@ Bingo, well to be honest I'm not totally sure that he will change in this scene, this was just a test to see if it can be done. Tho it might end up being exactly how BarBar and you have stated. I would be a nice time to have this come across, but I have to think about the rest of the dual scene. It will be dark, but in alot more shots I would have to apply this effect. Shots that are very heavy in Special FX already.

 Yeah, the eyes should be yellowish orange, these are just tests to see if I can do whats needed for later use in the film. BTW I started the prune morph trials. This first test only took a hour, so please dont mind the sloppiness, I'm figuring it out as I go. And stuff like this will be smoothed out later. This ones for Bingo.

Ok, unless I can find a way to improve on the Order 66 idea, I'll be leaving it as it was originally. It was pretty much something I stumbled onto, and I thought it worked nice. So I tossed it up here to get opinions.

Now I need to get some feedback on the Anakin Mace clip if I can. Just trying to get an idea of how It works for everyone.

Gonna try to get back to a once a week update as I keep editing. Stuff that I post will be things that I'll need opinions on. This week it's an edited scene of Anakin telling Mace that Palpatine is a Sith. The idea I went for is that less is more from Anakin. Just from his body language we can see his troubles.

Well the thing about the "not from a Jedi line" was not so much finding a place to work it back in at the time, but more of an audio issue. Right at the very end of that line, there is an increasing amount of background music. So I decided to just leave it out and work around it.

But after looking the scene over, Even if I could grab a clean version from the Star Wars Soundboard. I'm still not sure where that line could be worked back in other than right after "Is it possible to learn this power?"

So at that point it would be two different close up shots of Palpatine delivering two different lines. And that just wouldnt look right. I love that line also, so trust me I tryed to get it back in there. I'll keep thinking of ways and see if something works.

The thing I'm liking best about this cut is the fact that now Palpatine's selling point has changed a bit. He plays to Anakins personal wants first. The first time he really grabs Anakins attention is when me mentions the word Powerfull. And now Anakins head is up and he's all ears. And removing the line "He could actualy save people from death" sells the idea that maybe Anakin isnt just curious because he's trying to find a way to save Padme. That just happens to be a nice perk.

Let me see if I got this right....

Dont have to sit in the council mettings, taking hard ass stares from Mace Windu and Obi-wan for something I just said .... check

Worst case tho. The extras might not be done in Blue Ray or maybe even DvD quality. So we still might be out of luck unless someone wants to drop down the quality to match a few bonus scenes.

But I'm hoping I'm wrong.

I'm thinking that the last clip I posted will be what the final version is. It still has one or two hard transitions but those will be ironed out.

ATM, there's only one scene that has no cuts to it, and that's the conversation between Anakin and Padme that ends with. "Hold me like you did on the lake, etc, etc"

While I'm not a huge fan of that scene, I wont cut it entirely. Due to the fact that it shows that Anakin and Padme are still having problems between their views of governmental rule. But that is IMO the hardest conversation to edit into something a bit more serious. I'll be rewatching that part tonight in hopes that I can find something to tweek and add to that.

Update on the opera scene. Made some small changes based of feedback. Went alittle different route on the Darth Plagueis line, but I think in this version that line runs alot smoother.

I feel this scene works alot better now. Still may need some minor audio fixes.

Ok need some input, cause I've been watching this for awhile now, and I need to know how odd this part is. right now I'm immune to it after working on re-editing it for a 6th time.

The opera scene. Some things to note while watching...

1. I know I used the same shot twice, one of the duplicate shots will be changed later.

2. The audio is not complete, what i need to peoples thoughts on the conversation. If it works, I'll go in and clean up the audio.

3. The Idea here is that Palpatine starts the conversation talking about The Sith, to test Anakins reaction. After Anakin shows some interest, he then moves onto telling him about the Jedi plot, then he ends the conversation linking the Jedi and Sith as really being pretty much the same.

4. I'm trying to be change the flow because I always remeber this as the scene that I would head up to get a drink or hit the bathrrom, cause I really cant stand it.

5. This scene is a very hard scene to edit based on the which way the actors are facing, otherwise this wouldnt be to hard to making into something great. So if you make a suggestion for a cut, keep in mind the actors positioning.

I'm running with a new 1080p version now, so make sure to bump up the resolution. Woot! 8)

Really started tinkering with more options I've never touched on in After effects. Now I want to say that Ive seen this done somewhere but only in pics. It sort of a comic book effect. I just rendered this clip all with the same settings. So some parts look better than others. But I think this would be a really good way to combine the films. Maybe have each scene have a page flip wipe effect.

Ok, I was messing around with what I would do with the background of this scene and took a quick stab at making fetts helm green while I was at it, trying to see if maybe I could add some helpful info for brash. Its still a quick version so nothing amazing. And the first CCed part has very ugly masking, so please bare with me. And I got alittle lazy, his antennas not done 8)

It would still need some work on the specific coloring but what i did was the following.

I made 2 layers of a rotoed out Fett. The top layer was the original taken down to about 20% opacity. So that its just about see thru.

The second layer I used the "change color to color" effect, and selected to change blue to green. Youll have to toy with the options to have mainly the helm effected. Toss this under almost see thru layer, and you can come pretty close to the desired effect. I also chose the "brightness and contrast" effect to darken him overall.

Then under all that place the original background footage color corrected to your liking. This way ou are free to Correct the background to whatever you like

Total time worked on this one quick shot was around a hour using the roto brush in AE CS5. I couldnt imagine trying this with normal roto options.

If you dont have AE CS5, for sure go with one of the 2nd version you posted above. I like that one.

Ok, adding a communication between Obi and the Cody before Obi jumps down into certain death. This makes it look more like Obi jumps down to stall The General. The hand was borrowed from the elevator scene that I removed from earlier in the film.

So how does the hand look?

The problem with the guards and GG's cape is that several times they pass under green lighting, making rotoing out just the green lighting that comes from above a very tough task.

Angel. Words cannot express that amount of amazingness you do. The interior shots of the falcon are just jaw dropping. Not to mention the training shot with Luke.

You are making you ever so hard to not want to do an ANH edit next. The amount of style you've been putting into all of your mock-ups really just baffles me.
