Old Man, is Old.
Old Man, is Old.
Are you here just to bait Warbler? Seriously? :/ you should really know better. This is not something he'll take lightly. This thread isn't for discussion of MOVE, it's for remembrance of the tragedy that took place because of them.
I don't care one way or the other. I'm just pointing out the obvious. B)

I find it immensely satisfying to know that Lorenzo Music did the voice for Garfield in the cartoon as well as Peter Venkman in The Real Ghostbusters, while Bill Murray played Garfield and Peter Venkman in the live action versions of both characters.
Missed the best part of this: Music lost the job on Real Ghostbusters because Bill Murray once off-handedly complained that he sounded nothing like him.
I think your just being dramatic
I tend to be skeptical of people who say they'd watch a raw scan, but those '97 SE shots are making me reconsider my stance. Had to come back today just to get another look, haha.
@Andrea: as John Doom says, there are some sharpening artifacts present in your latest comparison. While unavoidable in an upscale to a certain extent, look at the haloing around R2. Just keep that in mind while you continue experimenting.
Wow, those frames make me more excited for a 97 preservation than I thought possible. Looking forward to the possibility of that down the line, -1 team.
Amended. Thanks everyone.
It's hard to know how to respond. Since I grew up far away from everyone, the immediacy is hard for me to understand. I imagine it's a lot easier for me to be in denial than anyone who grew up with him around.
From what I know, yes, they are. If I remember right even harmy's excellent work had that tint to the death star. It's even got a more greenish tint in some shots. I think mvertaentioned it over in the legacy thread at some point
So, this looks pretty incredible. It's hard to believe you can manage this with just a few filters. I can't wait to see what this process will bring out of a higher quality broadcast. I always liked the Reivax French cap, but I think it has burned-in alien subtitles...
Please, I can't waste my time wading through all of your garbage back at Moron Mountain. That would be too much work.
You're wasting your time bringing that drama here. Right or wrong, it has no business here (and I'd say that goes for D_J, too, but a one-off remark is much less immature than coming over here with all your baggage).
Just my two cents and mini-modding.
I always thought that was an interesting look for Vader and was kind of disappointed I didn't see something like that in ROTS, but I agree the poster is bland.
It might be best to PM Neglify in the future (this applies to everyone, not Warb.) I can see this getting the LOLbunny if not :/
Just the name of this damn test speaks to how damn manipulative scientology is.

Who knows if they'll even be able to drag him out of retirement again. He's come out a couple times as favors but I think he really wants to stick to his guns on the matter these days. Let's just hope if they don't get him that they don't then go with the lame copycat that Abrams used for Super 8 when he couldn't get Struzan for that:
[snip]
I think that's actually fanart. I don't remember seeing that anywhere for real.

They're talking about the AMC Movie Theater chain, not the TV channel.
Imagine if it was on the channel. The opening crawls would be sped up and scenes would be cut out to make room for all their stupid commercials.
I'm actually surprised Spike doesn't do this. I was under the impression that AMC was one of the least-awful of basic cable.

Preface: I'm not a Marvel guy.
It may be just me, but the whole Marvel universe has just left me cold so far. I appreciate the efforts put in to appease fans and audiences alike, but to me these films never really convalesce into anything truly cohesive. There is a continual feeling of "made by committee" that has been stuck there since the dull Iron Man 2.
Somehow, the proper use of the quote function eludes me on this forum whenever it's more than one quote... always ends up screwing up the formatting for me :/ (see: my typeface)
Just wanted to say that I agree completely about that feeling of made by committee. I am more than a little tired of how needlessly connected this universe is, personally. And they all reek of exploitation of a genre... then again, I suppose all action films do? It's just a specific target for my feelings because of how prolific this universe has become.
I am probably in the minority though.
generalfrevious is the prime example of why fans like us have a bad rap.
Oh, how I miss that game... I went on jk2 yesterday just to see if there was anyone left, and the only players I found were bots. :/
I liked the Hand books. In fact, I just finished them. I don't think I would ever return to them, but they were good reads for sure. While a little drawn out, Thrawn's supposed return was a great scheme and I liked knowing how it happened from the very beginning instead of it being a surprise.
The ending of the duology, though, is definitely a series of clusterfuck deus-ex machinas that barely make sense. I still enjoyed it, but the resolution felt ... well, too good. Everything came together perfectly all too fast.

ROTJ is probably the greatest and most wholly satisfying conclusion to a movie Trilogy that we have ever, or maybe will ever get.Between the writer's-block driven incest storyline,
I'm actually going to defend this point an say that it's in line with Lucas's general MO of one giant homage to pulp fiction. Certainly sounds like something that would come out of 1930's-era serials to me.
Still don't like ROTJ, though :P

1) We will probably have a pre-release just for members of the blog, and to those that donated in the past.
Team Negative1
Is this in reference to the old blog, or is there another one I'm not familiar with?
No, not you -- I mean the MakingStarWars guy. Should've just left Facebook to Facebook. He seems like a pretty nice guy in all other cases where I've seen his name.
In all fairness to him, though, I've seen the same problem here in other cases. Star Wars just gets people so riled up. It's crazy.
Sorry about that, I could have made it clearer.
