Heya Frink. just a quick suggestion. You might wanna hit a site like Soundbible.com and just look thru their Royalty free sound collection. I bet it would give you alot of ideas.

I did a quick run thru myself. I wanted to add a few more sounds. Like maybe a couple having a argument in another hut or something. But I held off.

Little sounds work so much better when everyone has such a serious face  0

Also If you can find a good sound file of a car alarm chirp, I would suggest using that everytime someone lands a ship

Well it's odd unless I typed that Youtube discription at 3 in the morning right before I was heading to bed. And of course I have to wake up for work at 5 in the morning. Damn you fanediting!!

So to answer the question now that I've gotten home from work the next day and got a few hours rest ........ maybe?

No seriously, that idea will not be put into the edit

or will it?

The Prequel Radical Redux Ideas Thread
Time

OK, at the moment I'm in full swing again with my Episode 3 edit. As soon as thats done I plan to do a full blown Star Wars Saga edit before making my way to single edits of the rest of the films. By then the Blu ray versions will be out.

At that time I might be looking for a few people to help cause this Saga edit is something I would like to maybe have a few fanediters get there hands dirty on.

When the time comes I'll make sure to ask around.

I have a ton of thoughts and plans for this edit. Here's a Small taste.

I posted it here due to it including a great deal of the Prequels and being very radical.

Im finding a few more scenes that I'm going to be attempting background replacements on. As to whether they'll work out has yet to be seen. I've been messing around with the Mocha program for motion tracking. I'm loving the results.

---------------

@Mithrandir. I like the idea. I'll give it some thought. I'm just not sure how much more I want to cut from the film.

If done this way we lose the Obi-yoda chat about Qui gonn as you mentioned. But we also lose......

Any birth footage

Obi Yoda and Bale returning to Coruscant

Obi and Yoda at the Jedi temple discovering the dead Jedi, and there talk after re-callibrating the code

Yoda going into exile.

----------------

Thats alot to lose.

1080 gives the best view of it.

First is the original, then a smoothed out version. He loses about 10 years. Of course I only did this in 10 min. So it's not perfect. Just a quick example. If anyone is interested, I can walk you thru how its done in AE.

Bob, I was thinking about the way that Palpatine looks older in AOTC than he does in ROTS. Do you think it would be possible to make him more pale in ROTS (via color correction), to make up for this?

As BarBar mentioned. I would edit the footage from AOTC to make him appear younger. It's amazing what alittle color tone and the remove grain tool in AE can do for things like this.

Hehe, yeah it needs some audio for sure.

Thanks everyone for the kind words about the clip. I pre-planned how I was gonna do this, and much to my suprise it all worked out pretty good the first time around.

Took about 45 min to do (not counting render time)

One mask to block out the real Obi.

Then I stabilized the background cause it moves just alittle.

I had the background footage bounce between playing forward and backward to extend the time of the shot.

Then a quick mask around Obi jumping, that I also slowed down using the Twixter plugin. Then I copied that mask footage 3 times. And again had to footage play forward, backward, then forward again. To extend the jump time.

Then I just had to postion where the jump would start. Where the jump would be highest, and where it would end. And place the masked Obi shots in the right place.

I didnt even preview this before I rendered. Just said to hell with it. I'll render it, and whatever needs fixing I'll get to tomorrow. But I think it already looks pretty damn sweet.

At least sweet enough to still make me laugh everytime I see it.
