2011?

''move along, move along''

This is worth mentioning again.  The OP seems to have missed the date and that everyone else has moved on.

Has anyone even bothered spot-checking the thread past the first page?  Adywan apologized and they seem to have buried the hatchet that was made, oh, four years ago.

While I don't find it mature to vent on forums (in either case) it's none of my business anyway.  Move along, move along.

Team Negative1 - The Empire Strikes Back 1980 - 35mm Theatrical Version (Released)
Time

Hey David,

I don't think anyone's released a color-corrected version yet but if you know what a LUT is and how to use it (I don't) you can apply bttfbrasilfan's work to the Grindhouse version yourself.  Me, personally, I just compensate a tiny bit by adjusting the hue in VLC and it looks much better.  Not perfect, but far less red.

Episode VII: The Force Awakens - Discussion * <strong>SPOILER THREAD</strong> *
Time

For the record I'm annoyed as well, but not "f*ck you" annoyed.  So much for seeing this at the theatre I've seen them all in... they'll definitely be doing 3D.

Conversions don't make as much money.  People seem to know the difference between native 3D and postproduction 3D.
I really hope the Village Theatre in Westwood has 2D showings, too.

Terrible DVD/Blu-ray Cover Art
Time

Pre-CAPS system (google it), I actually find many of their movies visually dull. Sure, they're fine stories, but there's nothing special about how the animation works.  Not for me at least... especially when they stopped cleaning the lineart and you began to see the pencil markings/ink/etc. in a way that makes it look very rough (I think that started with 101 Dalmatians and went all the way thru Great Mouse Detective).

Though in all fairness I had forgotten about Fantasia when I said that.

Yesterday I had the chance to go to a private screening of an IB TECH Star Wars 1977 35mm print in Los Angeles.

All I can say is wow - this print was in INSANE shape. Great colors and almost no scratches. Basically was in a time capsule - mesmerizing.

Jealous!  Wish I'd heard about this, would have driven up for it (assuming "private" means "in-the-know" and not just a small group of friends).
