SW Episode III - Reign of the Dark Side (* unfinished project *)
Time

This was done by me quite awhile ago, Mithrandir.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THBRvtxNPvE

There might be a few more cuts here and there, but this is pretty close to what the final version is going to be. I dropped down Anakins voice in this scene, so that he wouldnt sound like a 10 year old. This voice is not final tho.

Also made it so that he yells "You turned her against me!" while he still holding Padme in the force choke. Which I really like alot. There is one minor flickering frame. Of course, stuff like that will be fixed for the final version.

Feel free to post you ideas tho, Mithrandir. I'm always open to ideas.

Oh for sure, I love hearing peoples ideas. Never a problem with that. That's where quite a few of the changes, effects, and edits have came from for this movie. Someone mentions an idea and hot damn, it ends up working. In alot of parts, it ends up really awsome.

Also wanted to say thanks to everyone for the feedback on the last clip. Going to making some adjustment. Also, theres alot more to that scene that is being changed, but I didnt want to give anything away. I mostly needed to know how that one shot looked. I had some good points made by a few people. So now its back to making it better.

Thank You Thank You

Need some fresh eyes for this next shot, cause I've been looking at it for so long. ATM anything looks good.

During the final duel I removed the line. "You underestimate my power". For obvious reasons. My problem was that with alot of the lines from this part removed, Anakin jumping comes way to quick. So I reinserted the shot when Anakin gives that line, but removed him saying anything. Using motion tracking and masks. Feel free to pick it apart, cause like I said, right now it's hard for me to judge it.

Yeah with all the blue taken out from the walls, The faces really stand out alot more. I'm going to be adding more red lights to the walls, while I do that Ill see about toning down the faces 8)

Just did another pass with the walls looking alot smoother and less pixalated. So this is coming along nicely. Rendering takes a ton of time tho, cause the amount of fx needed to get this look right is insane. This is not as simple as just taking out the color. lol

Thanks all for the comment. Once I get a few of these shots complete I'll post something up again. With more work I think they can really win over alot of people.

I added the white glowing sheild to the Hanger scene, and with the color change I think it really puts the look over the top, and will make it sell alot better. But I still have alot of other things to fix and adjust to that clip, so I'll hold off on posting that till it's alittle more presentable.

Hey bobgarcia74,

Love what you are doing with this edit.

I have a question, and I had a look through the pages and didn't see what I am about to ask covered, but if it was please forgive me.

I am wondering if you are going to be doing anything with the way we see anakin get wounded on Mustafar?

I always thought the way he loses his legs wasn't very dramatic, nor the way he burns, and the way the burns look. I remember thinking back to the OT and how when we only saw Vader's head, it always signified he had gone through a really torturous and brutal transformation. For me in ROTS it never sold that part for me. And so, I am wondering if something more graphic could work - a bit like how murphy is shot to pieces and becomes Robocop. For me, that would sell the transformation I think better, as it allows the audience to really sympathise with what has happened to anakin.

I'll be looking into this for sure. Anything I can do to help that part out will be considered. Thanks for asking.

That last video was a first draft that I was working on after Angel posted a pic in Windows messager (I should have mentioned that, sorry). I do plan to add back color for the engines and other small things.

The holorgram is already masked out but I was short on time and wasnt able to finish it to true OT look, but rest assured it will be taken care of.

The ending of the film right now is set in stone, and is already a pretty drastic departure from the original. I watched alot of SSWR's vids and liked them a ton. But some of it might be a bit out of my league.

Headed to bed. Long night of work again.

Angel mentioned this in another thread at one time. I always wanted to address this. Just a test, nothing final. Some minor color correction and new color to the robe added at 16 seconds into the video.

It's a first draft, but it coming along nicely. I stopped the color correction right before the end of the clip so you can get an idea of the difference.

Yeah, this started off as a simple cut list. Then after I started working on the dooku door scene and learning After Effects, this became alot more of a project.

After alot of nights chatting with Angel on Windows messager, alot of ideas took flight using Angels renderings and tricks that I've learned in AE. I then realized that alot of the things that I would like to change, could in fact be done. Now it's down to having the time and patience to do these changes justice, and not have then sticking out like a sore thumb.

I really appreciate Angel for pushing me to not limit myself. As well I also appreciate the comments, ideas and helpfull support that everyone has given me while working on the film.

It's still a labor of love. I'm still having a really fun time doing these changes. And having the feedback helps to push me further.
