Force Five Cartoons
Time
Does anyone remember this series of cartoons from the early 80's?

http://www.absoluteanime.com/force_five/

I was feeling a bit nestalgic tonight and looked it up to see if any of them were released on DVD. One site has Grandizer:

http://www.grendizer.net/Grendizer_DVD.html

But there's no way in hell I'm paying $99 US for a 26 episode DVD when the quality will more than likely be that of a vhs tape or recorder from TV. Does anyone have any of these somewhere recorded and tucked away in a shoebox or something? If that company continous to release the series' 130 episodes, I'd be looking at close to $500 for childhood memories. I know some would argue you can't put a price on your memories, but apparently someone's taking advantage of this.

Too bad we can't do some kind of preservation thing like the SW DVD's here.

And thanks for hearing me rant a bit.

Episode II: Shroud of the Dark Side (the TM edit) (Released)
Time
This is the first time I've read about your project. I must say, it's quite an undertaking. However, from what I've read, you are more than capable of doing this and I look forward to seeing the results. Now, I'm curious (and not sure if there's a faq) is this just for Episode II for the immediate future or do you find it ties is a bit to MagnoliaFan's Episode 1 edit? Regardless, all the best to you in this endeavour and try not to lose sleep working on it.

MagnoliaFan Edits: Ep I "Balance Of The Force", and Ep II "The Clone War" (Released)
Time
This sounds interesting. A new version of Balance, Clone War and an edited version of Sith when it's released. We are truly grateful for your talents. I'm curious, did you have to roto Dooku's saber to make it yellow? I just got a job doing some compositing with Digital Fusion (I'm a real padawan on this prog) and wondered how you did that trick.

Star Wars DVD Covers
Time
I know Jupiter Prime from other boards and his site is by request only. If they don't know you from reputation on other cover community sites you'll get shot down. I think it's just a means of his work not being used and abused for piracy. Scarmanga's the same. You may know his awesome work from the grunge metal working of the SW covers. Though I think Rix Graphics covers are readily availible. Just so you know.

DVD Covers (Eps. I,II,III, V & VI)
Time
Nothing out of those Twister, but your links did help to re-phrase my search criteria and I found this:

http://www.moviegoods.com/movie_product.asp?sku=149545&dept_id=10711&master_movie_id=10711

Now I'm really knocking myself in the head. I had two copies of this and they might have gotten thrown out. Now they're going for $80.

Can you say... "Stimpy... you IDIOT!"

Speilberg's a Wookie!
Time
Silly topic title aside, I'm sure many of you heard that Speilberg always wanted to direct an episode of Star Wars and that Lucas asked for his assitance for Episode III. I'm not too sure what Speilberg did but rumors are he directed a few sequences. My theory is that he directed the Kaasykk battle as it was very U-boatish a la Saving Private Ryan. Plus, when Yoda left in his shuttle, it had an E.T feel to it. Did anyone else get the same impression?

ROTS: I'm gonna get my fur kicked for this
Time

Okay, saw Ep3 twice over the weekend and I must state that even though the Wookies were underused I still prefer the Ewoks. Before you start flaming… for those of you that have seen the Holiday Special (shudder) that’s all I could think of when Chewbacca and Talfor (sp) were conversing with one another as they said goodbye to Yoda. I can’t take wookie speak seriously – the special tainted me. The Ewoks gave a sense that even though they were short, furry primatives, they had a language that you felt was real. If I want to speak wookie, I’ll talk to dogs and walrus’. Lucas wanted to have the wookies in Ep6 but couldn’t. Now in Ep3 he basically recreates the Ewoks but taller and technologically advanced (minus the Tarzan yell). So… as stated in Clerks: “all Jedi had was a bunch of Mupputs”, I still prefer the Muppets.

Episode 3: Fan Editing Ideas Discussion
Time
Have to totally agree that the second viewing makes the film kind of bland. It didn't feel like it had a lot of weight to it and would love to see what MagnoliaFan could do with it. Though I just have to ask if he's still roaming this thread: did you ever think of getting some people here to volunteer their voices for some of the alien dialogue in your previous edits? The whole, backwards/overlaped dialogue with subtitles made it feel sort of fakely alien. Is there any chance in the future of releasing any DVD-9 versions of the edits? The video quality seems a little too compressed IMO. If you'll be doing III, new technology will allow you to fit more on dual-layer. Hope I don't get thrashed for this, a lot of people argue here that DVD-5 is just fine.
