3D STAR WARS for the masses...has ARRIVED!

George doesn't like 3D That 'comes out at you' from the screen (!)

The skeptic in me wonders if he "doesn't like" that sort of 3D because he can't do it with the source material he has.  Because that statement is inconsistent with Sy Snootles' ROTJ Special Edition lips.

I'm going to have to disagree based on the new Star Tours.  Outside of one shot, at least on my path, the 3D was more about depth and perspective than shock and amazement with things popping out at you.  That project suggests that he actually means it when he says he's not crazy about 3D as a spectacle, but more as an enhancement.

Episode II: Attack of the Ridiculousness ***NEW 14 MONTH ANNIVERSARY DVD NOW AVAILABLE***
Time

I had originally missed that it was taken from Blues Brothers.  The clip itself just sounded kind of awkward to me, but then again, it's elevator music.  I actually like the original version of the song, which is probably why I complained at all...

Liking the Krusty Jar Jar bits.

John Lowry dies at 79
Time

In b4 "good riddance to that DNR-machine monster".  For all its perceived flaws, there's a reason Lowry is often the go-to restoration company:  the methods work.  And they are still being refined.  Much of their more recent work looks fantastic.  Not every movie they did turned out like Star Wars or the Citizen Kane DVD after all.  I for one think that a few of the Bond releases, while admittedly the series itself was hit-and-miss with restoration quality (which I still believe is more the fault of the studio), ended up fantastic in HD.

Really?  I saw it without having anything to compare it to and found it... all right.  Not horrid, certainly, but nowhere near a 5/5... maybe a 2.5/5 for me.  I just hate Russell Brand.  He strikes me as such a prick, mainly because - well - up until more recently he's kind of been Arthur.  Only I never caught the lovable naive side that Arthur has.

Then again, I dunno.  This could be pretty irrational.

I have seen The Goonies but as I did not grow up on it wasn't a fan.  I can't watch that movie without feeling ridiculously sorry for Chunk; he's basically stuck being their bitch because he can't find any other friends.

So, Solo, you're not so bad for disliking The Goonies.  But Ferris Bueller?  We need to have a talk...

I haven't really explored '80s cinema outside of Spielberg, Lucas and The Breakfast Club.  At least, I can't think of anything from the '80s off the top of my head outside of SW, Raiders, and the aforementioned John Hughes film.  I tend to prefer movies from the late '70s back, and sometimes a few from the '90s.

Movie(s) you've seen the most?
Time

At one point this would have been an easy question answered by a few Disney movies.  But now, I have absolutely no idea.  In terms of in-theaters, ET takes the cake with three times - once for the special edition, twice for separate revival screenings.  The only Star Wars tape I wore out was IV, so I guess that should go on the list too.

It's really easy to confuse "most viewed" with "favorite" unless one of your most viewed is something you've seen recently again.
