The Official 2006 Discs Will Be No Better Than What We Have!
Time
The circle will never be complete. DVD release of the OT, done. HD-DVD or Bluray release of the OT... not until a new format emerges like Crystaline Holographic HD in say like 10 years. He'll release the set just as HD or Bluray is at it's end and then we'll want it in the new format. I'd like to quote Mr. Burns at this time if I may...

"Remember... you're here forever."

What Fatned in the General Discussion forum posted disturbs me greatly:

" I hate to be a negative nancy and piss on everyone's parade, but Lucas isn't doing this because of overwhelming demand, internet petitions, or because he's suddenly been possessed by Shebastian Shaw. It's simply a business decision. Remember this little tidbit:

"The other movie, it’s on VHS, if anybody wants it. ...[] ... it doesn’t really exist anymore."

His lawyers must have shit enough bricks to build a great wall along the mexican border. That statement would make it almost impossible to sue anybody for copying/distributing copies of the real Star Wars. How could he claim damages resulting from someone copying something that "doesn't really exist anymore?" The release of "the other movie" on dvd will change that. He'll be able to claim lost revenues for this dvd. He'll be able to sue anyone copying and/or distributing copies of TRSW and he'll win in court.

He probably wasn't lying when he said the OOT would never be released on dvd. His lawyers on the other hand, after he made the foolish statement quoted above, obviously let him know only an idiot would disown a piece of work that is such a huge money maker. A good lesson for all artists, don't ever disown a piece of work no matter how much you despise it, it may cost you considerable $$ down the road.

On the positive side, at least you get the OOT on dvd like you've always wanted! Too bad you have to buy the crap versions too! But Lucas is still the selfish fat hack he's always been. (Gee, can you tell I still hate his fatnecked guts?)

Ned"

Help: looking for... Nooooooo.... so close.... (Cowclops v2)
Time

In the spirit of the holidays I payed forward three copies of MagnoliaFan’s excellent edits (hope they get to you all soon). I was fortunate enough to get a copy of the Cowclops v2 for my troubles. Sadly the discs arrived all scratched and unplayble. My DVD-Rom couldn’t even read them either. So close to seeing the OT again. I don’t blame Number20 for his generous trade, I think the envelope might have been opened by customs and resealed. Ah well… someday when the torrents are ripe.

Did anyone see The Apprentice last night?
Time
Here in Canada on our Global station, there was this halarious Apprentice commercial. I still think my friend and I were imagining it, so hopefully someone out there can shed some like on it for me. It's basically Donald saying to Chewbacca that he's fired because no one can understand what he's saying. You see Chewie distrought with his suitcase outside his hotel room. I couldn't stop laughing. What has the SW universe become when it's being mocked by another pop culture?

FURIOUS With Fox (Or) Why Does Canada Have To Suck?
Time
I feel your pain man, but anyone that orders DVD's from Canada will most often get that often due to Quebec's bi-lingual laws. Ironic that we have to have our products in English and French when we have a province that wishes to seperate from us. If anything, our country's two main languages should be English and Manderin now as I believe we have more asians in our country. Hmm... we should try and get them to mandatory learn French to immigrate here. That'll throw them for a loop. No, this isn't meant in any way a racist remark, I'm just being excesively sarcastic. Sadly, this will discourage others from buying our products (even when they're cheaper) do to this. My only real suggestion is to print out custom covers.
