything appropriate enough to respond with.
